Half of this year Talkiarty was contracted with my insurance company. Out of the blue I received a bill and the billing department stated they are no longer contracted with my insurance company. No warning. No notice. Terrible customer service and resolution for this issue. I highly recommend to avoid Talkiarty!

Terrible experience. Once I said I had received Ketamine treatment with a Doctor I was told she couldn't accept me as a patient. Ketamine is the leading treatment for Major Depressive Disorder. Obviously Talkiatry isn't serious about helping people.

In concept the service is great and very convenient for those who struggle to break away from life for a trip to the doc's office for an appointment. The quality of my doctor was very good, and he has always been on time to my appointments. I was able to get everything I needed from him and have had at least 6 successful appointments in the last 3 months. Where things go south for Talkiatry is on the billing side. They bill you for services (codes) that they never actually perform, so I am being billed for psychiatry (med mgmt) services and on top of that, psychotherapy services (not legit). My normal follow-up appointments are 20-30 minutes long and there is no way you can do both of those services in that amount of time. The cost is high as well. A med mgmt follow-up visit without psychotherapy costs me just over $200 (w/ insurance discount). When you add in the fraudulent psychotherapy billing, that adds another $100+ to your bill. I was getting local med mgmt services for $125, so I may be going back to that if they don't straighten out there billing practices. I have filed complaints with their billing department and will be filling a compliant with my insurance company next. Be forewarned about their billing practices and insist that your doctor only performs the services you are there for.

What a terrible experience. The billing is the worst part. I had a payment plan in place, it shows on their online bill. The customer service has no clue what your bill is. They threatened to send me to collections with a zero balance. I had to ask customer service several times to delete my card. I asked for a manager, twice and conveniently the manager was out for the day. My doctor didn't really seem to listen. Do more research when it comes to self care.

Do not use Talkiatry unless you enjoy surprise bills. My husband and I moved from Chicago to Massachusetts and picked them because Aetna proudly listed them as in-network—apparently “in-network” now means “brace yourself.” Imagine our delight when a single 30-minute appointment turned into a nearly $400 bill. Talkiatry charged around $600, Aetna tossed in about $200 like spare change, and we got stuck holding the rest. Nothing about this visit screamed “premium luxury experience.” It was a glorified check-in that felt like it could’ve been handled in the time it takes to microwave leftovers, yet somehow came with a price tag worthy of a five-star spa day. We certainly didn’t expect to pay this much out of pocket for an in-network provider, especially for what amounted to a brief telehealth cameo driven by bureaucratic nonsense. If you’re trusting your insurance directory, maybe have a healthy dose of skepticism. Double, triple, and possibly hire a detective to confirm what you’ll actually owe before scheduling. Our experience was beyond disappointing—it was borderline absurd—and we will absolutely not be making the mistake of trusting this provider again.

Horrible experience. Had an appointment set for 8:30am and had to work at 9am, the doctor never even showed up for my appointment. Called the help number, she said they would call back and that he had openings all day. Never happened. Pretty sure they still billed me for the appointment, that never even happened. I needed psychiatric care urgently for medication purposes, and had to resort to all kinds of things to secure my refills. This service is a joke I would not recommend to a single person ever. I’ve never once written a review for anything, had such a horrible experience that I felt it was necessary. Stay far away.
