Thank you for taking the time to express your concerns via email correspondence. I was very sorry to learn that you had an unfavorable experience with our company. Safe Home always strives to meet the highest standards in our industry. Concerning your specific claim, you had mentioned in your post that you had not been aware of the requirement for the permit. I wanted to point out that every city and county has its alarm systems and permit regulations. In addition, cities and counties are free to modify their requirements as they deem appropriate. As such, it would be virtually impossible to have a comprehensive knowledge of the needs of all cities and counties at all times. It is for this reason that the alarm monitoring agreement which you signed includes a provision that states that in the section entitled, “Customer’s duties,” that, “You will obtain and keep in effect all permits or licenses that may be required for the installation and operations of the system.” As such, all customers are advised when the agreement is signed off on the potential requirement of obtaining and maintaining an alarm permit. Please provide us with your contacts information Please also note that the final portion of your agreement does specifically reference the possibility of a requirement of obtaining a permit and states as follows: “The city or county in which your Home or business is located may require that you obtain a permit for the use and monitoring of the System. Local authorities may not respond to alarm notifications until all permits or licenses for use of the System have been obtained, and therefore we may not begin monitoring until you have obtained at your expense all necessary permits or licenses, and provided us with the license or permit.”
