When my contract expired they signed me again for a five year service the I didn't approve or signed. When the five year came they told us the we need a 30 day note for them to cancel on the expiration day. We send the paper before the 30 days. When my husband call they said the note need it to be 60 days. When I call they said 90 days. They make him sign for another year and I said absolutely not. As today the account has not been cancel. The lady by the name of Princess said she will not cancel my account. Now is time for a lawyer for them to look at my contract when I signed up for this company. Shame on you all. Maybe I can sit home and no longer work. See you in court

If I could give them a zero -- Won't return calls
If I could give them a zero, I would.
I signed a 36-month agreement with them in July 2023. I now want to cancel my service, but they are insisting that it continues for two more years. The copy of the agreement that I have was sent to me by them.
I have called 4-5 times and each time I am promised that a manager will call me back. So far ZERO calls have been returned.
This is probably the worst company that I have ever encountered. Don't get involved with them.

We have been waiting over 3 years to…
We have been waiting over 3 years to cancel our service since we sold the home. We were told we either had to pay monthly or pay 2500 dollars to cancel at the time. We continued monthly. We have called repeatedly in the last few years to check on our account. This month was our last payment and i had my husband call to get the contract and cancellation # for our receipts. He was told that in our contract there is another 5 year auto sign up if not canceled before 60 days of last day. This is the shadiest and worst company i have ever had to deal with. They already got our money for 3 extra years and could have picked up all equipment at the time. Now another 5 years of 96.00 a month. Another 5,760 is insane for a service we don't use and haven't used for the past 3 years. If they do not cancel we will be suing them for past payments and for lawyer fees. If anyone else is having problems like us then i will try to make it a multiple plaintiff lawsuit.

Don't trust Amp Smart
I had an Amp Smart Security System in my home. Several month ago the carbon monoxide alarm went off. I was unable to disable it so I called Amp Smart, I was told they could not disable it from their offie and they could not send a service person until sometime the following week. Meanwhile the alarm was continuing to blast off. I called the fire department. They came immediately to check whether their was carbon monoxide in my home. Fortunately there was not. They took the alarm off the ceiling and tried to turn it off, they also tried to change the battery but it continued to make the loud annoying noise. I had to put the alarm outside in the laundry room where it continue to alarm for several days until an Amp Smart representative finally came. I contracted with a new security company who removed the amp equipment and installed their own equipment. I called Amp Smart at least two times and sent them two letters seeking to cancel my contract which they absolutely refused to do. I offered to pay them $1,000 to buy out the contract which they also refused. I asked how much it would cost to pay for the contract which goes until 2030 and they REFUSED to even provide me with that information! I STRONGLY ADVISE EVERYONE TO RUN, NOT WALK AWAY, FROM ESTABLISHING ANY CONTRACT WITH AMP SMART. They do not provide quality service and they attempt to hold you hostage when you complain!

If I could give them half of 1 star
If I could give them half of 1 star, I surely would. My experience has been terrible. I didn’t know I was in a 5 year agreement until I called in wanting to cancel. The sales lady that I had lied and said there was no contract involved. There was certainly no mention of a 5 year contract at that. Whenever I had issues with the cameras or the doorbell I had to fix it myself, mind you 2 of my cameras are up high outside my house. Ridiculous!!! So when I found out about the 5 year contract, I was pissed of course and I called in multiple times wanting to cancel and of course they told me I could not cancel I had to ride out my contract then I was told on multiple occasions I would have to pay over 1k to get out of it. My contract is supposed to be up in October and I am sending out cancellation letters NOW because I am so over this company. I would not recommend them to ANYONE!!!! And if you had a good experience thats great at least someone did. RUN from this company, very shady tactics to gain business.

I have been a client for well over 5…
I have been a client for well over 5 years, I recently experienced a problem with my door bell camera.
I contacted AMP about this situation and paid for a new door bell camera. This all began on June 1st It is now July 20th. After many calls to the company to have this situation resolved I’m still waiting, needless to say I am a very unhappy customer.

I called to get my front camera…
I called to get my front camera replaced. It has been replaced 3 or 4 times and keeps going out. First representative was great okay coming on this date to replace it. Ok let me check the date. Then it started I hit the wrong button and cut her off. Big mistake. Called back got a different rep. This one had of heavy accent and smart mouth, rude unprofessional no help. Constantly talked over me. Could not listen. I finally said cancel the service. Well they won’t fix it or stop charging me for 10 months. Do Not get involved with this company.

‼️ DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Cancellation nightmare + tips
We’ve been AMP Smart customers since 2019, and for years they were genuinely great: quick, friendly service every time we needed them—I even have a 5 star review I gave them a few years ago. That company no longer exists and I would give them zero stars if it were possible.
For over a year now, AMP Smart has been completely unreachable—the customer portal is down, their phone number rings and rings before disconnecting with an automated “no one is available” message, their website throws critical errors, and emails to customer service go completely unanswered (I have documented, repeated attempts on all of these going back to March 2025). In that time, they raised my monthly charge from about $70 to $81.56 with no notice I can find, and I get zero actual service in return: no monitoring calls, no functioning equipment support, nothing. I’m paying $81.56/month to what is, at this point, functionally a shell that cashes checks and answers to no one.
If you’re stuck in this too, here’s what I’ve learned:
• CHECK YOUR STATE’S LAWS: Before accepting their 5-year renewal as final, check your state’s laws. Some states legally cap how long an alarm company’s auto-renewal can run (mine caps it at 1 year, regardless of what the contract says). Definitely look up your state’s alarm contractor licensing statute, not just general consumer protection law.
• CANCEL IN WRITING VIA CERTIFIED MAIL WITH RETUEN RECEIPT: You MUST to cancel in writing, by certified mail with return receipt. Email and phone do NOT count (not that you would get a response anyway).
• SEND CERTIFIED LETTERS TO TWO ADDRESSES (not one): their business address and their registered agent (look this up on your state’s Secretary of State / Division of Corporations website (for a Utah LLC, check Utah’s); this is a legally required contact address that’s separate from their customer-facing (nonexistent) side, and it’s much harder for them to ignore).
• REQUIREMENT FOR CANCELLATION: They apparently REQUIRE you to include your account password in writing to verify your identity (yes, it’s an odd ask, but it’s their own system’s verification method, not technically something scammy on your end, so I wouldn’t worry about including it in a letter addressed directly to them via certified mail). NOTE: this is the one-word password that is on your initial contract and the one you [used to] use to verify over the phone with them—it is NOT your app password
• FILE COMPLAINTS WHERE YOU CAN: File with your state’s consumer protection division, the state where the company is registered, and the BBB — I’m doing all three. None of these guarantee a resolution, but they create a paper trail and add pressure a single customer can’t generate alone.
How they can keep billing while providing literally nothing is a separate, infuriating question. Unfortunately, functionally, nothing stops it automatically. You have to be the one to formally end it, in writing, with proof of delivery. Don’t wait as long as I did, assuming that it was a glitch and just not realizing how much time had lapsed.
