I ordered something April 25th, Saturday. It was the end of the Viz sale and I decided to place my order. They didn't even get it shipped and half of what I ordered went out of stock and told me I would have to wait until they were in stock, when they WERE IN STOCK WHEN I PLACED THE ORDER. The lady was extremely rude and I told her to cancel. They will never get my business again.

Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service! I purchased something that came broken in the mail, but they do not pay for return shipping even though item had nothing to protect it via shipping. No padding of any kind. I called in to inquire about this with a representative and he told me to shop elsewhere that's their policy.
If the policy is to force customers to pay for return shipping, then more care should be taken in the way you package out the items so they don't get damaged in the first place! If you are going to stick with that then revise your packaging methods, you probably won't run into as many of these problems as it seems to be a huge negative against you.

Normal-Expensive-Slow
Good Things:
-Huge Variety of Products.
-Many Limited/Exclusive Editions in Products.
Bad Things:
-Prices are always Expensier. (Discounts = Normal Price in other shops/stores)
-Shipping is way Expensier and not the best one (International).
-Customer Service is kind of bad.
Only ordered once: Expensive Price (found other sites with cheaper prices but not able to ship), Expensive Shipping (The Fast Shipping isnt fast at all).. but at least the product came 100% Mint, New and Original.
This site is one of my first options to get merch, but most of the times i end ordering from other sites, cause i find cheaper prices and faster shippings.

You want to buy it from them! Stop looking! This is the one!
I haven't found a better place to order my anime-related goods. Highly recommend! I have already purchased from them a dozen times and will continue to shop with them. Never had any problems with anything I've ordered and everything came nicely packed and on time or earlier than expected. On one occasion I did have a minor issue but that wasn't due to anything they did, in fact, it was a mistake made on my part when placing the order. I say this because I would like to compliment how great the service was when I called in to fix my mistake. Took about 10-15 minutes to get everything in order and back on track. Quality service! Great sales! The best place to order from.

Stay Away. Find a different company to deal with.
My son purchased several anime DVDs and box sets. I used my credit card to purchase. Apparently, about a week or 2 later, my son (who is special needs) received an email that appeared to be junk as it was not identified as coming from Rightstuff. Today we received an email stating that the order had been cancelled. I called RightStuff to inquire as to the reason the order was cancelled and was told it was because I did not respond to this other email. Now they will not honour the price on the original order. Never, ever in all the years of purchasing online have I ever had to respond to an email to verify that I actually made the purchase. I do not recommend purchasing anything from Rightstuff. Find a different company that wants your business, because clearly, Rightstuff does not.
If Rightstuf was a reputable company, they would stand behind their pricing, period. Especially when there is absolutely nothing wrong with the order.
Jake - The addresses you speak of were identical. You keep hiding behind the excuse that it is the fraud scoring software. Yet, the addresses were identical. Right stuff, waited 20 days before sending its first email. This is far from acceptable. As you can see from many of the reviews here, this happens often. Seems to me that Rightstuf is just hiding behind substandard software programs and policies.
There was absolutely nothing wrong with our order. You guys screwed it up and as a result, screwed over a special needs child.
Jake, you said that you cannot honour sale pricing that expired 2 weeks prior. Is that why Rightstuff waited 20 days (more than 2 weeks) to send its first email to us???
None of the reasoning you have provided in any way is reason to cancel our order.
All this company had to do was to honour its pricing, but no, they screw over there clients.
Great business strategy.
There are also many substandard reviews on site jabber and complaints filed with the better business bureau.
Find another company to deal with at all costs. You will get screwed.
Response from Right Stuf AnimeFeb 24, 2020
Hi Russell,
As noted in our terms of service, at RightStufAnime.com we utilize fraud scoring software in order to verify customer orders. The billing address on your order must match your credit card billing address. If software indicates there is a suspicion of fraud, your order may be held for review, or rejected entirely. We reserve the right to decline to ship orders should our fraud scoring indicate potential fraud. In the email, we ask that you contact us within 3 business days or we will regrettable have to cancel the order. I'm sorry but we cannot hold orders or products for 2 weeks waiting for customers to contact us back regarding an issue with the payment method or information.
The emails come from an @rightstuf.com account with your order number in the subject line. So the first email you received that you indicate appeared to be junk would have come from the same email account that you received letting you know the order had been canceled.
We've been in business for over 32 years and do stand behind our pricing. But I'm sorry, we cannot honor sale prices that expired 2 weeks ago.
Best regards,
Jake

Would rate a zero if I could.
Very bad customer service experience. Given minimal solutions to fix a problem concerning a credit card and a less than $25 purchase. Take your business elsewhere.

Half Yes, Half No.
I personally only purchase from Rightstuf if I'm intending to spend over $50 just for the free shipping, but BOY are they a hassle to deal with. I've had mostly good experiences with customer service, except for a few people, but I have one VERY annoying issue 95% of the time I order from them; I put in all of the required information necessary as requested, and somehow, 2 days later I receive an email from Mission Control telling me that I needed to go out of my way to verify my information– Meaning under my circumstances as a domestic customer, I needed to show valid mail with my name and address, certain information on my credit card, etc etc. I asked a woman via live chat why this was continuously happening to me and if this happened to every customer- Not only did I catch a wicked attitude, but she refused to answer my questions and just ignored them ever so bluntly until finally I was done discussing with her and just gave up. I wanted to keep my purchase and keep the bundle offer I had, so as directed, I called WITHIN their telephone hours and was intending on providing the information necessary. Well? I get put on hold for a few minutes, then to be told that I should wait AGAIN for another representative to speak with. I do, and the end result is that the programmed messenger tells me to leave a voicemail stating my case, information required to be reached, and my order number. I do that, and then THE NEXT DAY they cancel my order! I ask why to yet another live chat assistant, and he told me it was because I did it too late– Yet was told I had 2 and a half days to reach them, and I did this all on the first day?
Rightstuf has great deals when they're around, the packaging and quality of the items are always outstanding, the shipment time can be a little slow and sometimes VERY quick depending on your order, and I actually have had some helpful and kind transactions wih live chat employees– However, they really and I mean REALLY need to shape up on that issue. I've had times where I actually haven't had to go through that nonsense, and now all of a sudden I had to start calling rather than verifying the necessary information through email when it does happen, but when sales are active they're very convenient to purchase from. All in all? Purchase from Rightstuf when sales are around.

Money Hungry Company Terrible Customer Service
My boyfriend placed an order with this company for his friend for Christmas. He paid with his debit card and had no issues with billing. The Postal Service read our address incorrectly and had his items get returned back to the sender because the person they tried delivering this to, which was not my boyfriend refused to take the packages. Our apartment building is 7046, and there is another building next to us that is 7046 and 1/2, which is where the Post Office tried delivering it to. We have tried going to our Post Office about this so many times and they never do anything for us. They just claim that their mail carriers are aware of which addresses they need to deliver to and there shouldn't be any issues. When my boyfriend tried explaining this to Right Stuf customer service through both email and the phone, they told him that there was nothing they were going to do. They are going to just simply give him a refund for the products he ordered, but are deducting an EXTRA charge for sending it back and also charge him a restocking fee for the POST OFFICE'S ERROR. Any other company we've had shipping problems with never blames us, they always say they will reship it to another address. But Right Stuf has just decided to blame him (the customer). So now his friend is not getting his gifts, because Right Stuf refuses to resend anything without charging extra. My boyfriend in total spent about $100 on two different orders and only got a refund of $22. And the woman on the phone just told him to reorder when there is another sale because he purchased these items during the holiday sale which is no longer active. This company's customer service is awful and they are so money hungry it's sad. I don't reccomend buying from them at all. I am certainly never giving them my business again and am making sure to tell everyone I know not to order from them either.
