I've had issues from the beginning
I've had issues from the beginning. Every issue involves dealing with the the poor designs and cheap components. Things look sleek out of the package, but hidden damages, defects, and poor design will be the beginning of your headache. Not too mention their customer service is useless, and you're lucky to get a response in 48 hours. Ride1Up responded publicly claiming this is "likely" just a failed cadence sensor and that the bike isn't poorly designed. That ignores the actual history of this bike. In three years I've already had two controller failures, one motor replacement, brake failures, and now a pedal assist failure, all before 450 miles. The condition of the bike is Used - Like new. Support has repeatedly thrown me for a loop. The founder immediately jumped in to respond to my review and support email thread, then gives the conversation back to the original support member after not hearing anything for another 24 hours. I have familiarized myself with this bike after multiple major component failures, and every mechanic resource has agreed with me on the design aspect. I'm not willing to continue paying for replacement parts on a bike with this track record. Judge for yourself, but my experience has been that the advertised value disappears shortly after receiving the bike. For me, it started after 25 miles on the bike.
