I bought the grill beginning of the season. Did not even make it a couple months before components started shorting out drive screw bound up and locked up, impossible replace got a hold of the store. They gave me 1- 800 number to call they told me to buy the newer model, yes because the older model lasted a couple months, so yes, I wanna shell out more money to have more junk from this company 10 out of 10 would never ever do business with pit boss again, it’s sad i had to go to the Internet because your company won’t listen, great company customer service. when companies don’t care anymore, all they care about is getting your money and and running sad. I can only imagine how they treat their employees if this is how they treat their customers.

Edited on 02/05/2024 to increase to three stars: On 01/10/2024 I also left a review of the parent company, Dansons, on the BBB website. A rep reached out to me and after seeing screen shots of the chat and photos of the unit, sent us a new unit for which I am thankful so increasing from one star to three. --- My smoker arrived damaged. As it was purchased as a gift there was over a 30 day delay in opening the box and seeing the smoker/damage which translated to both Tractor Supply and Pit Boss using as an excuse to not concern themselves with the damage. I contacted Pit Boss over a month ago and they said that they would send a new meat probe which has not yet happened. I contacted them a second time today and was again told that they'd send one out. We'll see. When I asked if the probe system would be under warranty as we are not yet sure if it is only the probe or the entire system that is broken (along with a scratched and dented interior which Pit Boss has made abundantly clear is not their concern or responsibility) I was told that I wouldn't be given a different answer then I was "previously met with" and then abruptly disconnected from chat. Ummm. Okay. No previous answer was given that I can remember... other than that they don't see my concerns about their product as being their concerns. They want my money for the damaged smoker but don't want to "listen" to me tell them of my being upset about paying over $500 for a broken/damaged smoker sold as new. Their customer service acted as if my concerns regarding substantial issues tried their patience. They are not a company that wants to provide a good/solid product. And using a 30 day policy when a 90 day policy is the norm is ridiculous, especially when overweight shipping is involved. My experience with Pit Boss has made me regret upgrading our smoker and I would caution others. I wish I would have chosen a different smoker/ company. I have no doubt that there would be a different outcome on a brand new item.

Pit boss is denying my warranty as the smoker was not bought at a Lowe’s. I find this extremely disingenuous and dishonest. They put stickers all over the box and the display stating 5 year warranty on any pit boss manufactured by dansons. To hide fine print only available online that states “only Lowe’s” is just corporate greed lying about their intentions.do yourself a favor and buy something els

Poor quality, poor service, and a lawsuit waiting to happen. Our pitboss caught fire while smoking a brisket, the hopper and auger system malfunctioned apparently allowing the hopper itself to catch fire. Now we are stuck without a grill because Pitboss does not want to honor the warranty. They will give you the run around, asking you to dissasemble it and work on the 120v electrical, send you random parts, and make excuses when the random parts don't solve the problem. Their goal is to give you the run around until your warranty expires. We are lucky enough that it didn't burn the house down or start a fire in the neighborhood. I will never trust another pitboss grill, this is a company that does not care about their customers.

I have a series 4 Pro vertical pellet smoker purchased from Lowe’s. So far my experience has been very good. As with all cooking devices there is some trial and error with dialing in for great cooking. The product performs as expected. Temperature is held well but note that on colder days you will need to bump it up some to offset. Recently I had some issues with connectivity in Bluetooth and WiFi. I called Pitboss and spoke to a customer representative. They listened to my issue and sent me a new control module free of charge plus very good repair instructions. That is great customer service. In summary, great product and great service. Good job Pitboss team!

Ultimate grill? Ultimately glad I didn't buy it. I tried to purchase one of Pit Boss's $700 grills online. They have an exclusive contract with Walmart who was out of stock. I went onto PB's website, and there's no customer service contact info; only self-help pages (first red flag). I messaged them on Facebook and got prompt answers, none of which were helpful, though. They claim to offer military discounts, but caveat it so that it wasn't applicable to what I wanted. Then they want to charge $150 for shipping. I've had washers, dryers, tires, and who knows what else shipped, and never has anything cost $150 for shipping (red flag number 2). After getting nowhere with pit boss customer service via Facebook to get the grill I wanted, the rep got cheeky (became a smart a--) . . . red flag number 3. So I then went back to read reviews to see whether this was a company I actually wanted to support with my money and found lots of negative reviews on both the products and the company. Red flag number 4. I'll be looking elsewhere for my new grill because I don't need to spend a weeks wage to receive a questionable product from a company with poor customer service (once you DO figure out how to contact them online). I'm now wondering if Walmart is choosing to be "out of stock" because 16 percent of reviews are 3 star or less, not because of supply chain or other issues. 274 reviews on Walmart, but only FIVE reviews (4- and 5-star, coincidentally) on the PB website . . ?? . . sounds fishy.

Absolutely the biggest waste of money ever. I spent $500 on a vertical smoker and have yet to be able to use it on 2 back to back occasions. I've spent hours on the phone with customer service. Spent weeks waiting on replacement parts to come in the mail. The only place that seems suitable for my smoker is the dump. Do yourself a favor and stay as far away from pit boss as you can.

I received my pit boss Lockhart grill on October 13. I bought it directly from pit boss after delivery I noticed damaged package I open package did not see any damaged I put the grill together. I stepped back to look at it then I seen a big dent in the hopper, I took pictures I sent them to Pit Boss and I have been totally ignored. I thought by getting it from Pit Boss I would get a better product but in fact I should’ve just got it from Walmart. I could’ve easily returned it for an undamaged grill pit boss has ignored my emails and pictures. I thought I’d be saving money but I really didn’t. They charge me $165 for delivery very disappointed.
