Everything was fine and as promised up until my landlord's third party service reached out to the provider to verify the legitimacy of the ESA letter. They (pettable) requested that I purchase an additional package for $50 in order for the provider to respond to the third party service with a simple "yes" answer. So if your landlord actually checks the letter, be prepared to fork over another $50 that pettable won't bother telling you about beforehand. Their advertising is dishonest in this manner, and when I need to get another ESA letter, I will be looking for another service.

To clarify, our base ESA letter package includes the evaluation and letter, which is accepted by most landlords without further questions. However, in rare cases when a third-party verification service is used by a housing provider, additional administrative work may be required outside the original scope of the letter. The $50 fee covers the provider’s time to respond to these external verification systems, which often involve legal documentation or online portal submissions. That said, we hear your concern loud and clear: this should have been communicated more transparently upfront, and we apologize if that expectation wasn't properly set. Your trust is important to us, and we’re constantly working to improve how we explain these less common scenarios so there are no surprises. We’re truly grateful you gave Pettable a try, and if you reconsider in the future, we’d love the opportunity to make things right.
