I don’t even know where to begin with…
I don’t even know where to begin with these crooks. I waited for over two hours for a warranty repair, only to be told to come back a few days later after no one even touched my car. Then I came back and spent five hours to be told it’s not going to be repaired. Opened a case with their corporate office who never followed up with me after waiting for days. They claim they called me and I hung up on them. I’m trying to get them to fix my car so why would I hang up on them? Then I spoke to a manager who said he would get me a refund, but never did and won’t contact me. So filing a complaint with NJ Division of Consumer Affairs and if that doesn’t help will file a small claims case. They think I will go away, but I won’t.

⭐☆☆☆☆ 1-Star Review
⭐☆☆☆☆ 1-Star Review
If I could give zero stars, I would.
My experience with Pep Boys Store #702 on E. Tropicana in Las Vegas was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had.
I brought my 2014 Chevrolet Impala Hybrid in for an oil leak and paid $765.43 to have the problem repaired. Pep Boys assured me the repair was complete. The moment I picked up my car and pressed the accelerator, it made a loud engine noise it had never made before. My hybrid has always run quietly, and I knew immediately something was seriously wrong. I never even left the parking lot before going back inside.
Instead of taking responsibility, the technician, Patrick, claimed the noise was there before I brought the car in. That is simply false. Then the store manager, Rafael, dismissed my concerns because there were no warning lights on the dashboard, as if that somehow meant nothing could be wrong. Any experienced mechanic should know that not every mechanical problem immediately triggers a warning light.
Pep Boys kept my car for five more days, claiming an inspector would look at it. During that time, no one bothered to keep me informed. I had to repeatedly call the store just to get updates. First I was told the inspector hadn't arrived, then days later I was told the inspection had been completed and nothing was wrong.
When I asked for a copy of the inspector's report, Assistant Manager Scott told me there wasn't one. No documentation. No report. I was left questioning whether an inspection had actually taken place.
To make matters worse, after five days my car was returned to me with the oil leak still there, the engine still making the loud noise, and now the Check Engine light was on. I paid for a repair that was not properly completed, and my vehicle came back in worse condition than when I dropped it off.
Because Pep Boys kept my vehicle for so long, I had to rent a car from Enterprise, costing me an additional $780.00 out of my own pocket. Between the failed repair and the rental expenses, I am out more than $1,545, and my vehicle is still not fixed.
I filed a formal complaint with Pep Boys Corporate (Case #335504) and was informed that my case had been assigned to Field Manager Randy Hodges. To date, I have not received a single phone call, email, or any follow-up from Mr. Hodges regarding my complaint. It is extremely disappointing that after spending this much money and going through weeks of frustration, no one in management has taken the time to contact me or attempt to make this situation right.
The lack of professionalism, accountability, communication, and customer service at this location is unacceptable. Instead of admitting mistakes and fixing the problem, they dismissed my concerns, failed to provide documentation, and returned my vehicle without resolving the issues.
I trusted Pep Boys to repair my vehicle, but instead I was left with a larger repair bill, a rental car expense, and a vehicle that is in worse condition than when I brought it in. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this location to anyone. There are plenty of repair shops in Las Vegas that value their customers and stand behind their work. Unfortunately, Pep Boys Store #702 has shown me the exact opposite.

Untrustworthy establishment
I brought my vehicle to Pep Boys because it was experiencing a significant shaking issue. I specifically requested that the vehicle be thoroughly inspected and test driven to accurately determine the cause of the problem.
Based on your diagnosis, of control arm replacement and front tire and front rims. I authorized repairs totaling $2,291.62. After these repairs were completed, the original shaking issue remained. Your technicians then informed me that the tie rods were the cause and replaced them at no additional cost. When that failed to resolve the issue, they said it was my back rims causing shaking of vehicle, that failed to resolve issue as well. I was then told that the vehicle required a rack and pinion replacement, which would have resulted in thousands of dollars in additional repairs. They said they will order parts and have yet to contact me.
Because I had lost confidence in the diagnosis and lack of customer service. I sought a second opinion from another repair facility. The second mechanic immediately identified the actual cause of the problem: both rear brake calipers were seized, requiring replacement of the rear brake calipers, rotors, brake pads, and brake hoses. After these repairs were completed, the shaking issue was completely resolved.
It is evident that the repairs performed by Pep Boys did not address the reason my vehicle was brought in for service. Had I relied on your recommendation, I would have unnecessarily paid for an expensive rack and pinion replacement while the actual problem remained unresolved.
Additionally, after reviewing my paperwork, I discovered that the invoice provided to me contains another customer's name and address instead of my own. This represents a serious mishandling of customer records and raises concerns regarding your recordkeeping and customer privacy practices.

ZERO stars ... Manager - deceptive, rude
I wish I had the ability to leave a review with ZERO stars. Today was the first time I experienced horrible customer service at the PepBoys Cerritos (South Street) location. My family has patronized this establishment for at least 15+ years; personal and company issued vehicles. Today, Abraham Rios (claims he’s the only location manager), tried to steal $200 from my family by amending the original quoted service price for an alternator repair. When I had the vehicle towed to the facility by AAA I shared with Abraham that the vehicle was being towed and I needed an alternator - he’s initial response was are you sure, you may need a battery. My response was, no I need an alternator. Abraham twisted his face and said you may need a battery, how do you know you need an alternator. I paused thinking I just shared the vehicle is being towed and I only need an alternator - I verbalized again I don’t need a battery, just the alternator. Abraham says who told you that AAA. I responded, yes - two (2) AAA techs gave me the same diagnosis. Abraham stated to me we can check the battery with our diagnostic to make sure it's not the battery - that would be $15.99. I repeated back $15.99. Abraham said yes. I immediately said I do not need that, just the alternator. Abraham began typing again - he finally gave me the quote of $1,074 for the alternator - parts and labor. I repeated $1,074 - Abraham said yes $1,074. I said let me call my husband - so I stepped away, called my husband, and shared the quote. I returned to the counter and told Abraham my husband said no. I left the facility and returned to work. I returned back to the PepBoys, approached Abraham and shared I talked to my husband and he said go away with the service. When I retrieved the vehicle Abraham charged me $1,275 (I was so upset that it may have been $1,274 - I’ll keep saying $1,275 for the sake of conveying the story). I questioned what happened to the $1,074 - his response was it was always $1,275. I challenged the facts because I would have quoted my husband $1,275, not $1,074 (I definitely know it was $1,074 because Kia Cerritos quoted me $1402.80 labor, parts, warranty). After arguing the point, Abraham then tells me fine I’ll give you a discount - he immediately typed on his computer and the new price reflected $1,146.82. I told Abraham (repeatedly) no, put the price back to $1,275 - if he’s standing on that was always the original quote then put it back so I can swipe my card and I'll deal with corporate. Abraham refused to change the final invoice back to $1,275 - I paid the $1,146.80 and left the location.

f I could give zero star I would
f I could give zero star I would. In April my husband and I drove from Massachusetts to Florida. On the way the cars AC started blowing warm air. When we reached Florida my husband took the car to the Celebration Florida Pepboys. We were told we needed a new compressor. The cost was $1100 and take approximately 3 1/2 hours. He dropped the car off at 8:30 the next day. At around 1:00 they called saying the tensioner needed to be replaced. That cost was another $600. At that point we were already hours after the car should have been finished. At 4:00 my husband took an Uber to the shop. He found out they ordered the wrong part and were waiting on a new one. My husband sat at the shop while I sat in the lobby of the hotel we had checked out of until 9:30 at night! The shop closed at 8:00! We didnt check in to our next resort until almost midnight. Two days later the AC stopped working and the car broke down on I-94. It was towed to the Walt Disney World Car Care center. While there it was determined by the mechanics that the compressor was not only improperly installed but the tensioner belt they used was too small causing the tensioner bolt to snap and the belt fall off. The alternator was unable to charge the battery and it was completely drained. It took days for the shop remove the broken bolt. We were left stranded without a car and forced to move to a new hotel. We missed 5 days from our jobs, had to fill emergency prescriptions and take ubers to get anywhere. We have documentation from the garage, the snapped bolt, the wrong belt, a video of the tensioner flopping around and all of our receipts totaling almost 7000 dollars. After submitting this all to Pepboys ,dealing with multiple people over and over it is 2 1/2 months later and we have received NOTHING from Pepboys. We have everything charged on our credit card and the interest is 29.99! Our car still has no working AC and the heat index in Massachusetts is 110 today. My husband drive 40 mins to and from work sometimes sitting in traffic. He has medical issues including a heart problem. We are struggling to meet the minimum credit card payment and are unable to repair the AC until Pepboys reimburses us. We are continually calling and emailing any numbers and emails we have and still have not had one person help us. EVERY single time I have emailed Rhonda Grant in claims Iget an out of office reply! I mean EVERYTIME! I have all the email responses saved to prove it. The customer service sends a stock email claiming to have escalated to the field leadership team. NEVER EVER use Pepboys unless you want to end up in court!

You have far better options!
I would avoid this failed store like the plague. They will attempt to scam you. I went in for tires new tires. The salesman gave me the same old worn out routine, trying to act like he’s my friend. I, a certified automotive technician myself, explained to him that I had just done work to the vehicle and had more work that needed to be done. I explain that the front end had just been rebuilt and that the caster would be put on the alignment. I even went as far as to explain to the guy how easy the camber was to adjust. He assured me the mechanics knew what they were doing. I paid almost $1000 for four new tires and they never adjusted the camber on the alignment that I paid for. Furthermore I had explained to my friend at the counter that the rear lugs were rusted and worn. An issue I was aware of and plan to fix this week. I explained that if they simply used an appropriate wrench instead of an air tool to install just the rear lugs that there wouldn’t be an issue. Sure enough they broke the stud and tried to charge me to replace them. Tried to tell me that I couldn’t take my vehicle in that condition that they had made worse. The salesman also didn’t seem to realize I was in the waiting room while he ran his mouth about the situation to his coworkers. He admitted aloud that he didn’t know if wheel hubs come with new wheel studs (Most do). When my vehicle was finally finished. I received a report from them about the condition of my vehicle. They claimed I needed front brakes, I had replaced them a few months ago and inspected them yesterday (6/24/26) they’re still practically new. The report stated that my front steering knuckle was cracked. I had just replaced that yesterday (6/24/26) and they most definitely weren’t cracked. They tried to sell me a cabin filter and air filter both are good, and why were you in my glove box when you were only changing tires and doing an alignment!?
