Got new tires installed but bought my tires from giga-tires (wholesaler) they overnighted them next day delivery. And pep boys installed and aligned only. Was best price out there w install, tax, shipping, recycle fee all in. Only paid pep boys for install/alignment w a coupon. I had an appointment as well. Took 2hrs. I need to personally mention Robert (the supervisor) and Luis (technician) both have returned back to this location and thank goodness for that. Because of these two stellar human beings who deliver excellent customer service, They have single handedly saved this store! Because of them I'm giving a 5-star review!! Thank you for your kindness and knowledge and solution oriented mindset. These two deliver on professionalism!

I had a screw in my tire on Father's Day and had to travel from Rhode Island to Boston for family. I had an appointment at Pep Boys for 9am and when I got there, they blew me off and told me to leave my car and would get to in in a day. The man there also told me to call Firestone or Mavis as they were open on Sunday. I called this Firestone location, and they took me in right away. They had to turn away a line of people, will never call them again.

Don't bother making an appointment for service. They don't bother to give it any priority over walk ins and it may take all day to get your car back depending on volume. Oil change and state inspection. Left it off at the appointed time. 2.5 hrs later no word. Called and they hadn't even gotten it off the parking lot yet. What is the point?

Please, whatever you do, do not go to the Pep Boys located at 2415 S Vineyard Ave in Ontario, CA. My wife previously took her car there because of a flat tire; the salesperson claimed the tire couldn't be repaired and insisted she buy a new one, charging nearly $400 for just that single tire. The problem is, that recently purchased tire went flat again today. We went to the shop to explain the situation and pointed out that the tire was only a month old. However, after looking at the receipt, a salesperson named Jorge insisted that an appointment was required for repairs—even though the shop wasn't busy at all and there wasn't a single other customer around. It left me wondering: did they want me to leave the car overnight before they’d fix it? Or were they giving me a hard time because I’m not American? Jorge’s attitude was terrible. I strongly advise against going to this shop for any service.

I was told it will take a week to get in the transmission. I was never informed it would not be a new transmission 3. I was not informed that my car needed “ extra parts” only when I asked, and I was not told what parts are needed or why. 4:I was told by Luis that the transmission was delayed. But they would prep my care in the Bay so that when the transmission arrived it would take 1 day. I was then told by the manager Roberta that they would never do this and my car will not be prepped. 5: during the same conversation I was told by Luis my car will be ready In 1-2 days, and when speaking to Roberta- who has poor customer service, the car would take 3-4 days. I believe Roberta stretched it out in purpose because I complained 6. Again in the same phone call I was told the transmission came in the night before by Roberta, yet Luis told me the transmission came in a few days ago Lies, poor customer service, constant delays. 3 weeks later I still don’t have my car and have spent way too much on car rentals and Ubers. I asked for the Managers boss and she refused to give me the contact, told me I would be contacted but 4 days later no call, no update.

As a reminder, since this is the second time I'm writing to you, on May 23, 2026, we took both our cars for their annual Pennsylvania State Inspection (Petp Boys 3475 WilliamPennHwy. Monroeville. Store ID 0225; Order# 2336094). Our 2024 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid passed the inspection successfully. However, the inspection of our 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan revealed some issues that needed to be addressed. I filed a complaint after comparing the prices of the parts you replaced and charged me for with the retail price at stores like Autozone and other online retailers. I learned that you charged me more than double the average cost of those parts, and on top of that, you charged me $99.99 to diagnose the washer system. In response to my complaint, you left a message on my phone. Today, my wife called you to discuss our experience, and as a result, we are even more outraged by the exorbitant prices you charged for your services. They explained that they had charged almost $100 for diagnosing the windshield washer pump, $48.99 for the part, and $122.40 to replace a pump that costs $25 as a genuine Mopar part. It's unbelievable, but it's true.

THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. BEEN WAITING FOR RETURN OF PURCHASED TIRES FOR 2 MONTHS

On May 28, 2026 I booked a tire service online through the Pep Boys website. Their system requires full payment information before issuing a confirmation number in which I received confirming my transaction was authorized. I arrived at the Tallahassee Florida location for my scheduled appointment only to be told by the employee that I still owed the full amount despite presenting a valid confirmation number. When I asked whether my original tires could be reinstalled so I could return at a later date I was told I would be charged installation fees regardless. I called Pep Boys customer service directly from the parking lot and was told the representative could not assist me because the booking was made online. I left that location embarrassed and in tears. I had planned ahead, paid online, and arrived on time. The reason my payment declined was due to a duplicate charge from another merchant that had frozen my available funds through absolutely no fault of my own. My confirmation number proves I authorized payment in good faith and Pep Boys refused to honor it. Having no choice but to leave without my car I was forced to contact my mother for emergency financial assistance. Pep Boys says 'People love us.' I am not one of those people after this experience.
