Did Not Live Up to Their Claims
I have purchased a Co2 laser in the past from a USA retailer and so I am familiar with the technology. I received Omtechs 60 watt co2 laser on time was a positive. I should have known at such a low price that the machine quality would correspond as well. They don’t disclose this. But after I reviewed their company more - it is a made in China machine. It’s not a machine for businesses needing to quickly or for retail quality produce items for resale. It did operate after reading the manual. But it is quiet slow- maybe 300 mm per second raster engraving. But the resolution quality is what made me send my unit back for a refund. Mainly Laser etching inconsistency which left burn marks across wood. Laser cutting capability was not close to their suggested chart that Sales provided prior to purchase. The 60 watts tube cut through maybe 1/4” SOFT wood at full power. They claimed double that at 50% power - which is false! Tech support was practically impossible to reach and could not help me fix the laser mainly because that’s just how it ‘worked’. The refund was difficult mainly because I had to work the logistics out myself to schedule pickup.
