We got MedicalGuardian due to the fact they say they have a range of up to 1300'. We thought this was great since it would cover the yard as well as the house. When it arrived, I got it up and running and we started testing various locations. The guys that answered our test calls were very polite and had no problem with the multitude of tests I did. When I went outside to test, we got almost nothing. I was nowhere near the limit on distance so I called to find out what was up. The technical support tried to blame it on the metal roof even though the system is line of sight and we aren't going through the roof. I was transferred to a higher level of tech support but he came up with basically nothing even after I asked if they some sort of antennae I could put on the outside to transfer the signal in. I called my husband, an engineer, to get his opinion and asked him to look at the wall mount button to see if it was more than that. Apparently it is. I called the tech guy back and he thought that was a great idea ( why didn't he come up with it?). We got a box and I did another multitude of tests and we are getting better results although not what I think we should. It may take more boxes.

The salesperson gave me adequate information about how the system works and a price if paying by the year, which I agreed to do. She clearly suggested that both my husband and I would be covered by the system for the one price and was sending 2 buttons as part of the reward for paying annually (presumably one for each of us). Several days later, i got an agreement in the mail from "Medical Alert," not Guardian. That in itself was confusing. However most confusing was that they listed only my husband as a user and me as responsible for the bill. In addition, $60 was tacked onto the amount I'd been given initially stating it was for "insurance" with no further explanation. When I called, the man at Medical Guardian explained that they partner with Medical Alert (which I should have been told at the outset and which at least should have been explained when the agreement came), and that he couldn't answer any questions about the contract agreement because it wasn't theirs. However, he clarified that the extra $60 was protection against the machine being damaged, which I did not want. The initial salesperson didn't say anything about this $60 charge. The man I spoke with by phone did agree to write an e-mail to Medical Alert asking them to send me a new agreement with the $60 removed and with both of our names on it and asking them to get in touch with me ASAP. No one ever called me from Medical Alert, and to date, I've gotten no new agreement. I honestly don't know if we're even both covered by the system. Very unhappy with the way this was handled.

The reply is almost instant when the button is pressed. I love that I am protected where ever I am (as long as there is cell service). The only reason I gave 4 stars is that the button is not recessed and is easily accidently pushed. This has happened to me a few times. This is a great service and sure gives me confident feeling knowing I'm connected and can get help quickly where ever I am. Pat

I had gotten a Medical Guardian system after my mother too a bad fall and was hospitalized. She had gotten up in the middle of the night to get something from the fridge and fell. My father couldn't hear her and she had to crawl to where he finally could. I decided then and there to have something ready for them once she returned home. Then I went on the Internet. I researched a bunch of other companies. I'm sure you may be familiar with a few of their commercials on TV. I didn't want anything so huge or intrusive. During my research I stumbled upon Medical Guardian. I saw how happy others were with their services. And as a bonus they were located in my state. I gave them a call and spoke to a very nice representative named Mike. He helped me to decide on what my parents would do best with. He really knew his stuff. He even called me back the next day. That's customer service. The package arrived very quickly. I installed it and went over how to use it with both my parents. We did the test calls and everything worked just as Mike said it would. Then came a test of another sort. Mom rolled on the pendant and set it off accidentally when I want there. The operator was very kind and though they apologized for the trouble, she told them it was fine and she was glad all was okay. So now both my parents and I know they can handle it if the situation does come up again where help is needed and they can't get to a phone. I know we are all sleeping alot better at night thanks to Medical Guardian.

This is the best product on the market. The staff is great and they are very good at explaining the process. I live far away from my dad, but it is like they are right there with him. I'm glad to have the ability to have such great people caring for him. The money is worth the peace of mind. The product is very easy to use and set up. They were there checking on him within seconds when he fell. I would never choose another company. They are great!

I had some reservations at first I had been with Life Alert for 3 years and it was not the best experience and it was even worse when I went to leave them so I really looked hard to find a company I thought would be a good one. All the research I did and people I talked to recommended this company but still I was a little nervous until I got to talking with them on the phone and they were so nice and didn't hesitate to answer any questions that I asked. They were not in a rush to get me off the phone they wanted to make sure I understood everything and that I felt comfortable with my choice they even told me to take a couple days think it over talk it over with my husband and call them back when I felt like it. They were not after the sale but after helping me that's what I love the most. I've not had to use them yet but so far I love this company.

I contacted and reviewed about 6 other companies that handled an alert device. Paul Barris was the most upbeat, not pushy, and super easy to understand resprentative in the business. I discussed options with Paul and said, "I would like to discuss these with my sister over the next week and get back to you." He didn't hassle the deal at all. Infact, I called him back at 7am a week later to tell him what we wanted and he was overjoyed and ready to help! Kudos Paul!
