WARNING: do not let these people have you information, they are operating a predatory scam! Medical Guardian is a predatory agency, they are very expensive and even after canceling several years ago, an account we set up for my grandma they continue to try and charge us. I can only imagine that they are operating the same way with the old adult community they serve. It is also super difficult to reach anyone within Medical Guardian to cancel or dispute charges.

I would give zero stars if I could. Watch I bought for my mother never worked. I returned it during the trial period to BestBuy and notified them. My credit card renewed in the interim and I noticed two months later they suddenly were trying to bill my old card. They never billed it before because we returned the watch. I contacted them and they said it was because I had not sent a cease and desist letter, but they said they saw the return and would stop if I sent the letter. I sent the letter and then a month later somehow they got my new card number and billed me. More than unethical, down right criminal.

When comes to the billing I agree they NEVER notify u when a payment is due. I'm pleased with the service but the billing pretty much a thorn in my BUTT. Was pay in 45.94 a month rate went$2.00that didn't bother me. Until the following month just outa the blue without notice they upped it to$49.94 per month. Looks like they pretty much do as they please. And us Veterans and seniors are the ones suffering for it.

Called to cancel service and had my Father return the unit. They continued to bill me! I called to ask why they continued to bill me months after I cancelled my service....the service is obviously not being used!! They told me they would continue to bill me until they receive their unit. Fortunately I caught the autopay quarterly charges six months later. An ethical business would stop assessing charges at customer request and warn of a final equipment charge if the unit is not returned within a particular time frame. Nope....they would rather continue charges at all cost!! Now....if I can’t confirm that the unit was shipped or found....I now have to pay for the equipment!!!

May 11, 2020 I called MG to tell them that there was a problem with my mother's sensors. Well, here we are exactly one month later and there is still no signal. They've sent out 4 technicians and replaced everything including the box and I'm still waiting. The representatives and the supervisor, Juanita Walker, are very nice and apologetic, but they keep dropping the ball. They initiate very few updates, it's usually up to me to contact them to find out what's going on. I'm sitting on hold with them right now as I type this complaint. I live 2 hours away from my mother and have no idea what's going on!!! We pay $1,000 a year for an inferior company. I dropped the fall notification option because when my mother fell there was NO notification to me or the company. We depend on these people to assist us in protecting our loved ones and they've failed miserably. I strongly suggest you skip this company and find a more dependable one. Too much is at stake and hope is not a strategy.

I was first contacted by Best Buy about getting a fall alert device which I had been thinking about getting for my mother. We received the device that hangs from the neck but found there was a device that could be worn on the wrist as a watch and got it replaced at the same price and got it all set up with Medical Guardian. Couple months later had problems with it connecting with the service and they Medical Guardian sent out a replacement. A few months later had the same problem and again Medical Guardian sent out a replacement. The watch has to be taken off and charged every day and it had been months since my mom had used it and I decided I would look for something less expensive and cancel Medical Guardian. When I called them they talked me into something less expensive and something that didn’t need charging.. great! Later I was paying bills and noticed Medical Guardian listed on my bank statement as well as on my Best Buy statement... WHAT!?! I have been charger for two accounts for over a year and never contacted by Medical Guardian about why there has not been any detected service for over a year. When I called to ask about it they sent me out a cancellation letter to sign and return. I received the new equipment in the mail with no return label for the other equipment. The new equipment was a little complicated setting up and the operator never answered the unit when set up.. I just had major surgery and had no time for this service sometimes and sometimes not so I called Medical Guardian to cancel this new service and to make sure all the services I am being charged for is cancelled. Pretty clear right.. wrong. I had the most difficult time trying to get through to the cancellation person at Medical Guardian and she kept talking over me even when she said she was going to just listen she kept talking getting me more and more frustrated and continuing trying to talk me into keeping the device just sent out and not acknowledging the two different accounts I had been charged for and automatically drawing from. I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t going to be billed any longer from Medical Guardian and she had my information in front of her and she could have made it simple instead of getting me so upset as though she feeds on it. I was billed February 3rd and February 17th for $49.95 each and I contacted them on February 25th to cancel service... no refund at all. Oh and when I called on the 25th I wasn’t aware I was being charged two different times.. one through Best Buy and one through my bank account... and she didn’t ask me about it either. But since I had major surgery and just now able to do a few things without a lot of pain this is when I noticed Medical Guardian showing up on two different accounts. I’m used to having Best Buy account on automatic pay each month but had time to look this month and found this... What are you kidding me.. I am soooooo upset with Medical Guardian. I have no idea where they had cause to create another account. I guess when they contacted me to get my bank account number to pay for the service. I didn’t know I was paying for the service through Best Buy too. I might look into some legal advice.

Beware! if and when you return your unit, they will charge you per day AND a $50 restocking fee!

Originally I was happy with the product and service. I purchased the watch for my mother at Best Buy, set it up and worked great at first. We had a few months free service which was spotty. Understandable considering we have issues with cell phones all the time. We decided to cancel the service when the watch became damaged due to sweat and was told to buy a new one. Not paying for a new one so we decided to cancel. I was told that it would take up to a month to process the cancellation. I spoke to them in Oct to cancel and Nov to confirm cancellation. Fast forward to January and February 2020. My card is still being charged. Havent been able to get someone on the phone. I just want it canceled and no more charges. If Medical Guardian can figure out how to keep at risk individuals safe with their systems/devices then not continuing to bill people after they cancel should be easy. It should not take 30 days to complete the cancellation considering they are quick to take your money to activate the product. The headache their deceptive billing practices give is not worth it in my opinion.
