They held my money for almost 3 weeks. Only after the money was deposited into the account (on July 20th), was I informed that it could not be moved from the account externally up until 90 days after the deposit was initiated. I had to close the accounts in order to get my money back (August 10th). The customer service is what sucks the most though, I had to wait at least 30 minutes to talk to a person each time I called customer support and half the time I kept getting routed to another agent which also sucked.

In March of 2026, Marcus advertised a bonus offer for opening and depositing funds into a savings account. ($750 for 50,000 deposit and $75 for 10,000 deposit) - you had to deposit by Mar 11 and keep it in the account with no withdrawls for 3 months. I followed those rules and I am now told that I had to enroll / apply for this offer in order for me to receive my bonuses. There were never instructions for enrollment or a link provided, etc. When I asked customer service, they said that it was in the fine print in terms and conditions. So I would have had to read all of the terms and conditions and notice the instructions for applying for this bonus. They now refuse to honor this offer. Extremely disappointing -- I will be withdrawing my funds as soon as possible.

Just a heads-up if you're planning to deposit money with Marcus by Goldman Sachs. I requested a simple letter for my CDs, and they told me it would take 7–10 days. For something that should be straightforward, that's surprisingly slow. In today's world, I expected much better customer service and turnaround time.

Be aware that Marcus Cash ISAs are non flexible so if you move money out during tax year you cannot put it back in later in the tax year. I've just been caught out by this and I don't think Marcus make this at all clear on their website until you try to put the money back.

This is one of the worst banks I have ever dealt with in my life. They can not get their system fixed. They can not get my money transferred. Horrible CS. Managers are also the same. Never keep the money with these idiots.

Horrible service by phone supervisor and staff

Computer got hacked. Called Marcus to prevent withdrawals. Kept getting verified. 5 call transfers later they needed to transfer me to a 6th. 1 hour and 6 minutes and still not blocked. Ended up just transferring money out to a place that cares about accomplishing something. Particularly when worried about a dangerous situation.

You cant transfer money back unless you call but the part about that is, you will be on hold for 6 hours when you try to call. I had to even MAIL something to even get my money because they don't even have an email. They are so hard to get ahold of, and don't have good resources at all. I have been trying to get my money for a week now.
