I'm surprised at the negative customer service reviews. I chose and stay with them because they are the only bank I have encountered that uses US-based and friendly customer service reps. They also give me great interest rates. However, like others, I did have an issue with them holding a large deposit for too long, and it was a direct transfer from a large bank. They would not budge and said they always do this in cases of large transfers. They also refused to tell me how long the transfer would be held. I have not had issues with any smaller transfers with them, though.

I've never had any issues with Marcus. My money withdraws quickly and easily every time and it is easy to open a new account with them. I recommend banking with Marcus.

To better clarify my 4-star review, I'll split it into two reviews... Savings: 5/5. Their rates are competitive, website and app are okay, and (this is the big one) they periodically offer bonuses to deposit money into your existing savings account. Highly recommend. Credit Card (GM specifically): 3/5. The rewards rate is good, but this is a review of GS specifically. I had the card when it was with Capital One and the transition was a bit painful. I STILL get paper statements and bill payment notifications despite turning on electronic communications multiple times and messaging with customer service. It isn't a huge deal by itself, but it is annoying and seemingly impossible to stop.
