DON’T EVER MAKE A ACCOUNT WITH THEM!!!!!!If I could put negative 1,000 I would. I have tried to withdraw my funds 4 different times and each time had to call to verify.(no problem) But after verification with bank and joint account owner they still declined saying different excuses each time. They will lie to you every chance they can. Either they are told to do that or incompetent.

Marcus keeps declining transfer of a closed CD account to my bank. First it was security concern, supposedly someone logged in in a different state. 3 way security confirmed, my bank accepted the transfer, but then Marcus reversed the transaction and took my money back. The security department couldn't explain to me why the transfer was reversed. A customer's service supervisor named Steve told me it was the weekend so they had to park the money somewhere and thus, they reversed the transaction and returned the money to my CD. Third attempt for transfer, Marcus coded the transfer incorrectly and my bank had to reject. 4 days later, my money is not in my bank account nor is it at Marcus either. Security supervisor told me the initial reversal was because of security concerns which was already cleared with 3 way confirmation. He tells me the last transfer was successful. IT IS NOT. I now have to dispute that the transaction was successful, so I can have my money back into a Marcus account. The transfer process has to be restarted again if they find my money. BOTTOM LINE, they will do everything they can to NOT give you your money. This clearly violates banking regulations. DO NOT, DO NOT be tempted by their high interest hook in. You may not see your money again.

NC residents please know that Marcus will not accept Letters of Testamentary from the NC probate court. In NC the statutes allow probate courts to use electronic signatures. Marcus will only accept an ink signature, which the probate court may not provide. I live in NC so I'm closing all my Marcus accounts.

Marcus has now blocked for unexplained reasons multiple withdrawal transfer requests multiple times after we spent literally a total of 5 hours on the phone with various reps getting bounced around to multiple people. We have tried both ACH and wire transfers to an external account for a critical transaction. We were assured over the phone the outgoing transfer would process and it still has not. It’s gets continuously reversed by the system. This is unacceptable and merits a class action investigation that they withhold your money. I am hiring an attorney. Don’t work with this bank their systems and processes are clearly broken.

Horrible and time wasting experience to try to get the $$ out upon a CD maturity. They don't want to release your $ and would do many unnecessary steps to make you wait and wear you down. Customer service isn't knowledgeable and overall it was a very UNPLEASANT business experience! Stay away from them....

My 80 year old mother asked me to set up a CD for her and their process made it so difficult that after filling out the info in the on-line application, and then being directed to call in, and spending over 20 minutes with a CSR on the phone, we just gave up and invested elsewhere.

Marcus review I closed my Marcus account on July 23, 2026 and directed Marcus to move funds, over $102,000, to deposit in my South Carolina bank. Marcus improperly coded the ACH to my bank (despite the correct information was displayed in my Marcus profile) and the transfer was rejected and my money was returned to Marcus with a verified ACH tracking number. What transpired in the next 42 days was unbelievable. Nearly 7 hours of phone conversations (mostly on hold) with people who consistently said “I am sorry for your inconvenience” but had no authority to do anything. After Marcus sent my check to my home address without alerting me first, the check sat in limbo for 4 weeks because I wasn’t home and they required a signature. I didn’t receive a tracking number until 3 weeks after it was sent. I was able to pick it up at the local CVS pharmacy because they forgot to return it to Marcus after it wasn’t picked up promptly. When I inquired about the interest on my money (over $300) that Marcus controlled for 42 days, I was told I wasn’t eligible because my account was closed. Marcus said they would send me a check for $25 for my inconvenience. Unbelievable!

take some time, but I’ve never had a problem with that. It serves its purpose for me, which is simply to save.
