JF4 Freedom Sprint Review
I purchased the JF4 Freedom Sprint and was relatively happy at first with sound quality as well play time being approximately 3 hours of continuous use before a charge was required. The main selling point for me was the claim of lifetime warranty printed on the box. Within a little over a year the charge time started dropping off dramatically even though they were only being used once or twice a week and then I noticed a couple of times the unit was not charged at all after charging over night. I figured I must not have fully plugged in but soon after I started to get only about 30 to 45 minutes of play after charging. On my final day before they went completely out I may have gotten 30 minutes at best but being completely ignorant to the fact that the lifetime warranty claim was completely false I submitted a claim. The customer service rep was very responsive and courteous at first but finally after 3 or 4 email exchanges let me in on the fact that there was only a 1 year warranty. Had I known that I would not have wasted his time or mine. See his direct quote below. "I appologize for the misunderstanding , the Lifetime Warranty covers you for the life of the product which is about 1 year. I regret to inform you but the life time warranty is based on the products lifetime not the customers lifetime. Thank you for understanding. Apparently products sold by Jaybird only have a "lifetime of 1 year" I hope everyone considering spending $150 or so is willing to accept that so buyer beware. Maybe its just me but why not just be honest to consumers and say one year warranty? I would have much more respect for Jaybird had I know they are going to go out after 1 year. I hope this review clarifies the lifetime warranty for anyone considering a similar product and I would hope they remove the claim off of the package to prevent false advertising in the future.
