Inogen G5 Unit
The G5 that I purchased is a nice unit. It performs as expected. With the larger battery that I got and in the carry bag it's a little over 5lbs. The carry strap is very adjustable but the detachable pad (Velcro) that you put on/over your shoulder could use more padding and be a little larger. It is as quiet as advertised and the only thing you really hear is a slight noise while it's running and a low popping sound every few seconds which is common in oxygen concentration units. My one big complaint is that the unit draws down the battery if it's not in use. I've found after recharging it to 100% that if you don't use it for a day to two the power drops down to like 97-98% when you turn it back on. It would probably drop more over a longer time of no use.. So it's best to remove the battery if you don't plan on using it for a few days. I'd also have to estimate, at least for the short time I've had it, that the length of time the battery will last may not be as long as claimed. I use mine on a setting of 2 and what I've seen the power level drop down to after like 2-2.5 hours of use when I recharge it makes me wonder how long it will last until it runs out of power. The other issue is this unit, and really all brands and models of these units, is that they are expensive! And Inogen just had a price increase so I was glad I got mine before the increase as it was outright purchased. Also the accessories are way overpriced. All of this is typical of medical equipment. I got mine right from Inogen and the sales rep I had was fantastic.
