We’ve had the unfortunate experience of owning a Holiday Inn Timeshare. We were told that their timeshares were like investments, and that they would rent out our week if we couldn't use it. What they completely neglected to mention either intentionally or through sheer incompetence, was that there were maintenance fees, annual fees, taxes, and all other kinds of fees tacked on their timeshare contracts. Not only that but these charges increase every year with no end in sight! There is no security at their resorts. We overheard an altercation in the next room that lasted for hours on end and no one came even after we called. The rooms are so unsanitary that the last time we visited we found FECES on the bathroom floor. On top of all this, they make exchanging weeks almost impossible. Good luck using the timeshare anywhere that meets basic standards. Holiday Inn Timeshare does not have its customers best interests in mind. They prefer to lie and deceive them into purchasing something without ANY notification of all the extra costs you will have to endure. We urge people to stay away from this company as far as possible. Their customer service is abysmal and it's unlikely you will ever get a response back any money you put in with them! We are truly disappointed, frustrated, and fed up with the whole ordeal.

It’s a bait and switch con. They take your money and there’s no resort available. Instead they send you to a 1 star dump and leave you with the bill. They put us in a sleazy cheap place because they “overbooked” the resort. I had to pay 100 bucks for an upgrade because the room had black mold and feces in it. The room they gave us was selling for $27 on the internet today. I was also responsible for the 200 bucks in resort fees. They were so unethical in their time share sales. They kept me there for more than the 2 hours and wouldn’t stop. It was 3 hours. We almost missed our show. I would never do business with Holiday Inn again after this. When I attempted to cancel the contract within the 10 days (which is written into the contract) they refused to give me an email and refused to discuss the cancellation instead putting me on hold and eventually hanging up on me. After I sent about 10 emails notifying them that I was canceling the contract I finally received a reply. All I can say is that there’s 10 days to cancel if they con you into this.

Absolute scam. My IHG credit card was flagged for fraud after signing up for this nonsense. The website is trash. There’s no app or modern technology to access proper travel websites. The site looks like a 90s start up created by an amateur. The site freezes constantly. If you call to try and book, the people on the phone have no idea what they are doing. Stay the HELL away from them. We were completely lied to. Nothing is what it seems on the tour. It’s all smoke and mirrors. I don’t have regrets in life other than this. If you are at a resort, listen to the speech, take your money and walk out!

I know time shares are a scam, so I go to the “lectures” for their freebies. He told us he has never had one complaint and everyone is so thankful to him and the company. He showed us how we lose money by not owning a timeshare. After he tried hard to make us feel stupid, he turned us over to his boss who tried to make us feel stupid. When we stuck to our guns we were directed to an office where the guy made a sound of disgust as he handed us our money and free points. I was actually thinking maybe we were being stupid until I read these experiences. Thank you those of you who have taken time to confirm the overwhelming advice to not buy a time share from ANY organization. Anyone!!

I’m reading through these recent reviews and I have to say it’s like I’m living the last two days of a nightmare that I had with the reservation people all over again. I was told when I was manipulated into buying into this “promotional” vacation package that it would be so simple and easy to book the vacation. Well it has not been, it has been a nightmare! I asked to speak with a manager several times yesterday and the lady on the phone told me that I didn’t have a valid reason to be put through to a manager! I’ve never in my life have had a person on the phone when I’m calling into a company with concerns that I have, that my reasoning wasn’t valid enough in her opinion to speak with a manager. I think it’s time that we come together and start a class action lawsuit against the holiday inn vacation club aspect of this company. Nothing but a scam and liars! I reached out to a lawyer yesterday because at this point I just want my $279 refunded to me, but seriously if anyone else is reading my review I believe a class action lawsuit maybe be the next step and the way to go. Then maybe this company will start being up front and honest instead of scamming everyday hard working people that would like a small break from their everyday lives by going on a nice getaway.

What didn't go wrong?? we went for a presentation in Lake Tahoe, NV. First the resort is very remote, you can get a bus down a few times a day but noting to eat at the top except a small sandwich shop in one building. The hot tubs were nasty. I would not bath my dog in them. the sales pitch was supposed to be 1.5 hours, 3 hours laters we are worn out and agreed to the lowest program we could get. then i sent in the buyers remorse letter, signed within 5 days but couldn't mail until Monday morning, 7 days they say. the paperwork never said "post marked" within 5 days. I contacted them and they said "too bad" you signed the documents, you owe us $12,000 to get out of this!! Really, 2 days is $12,000?? I've reported them to the BBB and am still fighting. DO NOT ever buy a time share, there are much better alternatives at better prices at better places. HICV sucks.

Perfect facilities

Complete and total scam... Got a call for a survey for IHG rewards members. I went through it and then they told me they had an exclusive promotion for me for 4 days 3 nights of a free resort stay at any location in the country. I asked what the catch was, and I was told there wasn't one, "We're just trying to show rewards members how much we care for them!" Well, I paid the $200 with the promise that I would get my money back (I was not told I would be getting the money back until after a timeshare presentation) and immediately realized that it was a timeshare program after I got the confirmation email. Tried getting a refund and they were not going to let me until I told them I had drafted a letter to my MO representative and Attorney General. They then changed their tone a bit and put me on with a supervisor. She agreed that I was misled by the original salesperson and agreed to a refund. Very nice lady and I have no bad blood with her, but this entire company is very shady. Don't be fooled, because I never will be again!
