I have no idea what is wrong with these people now I'm a IHG reward member and I needed a reset so I booked to do the timeshare and this time stay on the resort in Orange Lake for Holiday Inn Vacation Club now why booking my reservations I had to pay $ $249 to hold the room it took them Less Than 3 seconds to take that amount off my card it was all paid at once after I did the timeshare and I told these people I wasn't interested they just kept sending more and more people to try to get me to buy this timeshare I told him I wasn't interested we had an impending tornado warning coming in now instead of them giving me a physical master or Visa card for my 249 that I return they gave me a virtual card and telling me that I could use it on it Apple pay Samsung wallet and some other type of wallet which I'm not familiar with I've never used these things it seems as though I'm running to opposition after opposition trying to use the card and to get all my money back at once if they took it at once I've called nobody knows what the world's going on and then you have 12 months to use this thing otherwise they take your money this is ratchet business practices and I don't expect for them to be playing with my money like this I've tried to get a hold to the head honcho over at the Times your place and to no avail beware when you do these timeshare presentations that you are going to get your money back not on a virtual card where you got to go to Apple pay or Samsung pay or Google pay to get your money what is wrong with people these days they're quick to snatch your money what you got to go through changes to get it back this is causing me a great deal of distress and I want my money I'll know better next time tornado or not I'm going to make sure that they give me not a virtual card but a real card physical that has my money back on it this is very nefarious these days people quick to take your money and want to give you a headache to get it back

Fees! Fees! Fees! It was a mistake. Had a terrible experience.

I would like to express our extreme frustration and dissatisfaction with the experience we had with the Club Vacations tour in Myrtle Beach. First, this has been a bad trip in terms of the weather (tropical storm in the area) and the hotel staff did nothing to make our stay better. Although they charged the standard resort fees, all the activities were canceled due to weather, the pool and hot tub were closed. Room service was very limited. The tour staff asked us last minute to change the time to an earlier slot which we accommodated despite some undesirable change of our plans. Our tour presentation was not professional. It was in a crowded area with the loud conversation at a table right next to us which made it more difficult to follow our tour staff. The tour staff had a strong dialect, with a very peculiar pronunciation which was very difficult to follow even though I am fully fluent in English after 30 years living in this country. He did not speak clearly, swallowed words and didn’t look very motivated to sell us anything. I kept asking him to repeat what he said. My wife speaks good enough English and gets around easily in common situations. Sometimes she could not understand the sales person either and I was helping her a bit. It was not a direct translation but my commentary of what was said with my thoughts. The salesperson clearly wanted to go home due to the bad weather which was getting worse by the minute and he clearly looked for an excuse to stop the presentation “not waste our time and let him go to his family” as he mentioned twice. He found an excuse in our conversation between me and my wife by calling it "translation" which in reality was mostly my commentary on what was said and not a translation as such, which they don't allow as it turned out. After one hour of presentation when my very patient little daughter wanted to go to the restroom the sales person took advantage of this break and asked his manager to cancel the presentation. This was unacceptable and unprofessional in my view and reflected lack of motivation and ability to sell the product rather than lack of English skills on our side. Then we received a follow up email from Holiday Inn Club Vacations with the payment confirmation for the full cost of the hotel stay (extra $529) which was like adding insult to the injury. We spent 2 hours of our time on the tour with traffic (20-30 min drive one way), had to change our plans last minute to accommodate schedule change request, had to struggle for 60 minutes to listen to the poor quality presentation in a very noisy place, with a hard to follow accent and difficult pronunciation. In the end not only we wasted time on the timeshare presentation but also had to drive from home for 8 hours and pay $530 extra for a useless stay, did not get the promised $100 promotional discount and 10000 IHG points. Frankly, having had a very long relationship and loyalty with IHG most recently as a Platinum member (earlier as an Ambassador) I expected better from this brand. Thanks to this bad experience I will think twice before staying at IHG hotels ever again. P.S. After sharing our frustration on the phone with the customer service, I did get a follow up email and another customer service call with a $229 partial refund so I am adding another star for mitigating our pain a little. Still a far cry from what it would take to correct the situation.

Run from these VERY HIGH pressure sales techniques. We joined 10 years ago and EVERY YEAR "MAINTANCE FEES" for your home club goes Up up up to know 300% more than I originally PAID. My payback now on $30k invested is 40 years....MAYBE ....run run run !!!

I agree with some of what these other commentaries say. For us, Every time that I speak with them the points rules change. I'm talking about when you have to use the points and when they expire. Today I learned that my points that expire this year Must be used this year and Not for a reservation past Dec. 2023. I was told they were good for next year as long as I made a reservation before Dec. 2023. Not true. So, now I have to pay HI some $199 to extend those points till July1 2024. Too mad to ask if we had to actually use them before that date, But probably so. I have yet to see any actual rules for points usage, which figures since Every time that I call, I get a new rule that negates the one that I was told last time. Frustrating to say the least. I would Not recommend this time share to anyone. I would recommend an IHG card and gets point with that, because we have Never had any problems with IHG points and they Do Not expire.
