Nothing but lies! It would be zero stars if that were an option
It would be zero stars if that were an option! Holiday Inn has been a pain and inconvenience for several years, but it has recently been even worse. I have a 2 bedroom “unit” I was told they would convert or transfer into points. I gave explicit instructions for what I wanted to happen: convert my unit into points. At no time was I attempting to or interested in purchasing anything additional. Travis, the consultant, gave me a checklist outlining the taxes, annual club membership, reservation fee, and notice that affiliate exchange fees vary based on location. He assured me my unit would convert to a value of 304,000 points. Nowhere on the checklist was there an amount for a new contract or that any kind of purchase was happening. He made no mention of buying anything new, I was simply transferring my 2 bedroom unit into points for flexibility. Travis explained that the items on the checklist were the only things that would happen and would be considered “paid in full.” He also told me that there was a buy-back program if it no longer worked for me and that HICV had a separate group that would rent it out if I couldn’t use it. NOTHING BUT LIES. I didn’t receive copies of any paperwork until 4 months later and was surprised when I received two maintenance fees instead of one. They never converted my unit to points. Travis signed me up to purchase a slew of new points ON TOP OF my 2-bedroom unit. Travis lied about the true value of my unit/points claiming they are real estate with real property value. I was promised endless vacations at any time, wherever I wanted to go. Also a lie. I could write a book on the number of lies I have been told by Holiday Inn Vacation Clubs! After almost four years of struggling with them, HICV canceled that transaction which immediately impacted my credit score. Now I am stuck with a 2-bedroom unit with people I do not want to do business with. Four years ago when they made the initial mistake, their Horizons Group promised to do a deed back on everything if I made my maintenance fees current. I made them current but once again, HICV and the Horizons Group failed to honor their promise. After paying THOUSANDS of dollars on the fraudulent contract over about 18 months, I canceled the credit card where the payments were taken and refused to give them any more money. HICV, of course, continues to tank my credit rating with a false foreclosure as if I defaulted on real property. I refuse to call the organization again because all their employees do is LIE to the customer. On one call, a man told me he was sending me paperwork for a deed back and hung up on me. A day later, I spoke with someone else who said they do not do deed backs and the timeshare does not affect credit. This contract is showing up on my credit report. They refuse to be honest with me about why they lied and why they will not correct this. My experience with HICV has been nothing but lies and failed promises. My life situation changed last year, and I no longer have the resources to maintain membership or travel, as I am the full-time caregiver for a centenarian relative. I strongly suggest you do not do business with these people. I would hate for you to be in my situation with a company that only wants to continue to scam senior citizens. Stay away from Holiday Inn Club Vacations. They will not do as they promise and will do and say anything they can to sign you up for a lifetime of stress and debt.
