Next time I won't take a job if they use hireRight for verification. This company is unprofessional, they investigate you like if you were going to work for the CIA. I uploaded my paystubs from my 3 pervious jobs and they kept asking for HR numbers, supervisor numbers, I provided all of that, 2 days after they wanted W-2 forms. To his point I was going to contact my HR and ask them for the W-2 forms but that's not my job. I spent 35 minutes trying to talk with a real human and not the lame emails they send you repeating themselves over and over. I'm about to decline my job offer, I really wanted this job. The hiring manager offer me the job at the spot because he saw my potential, only so this morons can almost have me decline the offer. I have had other screening companies in the past, they ask for phone numbers, documentation from previous jobs, emails from professional reference. But not like HireRight who wants me to work for the CIA.

Awful experience. I’ve been through background checks a few times in my 18 year career, never had any issues before. Usually just give names of previous companies, university qualifications, and that’s enough for them to go away and quickly complete any checks they need to do. With HireRight, you fill that in, and then receive (after a couple of weeks!) a series of texts asking you to provide more documents. Even wanted proof of my end date for my current job - which I obviously haven’t finished yet! Tried to send various documents to help them, but got rejection texts asking for further documents.. asking me to contact companies myself and ask for letters on company letterhead to clarify things. Sorry, HireRight, but that’s your job. Isn’t that literally what you’re being paid to do!? You have the contact details, and you then need to do your job and contact them to clarify the information I’ve given you. Happy to do your job for you if you also want to pay me your salary. But even then you’d probably ask me to provide a start date and end date for my work at HireRight!! Zero stars from me.

This is my second experience with HireRight. Where would I start … first time took them 6 weeks to complete my background check, I actually turn down the offer after 4 simply because of that I was tired of this whole process. Now I really wanted this job . Exactly 2 weeks ego process started and I was well prepared - has all previous employer references, provided them phone numbers to HR. Filled in everything the same day when I got the link. After a week they asked me for the info I already submitted . Then I was ask to provide name and a number to specific person in HR - I worked for huge international companies not a small family business . How would I know that. Then they had a problem to confirm my education- even I provide certificate of my degree . My start date is very soon and still nothing done. Past 10 years I work for 3 companies . That’s should be done on the spot. I have done all the job for them . Still can not get that sort it . I just do not understand how they operate ….. I can not imagine if someone would left the job and think they have a star date that day and end up dealing with this stupid company for weeks not getting paid .

Absolutely worthless company. It's been almost 8 weeks since they started my background check and it's still not complete. They made me give proof of what I did when I took a few months off between jobs - even if I had sat on my ass for the entirety of it, it still wouldn't be any of their business. They also continuously ask me for documents that I don't have, even after providing the details of the relevant HR person NUMEROUS times. It seems picking up the phone or sending an email is just too difficult for them. In the future, I'd rather not take a job if they use HireRight to do their background checks.

I had taken reference check by hireright twice recently as I left the first company after 3 months. In the second review, hireright ask me to provide W2 to prove that I work for the company which obviously I cannot provide because not pass the year end. And Hireright just mark me two other working experiences as Discrepancy, given two: 1) they did not ask me provide more information; 2) they have done reference check on me for these two experiences before, and I refer them the previous report.

The worst company I've ever came across. I filled out the information and it won't let me proceed, contacted the hiring company to send me a new link and it's doing the same thing all over again.. Absolutely horrendous and unprofessional, and when you call they'll ask you to try to login in 24 hours and the same problem continues. I just wish companies wouldn't use this TERRIBLE service. My offer will probably get rescinded due to their mess and that's not fair at all.

Extremely incompetent, keeps asking me for stuff that's either readily available or unreasonable to give. As if that's not already annoying enough, every day or two, they will come to me to ask me to sign some kind of document. For the love of god, please just combine everything you need into one email so I don't need to be constantly harassed by their researcher for new information every single day

Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had. And it's not only related to the hiring process. It already goes on for 4 weeks to make a background check, and I barely can believe it will end after 6 weeks in total. They request additional documents, receive them, review them only a week later, then immediately request more additional documents (which could've been requested without reviewing the previous ones) and disappear for another week while not responding to emails! Their support is pretty much blind to emails. Sent them 3 emails after submitting additional docs they requested asking if that's what they need - they stayed silent for a week.
