They are incompetent and obviously don't know what they're doing. Rubbish repeated request and clueless assumptions without even contacting the references. Lazy group of individuals.

This place is horrible. If you are a reputable company please do not use this company as your background service. The turnaround time is beyond ridiculous. They ask for documents and then do not review what you have uploaded and provided to them, causing additional delays when they already have the information. You cannot speak to a live person. They have a chat box that is extremely unhelpful they report inaccurate information that you have to dispute that can take 30 days and , by that time you most likely have lost your job offer. If I would give -10 stars that is what I would give. You can also only email customer support. And what they respond is the same thing over and over it is not helpful. This company should not be operating. Example is my last background check took 72 hours. I’m going on week three with this place.There are numerous negative comments on the Internet about this company. Attorneys asking for people to join class action lawsuits. You can Google it yourself. My personal experience was Horrible. This is a horrible company and experience. You can also make a complaint with the CFPB ( consumer finance protection bureau ) that is what I’m going to do .

HireRight is just incompetent. Even calling them incompetent is an overestimation. Every other background check was able to confirm my background in a few days, but HireRight is taking 4 weeks, and still counting. They have asked the most ridiculous documents, and haven't contacted any of the sources I have given them. The Live Chat is powered by a bot that keeps saying the same things. I'm very worried that their incompetence will cost me my offer. Please HireRight, stop ruining people's lives.

The worst Company an employer can go through! I unfortunately stoped my on boarding process because if HireRight! All I can say is the staff are not helpful and very unprofessional!

Dear companies, please do not use this company, as you run the risk of rescinding offers based off of information that can be proved. This company put me through so much mental stress because they couldn't verify my information. I called my previous employers myself and verified the information because HireRight emailed me a few days after submitting the background check, stating my information couldn't be verified. I was asked to provide w2's for my previous jobs and once I did that, they said that the documents weren't enough to verify my employment there (even though it has my name, information, address, name of the company, and dates listed on the document). Because the w2 wasn't enough, I then asked to send paycheck stubs. Once I did that they still said it wasn't enough. I was then emailed again the next day asking for IRS Transcripts. I provided that and again the next day, I was told it wasn't enough to verify my employment. It should also be stated that when filling out the background check forms, I provided my previous jobs current phone numbers and email address'. So, I called HIRERIGHT and was placed on hold for over 45 min. After seeing that I had no clue when the phone would be picked up because they don't give you an estimated wait time, I selected the press 1 to be called back. They never called back. All the while, I also tried to use the live chat feature to speak with someone. I waited on live chat for the next available representative for over an hour and then randomly the live chat ended, without ever talking with someone. The next day I tried calling again and was placed on another 45 minute hold with the same no-response. Again no one called me back, but I was able to chat with someone on live chat the next day, who let me know that the documents I've provided should be enough. That gave me slight relief as I was expecting to have my background check completed soon within the next few days. Well the next day comes and I was told that my information STILL WAS NOT ENOUGH. HireRight now had my w2s, paycheck stubs, IRS TRANSCRIPTS, phone numbers, and email address to my previous jobs. I ended up calling my future job to let them know what I was experiencing and was told that this company does this all the time. I then emailed HireRight, letting them know that I have literally provided all that I could and don't know what else they expect. I even called my previous employers and verified myself to see what was going on. In conclusion, I think that this company does a TERRIBLE JOB OF VERIFYING INFORMATION, which is their job to do. Please use a better company for background checks because I did all of the work as the applicant of verifying my own information. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY DO NOT VERIFY OR CARE ABOUT THE APPLICANTS AND THE FACT THAT THEY COULD LOSE THIER NEW JOBS BASED ON FALSE VERIFICATIONS.

I'm speaking on behalf of my boyfriend that is a total wreck after starting back ground check with HireRight. I should have the possibility of giving negative stars as after a good amount of days he's been collecting and delivering an absurd amount of documentation that is needed for absolutely nothing, now they say that instead of him starting contract in beginning of March will only start sometime in May?? He's already given the notice to his former employer. Because of Your inefficiency he will I be without a job and without pay for 2 months?? And still have no garanties that I will start in May... Totally negligible and unacceptable behaviour!!

Worse background check ever. They keep emailing and calling the wrong people. Inefficient, slow and highly unprofessional.

I have 15 emails of inconsistencies and why my report is not ready. I have also delayed my start date and can't seem to get an approval. The ONLY people that have an easy process are with maybe 1 job or if they are a large scale business. Wow, talk about horrible for small businesses because they will not connect DBA to Legal. I just want my background released to the employer who gave me the offer and let them determine with the emails and 10 documents of W2s, deposits, etc to determine my resume validity.
