I asked to set up a session with Amy Elizabeth Greene, and it was disastrous. She kept making appointments for me without even asking my availability, then would charge me $400 for canceling the appointment, on the same day? The appointment which she made for me, without asking my availability? Headway gave her a week to respond to my complaint, she did not. So after a week, Headway went ahead and refunded me the original $200. Amy saw that, charged me another $200, and had her boss email me saying it was MY mistake and she stood by this decision. I have all the conversations, so I sent screenshots and asked her to point out where exactly I requested an appointment specifically for August 7th at 4pm, and also pointed out how I did in fact cancel the appointment the day before. In response, she decided to charge me another $200. Headway gave me my $400 refund, so Amy decided to take out another $600 from me. Headway has been helping me and I intend to get this money back, but my bank actually picked up all this activity from Amy as fraud so I am to get a new card so she won’t be able to continue to steal from me. Stay away at all costs. A total scam.

Providers stay AWAY from this place! They will place a complaint against you through the licensing board just to point their finger at you for their fraudulent billing practices! This company is the worst! It's a complete scam! I'm a healthcare counselor provider and I signed up with this company a 1-2 years ago. I am no longer contracted with this company because of all of the billing issues and fraudulent/incorrect billing that they performed continuously. Even though I have terminated all agreement with them and I'm no longer contracted with them they continue to harass me by sending me threatening emails and they even brought up a complaint to the licensing board making claims and accusations relating to a person that I have never even seen or spoken to. They literally placed the complaint to the licensing board accusing me of charging a cancellation fee that I never charge because I never even worked with that person. I don't even know who that person is. Even the person themselves, when asked, confirmed that they had never spoken to me directly and I was never even their counselor. Also, this company sends out harassing emails and correspondence to any clients that the provider puts into their system for billing. So they position themselves so that they are then not just the billers but also the private practice and management all in one. But when they mess up the billing and practice their fraudulent billing practices, which is for the most part all the time, then they turn around and try to point the finger at the provider. The job is already hard enough without fraudulent companies like these making it impossible to help people, this company needs to be shut down. Once everything is sorted with the board, I'm definitely bringing about a lawsuit.

Headway helped me grow my practice and made accepting insurance incredibly easy. For the most part it is user friendly on both ends as the clinician and for clients. Manually verifying benefits is one area that can be frustrating only in that it might take a few days.

Scamming therapists with overinflated pay rates. Don't trust them.

Overall, I really like Headway and do recommend it to others. I think it’s silly some basics are not included on a clients face sheet. Basic info like address and DOB (DOB is on notes, but not easy to glance at). I don’t mind there is no referral or community like there are on some other platforms, but someone else may. I really appreciate the bulk payments and have not experienced any clawbacks. The timely payment is great. I also love that I can “run” a clients insurance and give them a good faith estimate about what treatment will cost them with their insurance.

Starting my private practice was easy with Headway! They quickly credentialed me with 6 major insurance companies. I receive referrals through them, and can also direct clients to their website to work with them through Headway. They do all the insurance verification and billing, saving a ton of time and allowing me to focus on client care. The platform is user friendly and they’re routinely making improvements. There is no live customer service department to contact as support is provided through email. Thankfully this has not been an issue, but would be one area of improvement to suggest. It’s important to note that you are a 1099 employee when working with Headway.

Headway has made starting a private practice easy. They handled all of my insurance credentialing and now verifying client benefits and all of my billing, saving me hours of time each week. Without Headway I don’t believe I would have gone into private practice. Headway also has excellent customer service, whenever an issue or a question arises they answer promptly and I can count on them to investigate any insurance issue that might come up and resolve it accordingly. Headway also treats providers and clients fairly and ethically. Headway provides better rates than other similar services and their platform is the easiest and most intuitive to use for me and my clients. I have recommended Headway to several colleagues and will continue to recommend it without hesitation.
