Hansons did my roof 6 years ago. Been a nightmare ever since. Shingles lifting and blowing off. Vice president Marv called Thursday. Said all will be well. He will take care of it, and I would be made whole. Said he would get back to me Friday. He didn't. His secretary called me Monday to inform me I have call the warranty people who made the shingles, because I paid for them, and own them now. Lol!!! Are you kidding me??? I'm pretty sure I gave Hansons the money for the roof. One year left on my roof until they don't have to do labor. They just keep passing the buck, when the service tech was out here many many times, he said poor shingle placement, poor nail placement, tar paper wasn't put on right. Which is it?? Blowing me off is what their doing. Anyone know a good lawyer??

My deal started back in august 2018 I ordered 18 new windows for the upstairs of my apartment building. After I ordered the upstairs I decided to replace 2 picture windows in the lower apartments. So I placed a call to my salesman that went unreturned so I called the main office in Michigan and ask them to have him call me I wanted to add 4 more windows to my order. Didnt hear anything from him so I made a appointment for him to come to me again which got postponed again. Finally they came and installed all the upstairs and the salesman showed up the next day to talk about the additional windows so 2.5 months after I started trying to add windows he shows up so now a new order told him to late to add to my order so Id pay cash for the 2nd order so we ordered the new windows which I was told I had to pay 1650.00 up front which I did.windows were to be installed before thanksgiving didnt hear anything so started calling finally appointment made for 12/5/2018 for installation get call early that morning saying raining in toledo so they wont be here 65 miles away drizled rain till 10am then sun came out. Never the less rescheduled appointment for a couple weeks down the road (found 2 windows up stairs with broken frames that were installed that way because nobody lives up stairs) when he showed up he was to repair the upstairs windows and install lower ones well he gets here and say they shipped the wrong size windows so he did nothing and left. Since that day be trying to get a understanding on how a salesman a tech and myself can get the same measurement and still end out with the wrong stuff. Now that we have negative temps outside they want to come install which will open a 7ft by 4ft hole while they install. I've been told someone of authority is going to call me to arrange compensation for their mess up but to this day I'm yet to hear from anyone other than the scheduling girls salesman included

Well, here we go...this is a very brief summary of my recent experience with Hanson’s Windows at my home in Sterling Heights MI. This all transpired from September to December of 2018. My brother was living in the home our parents left for us when they passed away. The home was a 4 br colonial, way more than he could keep up or afford (taxes). We decided to sell the home and move him into a condo. So the house went on the market and we consequently got an offer and purchase agreement. One of the conditions of sale was that 4 windows had broken seals and had to be repaired. I had seen in some old paperwork from Hansons while going through their old belongings and found documents stating warranties on the windows. So, I gave them a call and set up an appointment for inspection. (At the same time I got a quote from the local Ace Hardware to do the repairs for between $220 to $250 dollars. I would have to take the windows out and take them in for measurements. They would order glass and seals and install them when the glass came in, about a week...so I would have to take the windows in again for the installation. This was entirely possible because it was early September). In the meantime I met the service tech from Hanson’s and he inspected the windows in question. He looked at the 4 windows and then started to look at other windows throughout the home. I couldn’t figure out why he was looking for other window problems. This later became obvious. He took measurements and when I left him that day he was ordering glass units for the 4 windows and several other windows that he found problems with. Later that day I received an email that Hanson’s had ordered 10 glass units and they would be repaired “under warranty”. Fast forward, the deal went through and we closed on the house in late September. On November 1st I got a call that Hanson’s had received the glass and to set up appointment for the install. (This is where it gets sticky). I had my agent inform the new owners of this. Later on in November and into December the windows had not been repaired. My agent called to inform me that my obligations on the windows was still unresolved and the new owners were getting impatient. So I called Hanson’s Windows to see where the problem was. Apparently, another Service Tech had gone out to do the install but told the new owners the windows they were not Hanson windows and he couldn’t do thr repairs under warranty. So, the new owners got a quote for almost $1,700 for the window repairs and my portion of the repairs was approximately $450.00. I was shocked - but it’s now December and it’s cold. Did I just get scammed???. Why didn’t the original service tech check to see if they were Hanson windows form the get go.... At that point there wasn’t much I could do. Hanson’s had already made me look like a bad actor and the new owners wanted this resolved. So I sucked it up and paid the new owner for my portion of the repairs. So, a word to the wise...think twice before you do business with 1800 Hanson’s. From what I found, even if you get it in writing it doesn’t mean you will get your job done for the price they promised you. Gary Culicerto - Fenton MI

They are beginning the install of my new roof today. Make sure you understand what you are buying from them up front. Also have several other contractors look at the job also. The oops we did not talk about that when it is a normal part of a roof bid game does not cut it with me. You pay big dollars for their roofing and my nightmares began at the delivery of the product to the pass the buck phone calls. Roof isn't done and hopefully I have no more to add when complete but when I read the complaints it scares the crap out of me. My suggestion is to use someone else! Well putting paper and shingles on in the rain which voids the warranty. Control your inventory and be prepared for the next phase. Take plenty of pictures and Hansons does not come out and look during the job because they cannot blame their subs for it then.For the price you would expect far better craftsmanship.

I am currently in contact with Hansons and I'm starting to experience some strong customer service deficits. Their work flow through put process are lacking professionalism. Their customer commitment is substandard. Trying to get my 2nd window installed seems to be an inconvenience for them. No return phone calls. Update: Finally spoke to a Manager John Burgess, that seemed to take ownership of the issues I have encountered. He has assured he would make adjustments to fulfill their work commitments. My window was promised to be installed by Friday 12/21/18 at the latest! Friday am I received a call from Ariel Coriati my project manager. She confirmed an appointment for 2pm. 2 hours later I receive another phone call from the Kalamazoo office cancelling the appointment and offering another appointment after the holidays! I was livid! I demanded the work be completed by Saturday the 23rd of December as I had family flying in for the holidays! The installers were here Saturday and finished on Sunday the 23rd of December! (I was originally projected for completion by Thanksgiving.) January 7, 2019 I spoke to Marv Glazer, General Manager Sales Support for Hanson's. I also sent to Brian Elias a message on Linked In. Marv put an offer of negotiation on the final price for the 2 window job at my home. I called him back today and left him a voicemail to call me back to resolve my account. It's been 3 hours and no return phone call.

Had a bay window installed. It leaked. Try to say condensation until they sent someone out who verified it was in fact leaking and slightly slanted! Got new bay installed. Guess what?? It leaks. Serviceman came out and said condensation from an itty bitty humidifier. I reminded him that we had very heavy rain December 1 and discovered the leak December 2 and just stared running this tiny humidifier for 3800sq ft home a week ago. Already had different company out and they said leak. I ended up kicking the guy out of my house. Don’t use Hanson’s!! It will be a nightmare

1 1/2 stars! Out of the whole experience, we feel we only got good service from the actual installers. Hanson emoyee's measured our windows (twice!) And still got our replacement bay window wrong. Now Hanson's has to remake the window & it'll be another 3-4 weeks for install. OR they can make a complete Bay window (6 plus weeks) for an additional $2000. And now we wait ... even longer. NOT HAPPY!!

The presentation went well, I was pleased with the representative. He was informative and friendly. Until I decline to sign right away and do free advertising. I explained when I setup the appt, this was a project for early next year. Over prices and window education was great.
