The halo collar in theory sounds like an awesome idea....but it doesn't work, not at all. I never even made it outside with the collar. The beacon feedback wouldn't even work properly. It would shock (even with this functionality turned off) and warn my dog when they were nowhere nearby, but they could be on top of the beacon and never receive feedback. Their customer service is also atrocious it takes around 3 days to hear back they give a generic response to reset the collar and then close the help ticket. Thankfully I purchased my collar from chewy and was able to return it.

Works most of the time. Then it drifts off about every 4hrs. My dogs are outside for a long time guarding livestock. This has horrible gps drift and doesn't update until you physically cycle the power/sleep off and on a few times. If you forget or it drifts sooner than that, it starts shocking your dog over and over until you can find the dog and take it off to reset it. You can't track the dog during this time because the GPS drifts about half a mile in some random (mostly north) direction. We asked for a full refund and did not get a full refund well within our 60 window. A partial was paid after going back and forth with customer service. We really tried EVERYTHING with customer service to get this to work because it's such a great idea, but it's not working because they only use a few satellites vs the competition that is using up to 50.

First off, customer service is great... Once they make contact. Contacting Dog Park is a mixed bag. My issue however needed elevated to engineering and response was slow. We did finally find the root to our issues... The collars use AT&T for LTE which in our area has only 2 towers so triangulation is very poor. No amount of firmware updates or tweaking GPS signal will fix our issues. Now to issues. Purchased 3 collars 2 weeks ago for our beagles. When the collars receive signal, they work as designed. No questions there. Our fence is over 20 acres. Approximately 85% is on flat wide open field with house in center. The other 15% is wooded area with small valley. Since we're in winter months there is no leaf coverage. But our collars were causing issues folks at customer service were perplexed. Location drift to nearly 3 miles away. Suddenly moving location to emergency zone. Failure to update location for 12 hours at a time (despite showing 100% GPS signal). GPS/LTE outdated for over 30 minutes. And this was on all 3 collars so was able to rule out "a bad collar for exchange." One beagle was lost for over 2 hours because location never updated. One beagle scared to use collar because would be sitting in wide open field and start receiving emergency feedback. Another collar stuck at pin point for over 12 hours while showing full LTE and full GPS signal. We have used Tractive GPS for over 2 years since they were pups. It uses 3 different LTE services and have never had issue with location tracking. With pups getting older they want to roam further so now need to restrict them on our 20 acre lot. Reviewing AT&T coverage maps is of no assistance. These maps only show if coverage is available. What the maps don't show are triangulation. If you don't have 3 towers, location tracking is severely limited and inadvertent drift and inappropriate feedback are highly likely. Have 3 collars and one USB Beacon. It was agreed on last technical call with Dog Park, the collars simply won't work in our area. Have not yet started return procedure for all items since informed will not be responsible for the $25 return fee. Awaiting written confirmation all items will be fully refunded when initiate RMA without fee. Lesson learned: For anyone looking into investment of GPS fence, you really need to find out what your triangulation coverage looks like, not just LTE coverage. Use a cell tower locater app or website. If you have 3 AT&T towers nearby, Halo collars are for you. If you have 2 (like us), collars will work great or not at all. We have 3 Verizon towers nearby, so for GPS fence collar, we need to use competitor. To close, when the collars work, they work. When they don't work (which was our case all too often) it is a stressful issue.

Nice idea for our 25 acre farm But expensive for 3 dogs Problems were difficult app interface for adjustments, borders slightly change making pet training difficult and did not consistently ‘shock’ the dog even at a 10 setting. Must charge every day!!!!! Barely last 20 hours Many run thru events One good thing is it lets you find the let easily after run thru events We Changed to traditional under ground fence and had them trained in a week. No daily charging

Worked great, but the feedback was not strong enough for my lab. Sent it back and it’s been over a month now and still no refund. It’s been difficult

Two thing to note. The product itself is not great. Right from the start, the beacons that came with our collars did not work as intended, making the initial training impossible. Sometimes the collars would beep far away, sometimes they would be right on top of it and it wouldn't beep. Secondly, the return process has been tremendously painful. I followed the directions to the mark. It's now been 1 month since the returned collars were accepted at their return location and no one can tell me why I haven't received a refund. Each time I call I'm told they will check and get back to me EITHER WAY. Not once did I get a call back. Buyer be warned - this is an inferior product, not worth the $$. Getting your money back may not happen.

Ordered the collar that should have fit our dog based off of Halo's measurement guidelines. Got the collar mid October and it didn't fit which I now believe was a ploy to waste time for the return period. By the time the collar fit it was almost 2 months later, we started our subscription and attempted to use the collar (can't use the collar without the subscription so we clearly weren't using the collar until the day we signed up for the subscription plan). The GPS is not accurate, not even close. Our dog has been "corrected" while in our house and in our backyard. The collar will show our dog 2 houses over, in the neighbors yard when he is in our backyard. I called again on 1/14 for a refund, management was not there since it was a weekend, but the collar was vibrating while on our countertop as if it was out of the boundaries and get this, we didn't even have an active fence for it to do that. We have been in contact several times with customer service for troubleshooting and nothing has worked. I requested a refund on 1/12/2023 and 1/13 and 1/14 being as though they sent us a faulty collar to begin with, there is no way that I am interested in traumatizing my dog further with a replacement nor do i even trust this collar. Still waiting to hear from management about my refund. I am more than ready to send this collar back and recoup my money since we now need that money to secure our dog another way.
