Our collar (mostly) worked. Despite its price tag it stopped working abruptly right at 6 months. We requested an in warranty replacement and we’re told as long as the inoperative collar was Teri try Ned there would be no charge. Today Halo support contacted me to inform me the collar was damaged (obviiously, it doesn’t work) so we will have to pay F or the replacement. Collar has only normal wear and tear. So either the collar cover does not work or Halo is disreputable, or both. Avoid.

I like to hike with my dog off leash when possible. With the Halo collar I always know where he is. I use the Cesar’s whistle feature if I need him to come. He responds immediately. I love that.

Post review update: Halo agreed to refund the collar, so I pleased with their response. Halo team: I visited the Dog Park numerous times for assistance. +++++++++++++ My experience is similar to that described by many others on this page. The GPS is unreliable and imprecise at my home location. The collar sends warning, boundary and emergency signals back-to-back when the collar is well within the boundary, yet at other times does not respond at all when the boundary is breached. The idea is great, but the product is unfortunately not ready for market and in suburban settings, such as mine, could put pets at great risk. The product was $700 and is completely unusable.

The collar is not alerting us when our dog breaks his fence (nor is it stopping him).

Absolute garbage. The training beacon would work intermittently confusing my dog. If the training device doesn't work; I'll be damned if I'll trust the device to keep my dog safe when it matters. This is an overpriced scam as far as I'm concerned. Cesar should be ashamed of himself for allowing his name to be associated with this garbage.

Short battery life, spotty connections.... expensive!

The Hallo collar has improved over time since I initially purchased the unit. Multiple software upgrades have finally made it pretty reliable so no complaints there. I gave it 4 stars because there is always room for improvement and the monthly service fee isn’t necessarily cheap.

This collar was a life changer for our dog! We live on 5 acres and already had a Weimaraner but felt he needed a friend. Rebel was a rescue dog from the local pound and full of energy and a mind of her own! No matter what we did she refused to stay in the yard and would take off for hours with our Weim in tow. We didn't want to return her so decided to try the Halo on the advice of neighbors who had one. From the minute we put it on her (no nodes attached) she stayed in the yard. We can take the Weim across the property and she stops at her boundaries. I swear she is a totally different dog. Thank you Halo!
