i went to david bridal Birmingham for my wedding dress. the staff are lovely and I even swapped my wedding dress on my second fitting as I was unhappy I'd picked the wrong one. my fault entirely but the manager and staff were lovely and allowed me to, saying if you don't feel like a bride in your 1st choice we can change the dress! the staff are friendly and alterations team are lovely too. i payed monthly payments for my dress and everything was explained clearly how my dress gets ready for my big day. i would recommend them. just can't wait for my big day. thankyou David bridal

Despite a great initial appointment, I was left sadly disappointed. After an exceptional initial visit to the Stratford store in February I was so pleased, I wrote a great review about them on Google. I booked the initial appointment for my wedding dress for a weekday so the store was nice and quiet, the consultant Lucia was absolutely fantastic, impeccable customer service and you can tell she's passionate about her job, she helped me find my wedding dress, sash, tiara and veil and I left the store overjoyed! Unbeknown to me, that was the end of my good experience with David's Bridal I was so pleased with the initial visit that I decided to go back and get my flower girls dresses and Maid of Honour's dress from there. Big Mistake! From the second visit onwards I just had constant issues with David's Bridal, the staff were rude and unhelpful, there's a serious issue with communication between staff at the store and they way they communicate with customers. For example, I ordered my sash, veil and tiara on the same day as my wedding dress, the tiara and veil arrived a few weeks later but without the sash, I assumed the sash may come with the wedding dress, which i was told would come in July. I went into the store in April to pick up my flowers girls dresses and inquired about when my sash and my wedding dress was expected to arrive and I was told again that my wedding dress would arrive in July and I would receive an email. I was then told that my sash had never been ordered (although they took the money for it back in February) and was asked for my receipt, thankfully I had a picture of my receipt with me on my phone, they then put through the order for the sash. When the sash arrived in store in July, I got a call from the store to ask me to collect it, i got a call the following day from another sales assistant there telling me my sash was in store and I should come and collect it, i informed the lady that her collegue had called the day before, which she was unaware of. While speaking to the sales assistant, I mentioned to her that I was told my dress would come in July, it was now July and I hadn't heard anything, she put me on hold, went to check and came back and told me there was no order for a wedding dress under my name, i assured her there was and asked her to check again, she put me on hold again and went away to check, she then came back and told me that my wedding dress was in their stockroom and had been there since March and that I must come and pick it up immediately because it has been there for too long. My wedding dress had been sitting in their stockroom for 2 MONTHS and no one from the store had bothered to call or email me to tell me that my wedding dress had arrived. It turns out that the day I went in with my flower girls to try on and order their dresses, the weeks later that i'd gone in to pick up the flower girls dresses and inquired about my wedding dress and told it was coming in July, my dress had been sitting there in their store the Whole Time and No One had bothered to tell me. The icing on the cake was when the sales assistant told me that the dress can't stay in the store any longer because it's taking up space and has already been there longer than it should have been (who's fault was that?). She told me I had to book an appointment to come and try it on and pick it up that week, when I told her it was short notice and I couldn't get time off work but I'd come the following week, she insisted that I must come and collect it that week because it can't stay in the store, and if i can't come to store, they would post the dress out to me for a £15 charge. Bearing in mind all the issues i'd had with David's Bridal so far (due to time, i haven't included everything - yes there's more!), i was reluctant for them to post the dress, i wanted to go instore to make sure it was the right dress before taking it home so I told her i'd figure something out and call back. By now i was pretty upset, one thing i've noticed about this store is that they Do Not take responsibility for their mistakes, but they make plenty of them! I called back explained the situation to another sales assistant and asked to speak to a manager, conveniently the manager was busy and unable to take my call and I was asked to call back, I asked if the manager could give me a call back when shes's free and i was told she would. The manager didn't call me back, but relayed a message through her staff member who did call me and was very courteous, she apologised and explained that I could come in the following week when I was available and try on my wedding dress. My experience with David's Bridal started off so well, but by the end I was really disappointed. Planning a wedding is time consuming and stressful enough, the Bridal store shouldn't add to that stress, buying your wedding dress should be a joyful and hopefully once in a lifetime experience filled with good memories. By the end of it, I just wanted to take my wedding dress and leave the store and have nothing more to do with David's Bridal. I have friends who are also getting married this year and next year and I've told them if they want peace of mind and a happy experience buying their wedding dress, they should stay away from David's Bridal. One piece of advice i'd give to the management team at David's Bridal is please, please train your staff well, review procedures and work on good communication between staff to enhance the customer experience.

I would urge anyone who is thinking of purchasing their wedding dress from David’s Bridal to go somewhere else. I originally had a good experience when going to the Birmingham store to try dresses on back in March 2018, I thought the customer service was good and I said yes to the dress. The order for my dress was placed and 8 weeks later I went back to the store for my courtesy appointment to try my dress on before taking it away. When I got the dress home my mom and I checked the dress over because we weren’t given the chance to in store, at which point I found that the dream dress I thought I had taken away was less than perfect. My dress had a hole in and there were glue and burn marks on the tulle. I called the store straight away to let them know and took the dress back in. At this point the dress I loved has completely lost it’s sparkle, who expects their wedding dress to be faulty?! I asked the store for a refund...what followed was an awful 3 months, emails back and forth with their Area Manager and Marketing Manager who point blank refused to give me a refund over and over again, even though I was entitled to one! They made me out to be a liar; saying they had asked me to check the dress, which they didn’t and also insinuated I had damaged the dress myself! Ultimately I had to get the small claims court involved to get my money back for the dress, which I finally got this week. David’s Bridal have no customer service, do not acknowledge the Consumer Rights Act and they are only interested in getting your money.

Im honestly so shocked. Im American, from my knowledge this is a nationally recognized brand in the states, and Im so happy I found it here in London. This is the worst service ever. Found my dress, yes I love it, but was supposed to come for an alterations appt this Saturday, and had to reschedule it. Called right now and they are like the dress won't be in at the time. I HONESTLY would've walked in that day, and they would've said your dress is not here. 2nd time i would've showed up for an appointment I would not have had to attend. I came in a month ago because i got an email to come for an appointment, and there was nothing there, they said it was a mistake on their system. Then today they are like your dress will be done with alterations, 3 DAYS BEFORE MY WEDDING. I have spent so much money and they have created the worst experience. all i got was a "Sorry"

Good Afternoon. I wish to make a complaint about David's Bridal in Birmingham and the services I have received. I came to chose my wedding dress on 26/05/2018 and was served by a gentlemen called Zein i believe, they have agreed for me to pay 25% on the day and the rest when my dress is ready for a pick up as the price of my dress is £1,100 so it was quite convenient for me to do it that way. The dress I have tried on was way too big for me, but I was told that it will be ordered for me with my actual size if I decide to buy it. The gentlemen took my measurements and explained the dress will be made for me in 3 months time and I will receive a call or text confirming this is the case. I knew that my outstanding balance was due to be paid on 25/08/2018 so I had an idea and was hoping the dress will be ready for a pick up on the same day. I called middle of August to check up on the order and wanted to confirm if everything will be ready on time. Been advised that I can come on 25/08/2018 at 4 pm to pay the rest of the money outstanding and that my dress will be ready to collect. I was ever so pleased and was so excited to try my wedding dress on again. So on Saturday, I came to pick my wedding dress up. The lady in reception wasn't very nice at all, my appointment was at 4 pm but i was served at least 15-20 mins later.. I went into a fitting room, tried my dress on and found out that it hasn't even been made at all!! It was still too big, the lace by my wast was coming off.. I mean, are you having a laugh? I am paying for this dress £1100 which is a lot of money and I am expecting everything to be outstanding ! This was shocking for me, the boost was at least 2 sizes too big, dress was too long. I questioned as to why this wasn't ready like I was told, only to find out that you do alterations up to 8 weeks before the wedding!! First of all, I wasn't even told anything like this when I came to the store for the first time, I was promised it will be ready in 3 months. Zein never mentioned anything about alternations! If i knew this is the case I wouldn't even bother buying the dress that early and definitely would shop around with other companies. Plus the most disappointing thing I was told on that day was the fact that you have made me pay £4.50 for the bag so I can carry the dress home.. This is ridiculous and I cant believe you treat your customers this way. They spend so much money on the dresses and you can't even provide cover for free.. Shocking! I am extremely unhappy and the fact I was quoted about £400 extra for alternations to my dress. My budget was £1000 all together but because of your poor communication I will now end up spending way over and you have ruined my experience! I love the dress and was so looking forward to it, but you just made it more difficult and put a lot of stress on me!! I am definitely looking for a response regarding this.

I booked an appoinment yesterday . Come from south London an hour and half of commute .. First of all it was not an appoinment the costumer services she was not able to explain me one dress and she was very in a hurry , second the quality of the material and the quality of the dresses are absolutely terrible very old and damaged. My boyfriend that he was there he asked me if they were display sample dresses . believe me I am buying vintage cloths second hand and I am a very easy person ..I grow up with shops and customer services and in whole my life I never see something like that . Hope somebody from the high main office could conctact me and speaking about this situation .. every shops in Westfield Stratford speaking about David bridal as a cheap shop that’s very sad .

Possibly the worst customer service ever. They were okay when I purchased my wedding dress but were an absolute nightmare when it came to my bridesmaid buying their dresses. Lots of dressed weren't available in the colour that i wanted, even though the girl who took our appointment on the day confirmed that the particular colour i chose would have the dresses in all sizes as it was the most popular and thus would be more available. Extremely rude on the phone too and disorganised! We paid extra for the dress to be delivered to one of my bridesmaids and they completely had no record of it!
