My motorcycle was stolen, the facility did not contact me until weeks later, I am disgusted by their treatment. And their prices are way above average rates. They take advantage of their customers….

If you are looking for a place to store your items long term this is not the storage facility for you. I had 3 storage units with the previous owner. The previous owner never raised the rates for 6 years. Cubesmart bought them out and in two years we received rate increase notifications multiple time per year. We will be moving our items to another facility asap. Way over priced!

Warning: don't assume your stuff is safe or protected at the Cubesmart facility in Bethpage, NY -- it's not! And don't assume the company will care or help if your stuff is damaged due to their failure to keep it safe. I have been using this facility for nearly a year, paying extra for a climate controlled indoor unit because the person who sold me the unit promised my things would be safe and dry. So I was unpleasantly surprised to come in and find a giant puddle on top of one of my bins. My first hint was when I grabbed the bin, and water went everywhere. This meant hours of backbreaking work to try to move all the boxes around to see what was wet and what wasn't. I contacted the manager (phone service doesn't work inside so had to go all the way back downstairs), and asked for towels to dry things and for help resolving the issue. She came up to look at things, took some photos and then tried to make up excuses as to why there was a puddle (claimed that sometimes condensation causes things to "sweat" -- but we're not talking a few drops of water, we're talking a giant puddle that filled the top of a very large plastic bin from edge to edge!). I asked her how they would protect and safeguard my stuff now since the unit obviously had a water leak of some kind. Her answer was that they would find another unit and I could move the entire contents of my unit up a floor (which would, of course, require me to hire someone to move it all). I explained that I did not think I should be paying movers to move my stuff to someplace safe, since I was already paying THEM to keep my stuff safe, which they failed to do. If I wanted my stuff kept someplace prone to water damage, I could have kept it in my own garage for free! So she said if I left my key, someone there could move my stuff to a dry unit. At this point, she left (taking the cleaning supplies with her without ever drying anything or leaving them for me to dry up the wet, slippery floor or wet bin!). I left my key, and the next day, was told that they actually can't move my stuff but she still wanted to "help." Her idea of "help" was telling me I can call my insurance (which I pay for) to address the ruined items. But I would still have to pay someone to move all of the stuff, which is the far greater expense, and which I only have to do because the unit I've been paying top dollar for isn't water safe. The ironic thing is that I'd brought my sister that day to rent a unit of her own, since I was referring her to them. Once she saw the leak, and their excuses to try to cover it up, and their unwillingness to do anything to fix it, she had no interest in renting there! I had several more conversations about this in hopes of avoiding having to file a complaint, and they eventually offered me a couple of boxes to replace the wet ones (useless as the stuff is still in a unit that's known to have a water leakage problem) and finally said they would give me one month's free storage. However, since I have to pay to move everything (which costs far more than one month's storage fee), this doesn't compensate me for my losses. And since every other storage place offers one month free for new customers, it's actually cheaper to take my stuff to another, more reliable storage facility where I'll get one month free AND a much cheaper price. But I'm still disappointed beyond words that they would sell me a storage unit with a leak, try to make excuses for their failure to protect my stuff, and then expect ME to hire movers to move my stuff to a unit without a leak because the first unit wasn't safe. Find another company -- I learned the hard way that this one isn't reliable or honest, and if you have a problem, they will take no responsibility!

Terrible Service! False advertisement! We had our RV stored at the facility on Stockton Blvd. We received a call from the manager saying our RV was broken into and to respond ASAP. When we arrived on scene we were met by the manager.... Everything in our RV was stolen! When I asked 1for the CCTV footage I was advised there was none! NONE AT ALL FOR THE WHOLE FACILITY!!! This company has a sign posted on the front main gate that the facility is under 24 hour surveillance! I immediately removed our RV from their premises!!! They have holes in their fence line allowing the homeless to roam freely inside!!! Get your property out now before you loose it all like we did!

I called CubeSmart to let them know I would be moving out and that I just made my payment last week. Matthew told me he could set it up but I'm paid thru Sept 15. He could set it up as a move out and I could remove the lock. Why would I remove the lock so you can let someone else move in. Matthew said they don't give credits basically. And the rent went from $85 to $93 for a 5.0 X 15.0 not worth it. I understand prices are going up but for a storage that's all ready rented is very unfair. If you are going to increase the prices increase the price for new rentals. And by the way I have rented from CubeSmart before and one other location who was happy to reimburse me for the difference so for the next few weeks this sotrage will be sitting empty and you could have rented it out for the $93 increase.

I just read through the website with all the nonsense about customer service and all the corporate goal garble and how important the customer is. Puke. I had to write that a stuff when I was a procedures analyst for a large bank, meaningless garbage verbiage. So, I have had this spot for about 5 years and this monster vine used to wrap around my RVs generator tail pipe and pull it off when I pulled out. I complained about it and they did try to kill this thing but they didn't get it to year 4. The Place is dirty as well, I'm still waiting for the paper cups and food wrapers to disintigrate

1. When I arrived, there were moths in my unit and in the whole section of the climate controlled unit- affecting all units. The walls in the unit are open near the ceiling. They said they will have them sprayed by their pesticide company and offered me moth traps - thanks to Donna and Cheryl (staff at office). If you understand moths, they don’t disappear easily and it takes multiple treatments. Cloth moths will destroy your clothes and upholstery. I have lots of pictures I sent them. 2. The door to unit does not stay closed unless you push it tight. Thus not truely climate / humidity controlled unit. They didn’t fix this- instead placed a note on the door to close it tight. The door latch does not stay engaged each time- gets stuck from the previous use of duct tape. They removed some of the adhesive but It should have been replaced. 3. When I informed the manager, Dwayne, of the moths, he said I told the front office that I brought the moths to the unit. This was an outright lie and if it was true, why would I admit to it? He also said I never emailed my declaration page from homeowners insurance to them as I was asking for the extra insurance fee be removed. When I told him that I emailed it to the front office in person and she said she had received it, he changed his tune after undeniable proof. and with much hesitation he refunded the fee and removed future ones. 4. Then the most shocking thing yet after informing him about the moths, the door and the fee — he said I could leave the unit now. He was going to kick us out. I can’t remember if he even offered a refund or not. He won the reward for being the rudest person in customer service in my life. When you have your stuff in a unit, you are kinda stuck with their rules and they know it, but we moved out a month later and will not go back.

Since renting a 5x5 space at 5394 Cubesmart Storage iI have had 2 rent increases in just 14 months. The rate initially was a special and it was raised 3 or 4 months after renting. The next raise notice came less than a year after. Just to stop the increases I’m going to donate the furniture. Now that I know how these storage companies operate I will be more cautious in the future. My rent was paid on time if not early by automatic payments. Had my rent not been increased I would have not donated the furniture until I moved and decided if I needed it. With these rates I can buy the furniture and come out ahead. The sentimental value of the furniture is priceless but my income has limits. Beware these companies who advertise specials they don’t last and increases come quickly.
