Josh was absolutely wonderful to work with! He helped me move from Alaska to Texas, and as stressful and complicated as a long-distance move can be, I felt supported and taken care of every step of the way.
His prices are fair, and he runs his business with integrity and a genuine commitment to customer care, which is unfortunately rare to find in the moving industry these days. When the carrier tried to upcharge me, Josh went above and beyond to make sure my original quoted price was honored. That level of honesty and dedication really sets him apart.
If you’re looking for a reliable, trustworthy moving company that truly cares about its customers, I highly recommend Vanity Van Lines! I’m so grateful for Josh’s help in making such a stressful move a much smoother experience.

Horrible company who promises nothing…
Horrible company who promises nothing will happen to your stuff, and your stuff gets damaged or stolen, then the owner Josh doesn't follow through with claims against the very people he hired, like moving forward inc. so I get this message from the CSI the people who handles the claim: This is to inform you that we are unable to proceed with the handling of your claim with Moving Forward Group INC for the following reason(s):
Lack of authorization from the carrier, without an approved offer from the carrier we are unable to present an offer to you.
Since we are unable to assist you any further, we must refer you back to Moving Forward Group INC for the handling of your claim.
We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THESE 3 COMPANIES.

We believe this review is not from a genuine customer and is part of a coordinated campaign that has targeted our company.
Over the course of several weeks, a former employee who was terminated threatened to damage our business online. Shortly thereafter, numerous one-star reviews appeared across multiple review platforms containing generalized allegations and language designed to discourage potential customers. The reviews consistently reference many of the issues that customers would find most alarming, such as claims of poor customer service, broken belongings, delays, and being "scammed" without providing any verifiable details that would allow us to identify an actual move or customer account.
We have provided Trustpilot with documentation supporting our position, including copies of threatening communications that preceded the publication of these reviews, along with evidence showing that many of the same reviews on other major review platforms were investigated, determined to be fraudulent, and ultimately removed for violating those platforms' policies.
Unfortunately, despite submitting this evidence, these particular reviews remain visible on Trustpilot while a number of legitimate five-star reviews from verified customers have not been published after being flagged by the platform. We respectfully disagree with those decisions and have continued to request that Trustpilot conduct a thorough review of the evidence we have provided.
We encourage prospective customers to consider our overall business history, licensing, and the thousands of customers we have successfully served over the years rather than relying on anonymous reviews that cannot be connected to an actual shipment.
If the author of this review is in fact a genuine customer, we invite them to contact us directly with their name, job number, or order number so that we can investigate the concerns immediately. To date, we have been unable to identify any customer matching the claims made in this review.
We remain committed to providing transparent communication and professional service, and we will continue cooperating with review platforms to ensure that genuine customer feedback both positive and negative, is accurately represented.

I ALMOST didn’t go with them…
I ALMOST didn’t go with them…
The initial contact with Vanity Van Lines was actually really good. I even got to talk to the owner, Josh, and they gave me the lowest quote out of everyone. I was ready to go for it…
But of course, I wanted to be cautious, so I looked them up first. That’s when I saw some recent bad reviews and I was like, “yeah… there it is, that’s why it’s cheap.”
Josh had a follow-up call with me, and I was honestly a bit upset, so I brought it up right away. I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t walking into a bad situation. He explained that those reviews were fake and came from an ex-employee who had issues with the company. I didn’t believe it right away, but he showed some proof and explained everything clearly.
At that point, I just thought, you know what, I’ll give them a shot. I also saw a lot of good reviews though. it was just those recent bad ones that made me hesitate.
And I’m really glad I DID.
Everything went smoothly. I had some fragile items, so I was very particular, but they handled everything really well and professionally. No issues at all.
Just wanted to leave this here because I almost backed out because of those reviews, and that would’ve been a mistake.

The worst…
I never worked with such a horrible moving company. Not only was their customer service some of the worst ive ever experienced but after waiting for what seemed ages, the amount of broken items received you would think they would charge less than what their prices currently are (theyll scam you for every cent if they can be careful).

Terrible Experience
Terrible communication. They hired an incompetent sub-contractor to handle the move. I was lied to multiple times by both companies, Vanity Vanlines and Trueload Transportation LLC. I paid extra for the insurance and some items got damaged due to improper packing done by TrueLoad. The insurance would not pay. For example: Big screen TV was wrapped in moving blankets and was damaged beyond repair. Insurance required TVs be boxed. The TV packing was supposed to be included in the original contract. Shipment was to be delivered into the house upon arrival with boxes placed in the rooms labeled on the cartons. Movers would only deliver entire shipment to the garage! Terrible experience

Watch out for this company
Person who name started with J who claim he’s the owner, was who i talked to. Quoted me $2900, which i had mention for 800 cu ft and he agreed. 2 day before the move, QA called to confirm what i have which he quoted $6701 for 941 cu ft because j@sh didn’t put me as 800 cu ft, but 567 which later i called j@sh about, but he denied ever have that conversation. QA finally drop the price down to $4860s for 767 cu ft of items which i measure and gave him the numbers and between the conversation i was threaten by them that they would cancel my move if i don't sign which they had my $1000 deposit which they claimed non-refundable. I was told they can drop the price further if my stuff decrease between now and moving date (2days after). I threw away my 3 seater sofa. Sold my 7 piece room set which “includes king size bed frame, head board, 2 night stand dresser, 1 tall dresser, 1 large wide dresser with mirror, and 1 bed bench” and measure the night before the move and knock my stuff down to 600 cu ft. On the moving day. The mover came in, i told them i took a-lot of large size item off for a price change. They say they won’t change the price, but instead they quoted me $7200 for the move. They refuse to count or measure my item. I tried calling vanity van line, but they wont pick up, until i finally sign with the mover then vanity van line finally pick up. The $7200 they charged ($600 which was the packing material which was prepaid, but apparently they charge differently and added the extra $600). They also changed the contract of 15 step stairs to 7 step stairs. Yes for every 7 step $75 extra. Vanity van line assure me that they are going to make the mover do the item measurement once they get to the storage instead of measurement by how they load the truck. A few days later i called vanity van line about this situation. They didn’t know what i was talking about and there was no note mentioning of this situation until i explain it to them. So they didn’t do anything after they assure me of what they going to do. They told me to email them of my complaint. I emailed them my complaint and called them several time. Each time in the call they kept saying they are working on it but no result after a week. And my email, they denied my claims and never mention they are going to make the mover measure my stuff. They did nothing at all until i file complaints with the BBB. After i file with the BBB and i called them, they were rude, saying we are not going to talk to you since you file with BBB and there nothing to talk about.
The result for this company is i was baited $2900, put in a non-refundable deposits of $1000. Threaten by QA between my move of cancelling my move with my non-refundable deposit of $1000 for the price of 4800 and have to add another $1200 in deposit of non-refundable deposit. Total $2200 deposit. On final pick up day, they change the price again to $7200. If i don't go with it, i would lose that $2200 deposit. My stuff not being moved and loses $2200.
They put you in a situation where either you accept their price term or not being able to move and loses $2200.
A completely bait and switch scam. Please watch out for this company.
Now they claim this is a spam.

-Thanks for trying to alter facts
-facts
- price was changed from $2900 to $4800 to $7200 on pick up day. I did a inch to inch measurement and with QA as well.
(Thats bait and switch scam)
- on pick up date. The mover did a cursory glaze to name a new price, there was no assessment of my items.
(Thats cursory glaze scam)
- even though they quoted $7200, on insurance part they put $4800 worth of item was being moved. So my guess is if anything happen my stuff they are not going to pay the full amount of $7200 instead $4800 which is 2nd price they quoted me on.
(Thats insurance scam)
- contract stated every extra 15 step +$75, but they had you sign new contract stated every extra 7 steps +$75.
(Altering contract while your item already in their trucks)
-threaten by QA to not provide service on the last min unless you go with his inflated price. (Had you sign under duress)
Non of this sounds like a legit moving company would do. Do your research before starting with this company.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are sorry that you were dissatisfied with your move, but we would like to provide additional context for prospective customers.
Your original estimate was based on the inventory and information provided at the time of booking. During the mandatory Quality Assurance review conducted before your move, your inventory was reviewed in greater detail and it became apparent that the shipment was significantly larger than originally estimated. The purpose of the Quality Assurance process is to identify discrepancies before moving day so that customers are aware of any necessary adjustments in advance rather than being surprised at pickup.
Although the revised inventory reflected a substantially larger shipment, we worked with you to reduce the estimated volume and lowered the quoted price as a courtesy after reviewing the information together. We also advised that if your inventory was reduced prior to pickup, the shipment would be billed based on the items actually transported.
On moving day, the carrier performed its own physical assessment of the shipment, as is standard practice throughout the interstate moving industry. Carriers are responsible for determining the actual volume of the shipment they transport, and if the inventory presented differs from the estimate, the transportation charges may be adjusted accordingly. We understand that you disagreed with the carrier's assessment, and we immediately discussed your concerns with them.
You also mention that we assured you the shipment would be measured after loading. We did in fact communicate your concerns to the carrier and requested that they review the shipment. While we cannot compel an independent carrier to alter its assessment, we did advocate on your behalf and continued communicating with you after the move.
With respect to your BBB complaint, we fully respect every customer's right to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau or any other consumer agency. Filing a complaint has never prevented us from responding or attempting to resolve a customer's concerns. We regret if you felt otherwise.
Finally, we strongly disagree with the characterization of our business as a "bait and switch scam." Our estimates are based on the information available at the time they are prepared, and any changes in pricing are based on the actual inventory and services required for the move. We have never had a policy of intentionally quoting low prices to secure deposits and then arbitrarily increasing costs.
We regret that we were unable to reach a resolution that satisfied you and appreciate the opportunity to provide additional context regarding your experience.

Mover tried to scam us
When the actual mover (I believe it was 1st Choice Moving and Storage) showed up the very first thing he said was that he guaranteed “some guy in an office in FL” didn’t really know what we were moving so the quote wouldn’t be right. He tried to double our quoted price, even claiming there were items not on the list, which was not true. He wrote (and I still have a copy) items like tvs, wardrobe boxes, a bunk bed (we do not own), a ladder, and a sofa - all of which were included on the quote I received from Vanity Vanlines during our final QA call (which I also still have a copy of). In addition he added some items like “shuttle”, an additional fuel surcharge, and several items that were completely illegible. When we rebuffed his new quote and called Vanity Vanlines, he immediately dropped from $5400 to $5200. When Mom got involved, he dropped from $5200 to $4700. When we sent them away because they were still $1500 over the final QA quote we’d received from Vanity Vanlines, he texted Mom that he would do $4700. Shortly thereafter, both of us received phone messages from some lady in a local office saying that “after talking to everyone” she had a new quote. We chose to go a different route rather than deal with someone who seemed shady. I believe this dude thought he could scam a single young woman. Further, after Mom called the Vanity Vanlines representative we’d been working with for the last few weeks (immediately after hearing the mover was trying to inflate the bill), we never heard another word from Vanity Vanlines. Not a peep.

Hi there,
We take allegations like this very seriously, but we also want to clarify that we've never had an issue where a mover "made up" items to increase pricing. In fact, we have a very thorough and transparent process in place that tracks all inventory and pricing changes. If anything is added or removed, it's documented, confirmed, and reflected accordingly—you only pay for the actual space used.
This review doesn't include a name, which is unusual for us. Every single review on our system is tied to a real customer and verified move, so it’s possible this was left on the wrong company’s profile. We don't operate the way you described, and we’re confident enough in our process to offer a 100% money-back guarantee if you contact our office directly and this can be verified as one of our moves.
Please give us a call so we can look into this for you—assuming this even involved our company. We are committed to providing honest, reliable service and do not tolerate anything even close to a scam.
Best regards,
Vanity Van Lines Team
