I signed up for Crunch Fitness right before Covid hit. I only had the chance to attend one class prior to them closing down. I called right before the closure requesting to cancel my membership since I had just started a week or two before. They refused. Months go by during the closure and I start to get charged the monthly fee, then the semi animal fee hit the day they opened back up. The only reason I signed up is to attend 2 specific classes, which they no longer offered. I called and requested to cancel again at that time and was refused. I got into discussions with a manager who only offered to freeze my membership but not cancel it. By this time I had been charged over $100 and was not able to use the classes I had signed up for, nor could I cancel my membership so I called my credit card company to dispute the charges. I have since received a threatening letter from a law firm stating that if I do not immediately pay $47.52 they will report to my credit. I am furious. Terrible service from a company I never who's services I never even got to use. I will be warning others about joining this deceptive gym.

Terrible membership and cancellation policies. Requires in person or certified mail. Upon cancellation, charged next months fees.

This is a horrible company. They refuse to refund money that they overcharged. They state I didn’t cancel. I had a 3 month comittment only. I had spoken to the manager at the time Nick and stated once the personal training is done I will not renew due to I had 4 trainers and I was lied to and I never was given the contract they only had us electronically sign. They lied and stated Kris did not show up when in fact she text me. Then David told Erika he was taking over and he had no idea what he was doing and did not give a nutrition plan. When we signed up I told Nick I am not sure if we can afford this as we are not working he assured me I could suspend payments. When I stated I wanted to cancel due to Poor training I was threatened that he will send it to the bank. I also told Nick my gym in Philly is closed and I am not sure if I will continue. They have poor customer service skills. The new manager stated whatever we discussed with Nick does not stand as she is now the manager and she stated she did nothing wrong. What happened to the customer is right. I will continue at my gym in philly. Run from this gym as fast as you can. This is the worst decision I had made. I should have waited for my gym with excellent service skills to open. I am very disappointed that they charge even after you state you want to cancel due to poor service. We told Nick we can only train on Sunday. I was told we would not be switching Personal trainers anymore. Erika got a new job and can no longer train on Sunday’s. No fault of ours and the manager stated no refund and makes an excuse about the overcharge. I am now waiting for the outcome from the attorney General. The manager told me I understand you are contacting the attorney General and again she stated she is right and I am wrong. They need to learn good customer service skills.

Terrible company. So evil to scam so many out of money and refuse to cancel this terrible service. If there isn’t a class action happening already, their should be. Companies like this should not be allowed to get away with scamming people out of money every month. I’ve been trying for weeks to cancel and no word from anyone. There customer service number doesn’t even ring. Email is hopeless. I will need to cancel my card and get an new one just to stop them.

Normally my contract would have been up by now. But the pandemic meant I couldn't contact them before last week to try to cancel it. Then they said no because it's your fault you didn't pay during the pandemic (excuse me you closed and didn't even ever answer a phone). So I explained that I moved somewhere with a home gym and don't have money for their contract because the pandemic took away my job. Then they were like you're still liable for the 6 months we were frozen and we are also charging you another annual fee. This company is a scam. I have to pay $230 I don't have because of something not within my control. It would be one thing to say "Hey like we understand but the pandemic froze your account" but to also make me pay another annual fee? Do not use Crunch.

I WISH I COULD GIVE THEM -100 STARS WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. They would not let people cancel memberships during COVID. When they finally re-opened, I tried to cancel my account before I was charged - no response. I submitted 3 TIMES via their contact form. They charged me for my month and THEN charged me an annual fee. I finally had to DM them on Twitter just to get a response. After countless DMs, 2 emails to customer support, I FINALLY got them to agree to cancel my account. They wouldn't refund my money until I proved I'd tried to contact them before so I had to send them three screenshots of my contact receipts and THEN they had the audacity to say that they would refund my yearly fee, and " Based upon the date of your cancellation request, and your signed membership agreement, the charge on 9/2 of should apply. However, as a customer service gesture. we've refunded that as well. " THE SNARK. THE ATTITUDE. THE AUDACITY. They wouldn't let ANYONE cancel their account before then. OF COURSE they opened at the beginning of the month so they could collect on fees and pull this bs on everyone else. Seriously - find a different gym or just get fat. This gym is NOT WORTH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY ARE THE WORST AND A SCAM!!!!!!!

It is incredibly disappointing that I have not been able to resolve my issues with The Crunch West Hamilton club directly and I have been pushed to file complaints on the Ontario Website and also the Better Business Bureau. I hope that will be the wake up call they will need to realize they need to do better. In reading some of these reviews, I realize I am not alone in having issues with The Crunch West Hamilton since the pandemic. Any reasonable person would agree that the gym atmosphere before and after the pandemic are extremely different things. Since the pandemic hit, I have not been going to any public spaces and of course this includes the gym. I even read some comments on Google Reviews and the Facebook website about some extremely questionable safety practices. They introduced these plastic “face shields” which totally fly in the face of what WHO and other health officials have been telling us (2 ply fabric masks are best). I also read people are permitted to take off their masks?! All of this seems insane to me. There seems to be little to no understanding on The Crunch’s part of why I am so concerned about all of this. I would think with the world undergoing an actual Pandemic they would have understood my persistence and need to cancel my membership. I have been unsuccessful in doing so, hence why I have filed my complaints. The worst part is that I emailed the Crunch West Hamilton on March 16th to freeze my membership due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I was distressed on August 12th when I received an unwarranted large charge of $67.68 despite my account being frozen. On August 24th I emailed about the problem, but was not provided any refund. I also requested to cancel my membership at that time as circumstances have clearly changed due to COVID-19 and I do not feel safe going to the gym until there is a vaccine. I am extremely disappointed in The Crunch not honouring my request to cancel my membership, and also charging me $67.68 with no warning! I encourage anyone who is in a similar boat, to write a review and file any complaints you can. And anyone wondering if they should join this gym? Short answer: do not. They clearly do not care about their members. I feel completely cheated and ripped off. Steer clear, everyone!!!
