My husband and I were members of Anytime Fitness for nearly 15 years and liked it but we also thought the cost was high. So, when Crunch came to Lakeland and not too far from us I responded to an email to await their opening and WOW were we surprised in a great way! We joined the same day we saw all the upgraded equipment and space! They are great there, so glad we joined.

'To renege is to go back on your word or fail to keep a promise. The Latin negāre means "to deny," so by reneging on your word, you are denying someone whatever you promised them. .
I bought a month to month membership in December. Come June when Covid cleared. We had swapped to an internet bank and my account with Crunch was in arrears. No drama! I called up to sort this out and mentioned my wife was interested in joining as well. I was happy to do it over the phone but Yolonda strongly recommended that I come in and we talk face to face. (I didn't really want to do that but I realised she was on the sell and she will hopefully offer me a good deal, if I go in.) I went in and she made me an offer I could not refuse. She would wipe all of the debt-$300, if myself and my wife both signed up for a full year and pay on the spot, $399 each. She went on the sell and pointed out my debt and how I would get a full membership for the similar price of my debt($300) and there would be no more to pay. No Brainer right!! 'An offer to good to refuse'
- Wipe my debt $300
- Start new annual membership for $399
- My wife can sign up as well for $399
- Pay now and it's a deal
-Paid $798 for a years membership for myself and my wife, with now more to pay. Debt Free!
- WRONG!!
- He comes the CRUNCH! What they call CRUNCH TIME, it all makes so much sense now
- I try to go to the GYM, card doesn't work for myself or my wife but bloke behind the counter lets us in.
- Covid is back I try to freeze our memberships on the app.
- Can't do it and the app is telling me I still owe over $300
- I write an email stating that i want to FREEZE our accounts as covid is back.
- Alice replies to my email -
'Hi Ryan,
Thank you for your email and welcome back to Crunch!
We are offering a complimentary freeze at the moment for up to 12 weeks. To do this you will just need to pop to reception to complete a freeze form.
Also, there is just an outstanding balance on your last account, which will need to be settled before it can be cancelled as staff unfortunately forgot to take the payment on the day you re-joined up. The outstanding balance was reduced and a 50% off discount has been given on the basis that you re-joined. So there is just -$141.95 outstanding opposed to -$356.40.
- Modus Operandi - 'Staff unfortunately forgot to take the payment on the day you re-joined up'
- Both of our Memberships are Frozen from entering after we paid $798 in a deal done in 'Good faith'and now they have renigged on my deal.
'To renege is to go back on your word or fail to keep a promise. The Latin negāre means "to deny," so by reneging on your word, you are denying someone whatever you promised them. Stay Tuned! If you have suffered the same fate could you please post here.

Big shout out to personal trainer…
Big shout out to personal trainer Guillermo Arguelles, AKA GMO at Crunch on University. He has truly been a life saver!!! For some people going to the gym is a physical thing, but for me it was more of a mental thing. After training with GMO I feel like a whole new person! :) I have way more energy, my strength is up, my confidence is back, I now have motivation to start the day, and not only am I physically stronger; I'm mentally stronger too. He literally helped me get back my life, and I will be forever grateful for that.
See life took a toll on me (which it does for many of us) and I couldn't find the strength or motivation to go to the gym. After being hit by a semi truck, losing my Mom, Dad, and my best friend, I didn't have much fight or motivation left in me. I knew I needed to get back to "me"... I needed to get physically and mentally strong again. But no matter how much I wanted to and tried to get to the gym... I just couldn't force myself to go.
So I thought to myself, "If I get a trainer, then I will HAVE to go. Plus I need a trainer to teach me the correct form since I have injuries from being hit by a truck." I dealt with a lot of physical pain as well, which didn't make me motivated to workout.
The second I meant GMO he made me feel comfortable. He has a very professional and comforting way about him. He explains EVERYTHING, which I really appreciate. He encouraged me, pushed me physically and mentally, and always made sure I felt comfortable and at ease throughout the workouts. I like the fact he was ALWAYS engaged, and made sure I always had correct form, so I don't injure myself. And the best part... no matter what, GMO always has a smile on his face and a positive attitude, which is contagious.

Scammm
SCAMMMMMMM! It’s bad enough with the Covid that people are struggling financially . I tried to call them and cancel my membership at the beginning of the pandemic but was not able to reach them via phone or email. When they finally contacted me over a month later, they had already charged me for my monthly and annual dues. I again asked to cancel and refund but they would only offer me credit... for what??? My account is finally cancelled and I’m suppose to use that $100 on protein cookies or water?

After canceling my membership with…
After canceling my membership with crunch last year. In January, they decided to withdraw $125 a month from my account. As soon as I had found out that they had withdrawing 125 a month. I had immediately called my bank and explained to them why was there money withdrawn from my account of the total of $1,125. My bank had immediately submitted a dispute on my behalf since I wanted to get to the bottom of it and as soon as I got off the phone with my bank. I went to crunch and told them in person that why have they been withdrawing this amount of money from my account. I was extremely furious and still am about the entire situation. After explaining to them about my situation, I had requested the agreement/copy of the document when I had signed up for crunch. After I had requested a copy they said, that they couldn't release copy of the agreement when I had signed and without a doubt I had signed a document where it stated that I had consented and had given permission to crunch to withdraw money from my account. They refused to email me a copy of the agreement. Therefore, I did not have a choice and decided to take this issue to corporate since they were being uncooperative and act like that I wasn't going to do a damn thing about it. Fortunately, I spoke to a kind crunch rep, she was extremely helpful and luckily she emailed me a copy of the agreement (the one crunch did not want to release to me at the time when I had spoke to them). As I waited for the email from the crunch rep, I opened the document and showed that in the document they had used my account information along with my name and other information that was provided on the document. However, the person who had signed that document was not me, and instead of using their information, they had used mine instead. How can they make a mistake such as this one and supposedly these crunch employees are trained to do their job yet they managed to screw up on their end and won't acknowledge the fact that they have fault and didn't bother to take my issue into consideration. This has caused me stress, frustration after frustration, and emotional distress.
I BELIEVE THAT CRUNCH IS ONE MESSED UP AND CORRUPTED GYM.

This location is in Fort Myers
This location is in Fort Myers, Bass Rd. They have outdated equipment. Front desk people are not trained to help and trainers are rude, arrogant and do not want to help. Manager, Edgar is the problem. He sets the wrong tone. I quit, joint Around The Clock and what a difference. People are nice, everybody is helpful. Top notch the latest machines. Crunch at Bass Rd. in Fort Myers do not deserve your business and your money.

Crunch Stockton
Crunch Stockton, CA BOUGHT my bank account information from a closed gym(Fit Evo/Fit Republic). Though I've never stepped foot in the establishment, Crunch has been charging my bank account directly. Stay away from Crunch-- they are engaged in an embezzlement scheme.
