The crunch at the Brook Rd. Richmond, Va is highly unprofessional company.
They charged me twice in a month. After calling them they told me that they cannot do refunds. I called my bank, and they issued me a refund.
After that Crunch canceled my membership, without any notice. When I checked my enrollment information, they misspelled my name, put wrong my address in their system, even put another state. They put my wrong phone number, email......after termination of my membership, they asked me to pay some enormous amount of money, in order to reenroll me again..... Totally unethical or unprofessional people.
Not recommended at all.

Don't be the next victim of scamming!!
These are the reasons I consider this business a scam.
1. When you are in the process of signing up, a store guy comes over and tells you that you shouldn't sign up for the cheapest option. Their trick is that a lady starts taking your information and discusses membership options but then another male employee starts interjecting. This is to overwhelm you so you will sign up for a more expensive option.
2. They require both credit card Debit card information. If you ask why, they say that debit is for monthly billing and the credit card is for incidental charges such as buying soda at the gym. Total scam! I cancel my debit card and my membership but they went and charged my credit card.
3.If you move from the area, they don't cancel the membership unless the gym in the town you will be moving in is more than 25 miles from your home. Can you imagine going to a gym 20 miles from your home? Total scam!
Also make sure get a printed copy of T&C and fully read it before you join the gym.

Great crew at a great gym.
My wife and I joined Crunch Countryside a year ago today and signed up with two trainers (Josh & Brooke). We couldn't be more pleased with our personal trainers and the entire staff, from Cole at the front desk to Will who keeps the gym spotless!!! We both feel so welcomed each and every time we walk in the front door. I recently retired, and they have given me a new family after leaving my work family of 51 years!!!

These people literally rip people off
These people literally rip people off. They went into Walmart and signed up all of the younger employees like high school age for a penny and did not tell them the full story on what they would be paying. One of these employees happen to be my younger son who gave out his card number to the sales villain with crunch. This account was linked to my account. When I seen the first charge I called crunch and they had explained to me that the first month was a penny and that my son signed a contract that he had to be tied into for 90 days. So here’s how it works the first month is one penny just to confirm that you have a legit checking account. Then there after you are charged 29.99 for 90 days and the third month in 60 days you are charged a 49.99 annual renewal charge on top of the 29.99 monthly fee and you cannot cancel until the end of the 90 day contract. My son didn’t even know what he was doing because they filled to give him all of the details and tricked him into signing a contract. My son said the guy stood next to him and intimidated him to get into this contract kind of like bullying and he didn’t feel like he could say no. Don’t fall for it guys just cancel your bank card if you’ve already given it out. They know not everybody’s gonna go and they’re gonna take your money and they will not feel bad about it. I actually clicked on one star accidentally it won’t let me and check the star. I write this with zero stars.

SCAM - RUN! DON'T WALK!!
CRUNCH FITNESS - SCAM!!!!!
I enrolled in a two-month Personal Trainer program with CRUNCH FITNESS - Northlake Blvd, Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and paid four installments of $536 for a total of $2,144.
On November 6, 2022, I received an unauthorized charge of $536 on my debit card; I called the bank and informed them about the unauthorized transaction, and the bank canceled my debit card and opened an investigation. I also sent a letter to the gym requesting a refund and canceling my monthly gym membership; but I didn't receive a response.
Today, November 22, 2022, the gym debited again $536, this time they debited the money out of my bank account - I never shared my bank account number with them. I called my bank again to report the last unauthorized charge. I am still determining how the gym illegally obtained my bank account and routing number. I'm afraid they will keep debiting money from my bank account using a different merchant information or a different amount.
I've seen many online reviews from customers with similar complaints - it looks like this is not an isolated case but a fraud scheme created by ABC CRUNCH FITNESS.
The customer's rights are being violated as well as the customer's private information (bank account). It is a shame that big companies steal money and prey on customers' vulnerability. I am requesting the unauthorized charges ($1,072) be credited back to my bank account.
The staff member NEVER DISCLOSED that the personal training program would be automatically renewed every two months. Please DO NOT give them your debit card information and DO NOT sign any contracts using the gym's electronic device - this is done to prevent you from reading the small print, and they will mislead you to sign
the electronic screen without knowing that you are signing an automatic renewal.
RUN!!! DON'T WALK!!

Lack of Customer Empathy and Lack of Accountability
My wife Jael Wells Cuellar became a member recently of the Wellington, FL location. She signed my son up for personal training with Albert, who has been great.
Unfortunately we have had to put a pause to the training. We came in to see Albert who handed us off to Kevin, his manager. Kevin told us that the services is now cancelled and that we had 7 sessions left.
A week later we got a charge on our American Express for $141. When we inquired, Kevin told Albert that we did not cancel within a 10 day period, something that Kevin never explained to us. Kevin, at that point refused to step-in and call us for a resolution.
Albert, who agrees that we should have been told offered to pay out of his own pocket in order to make it right and keep us as customers. We of course refused to have Albert pay for a miscommunication from his manager.
I had AMEX dispute the charge, since Kevin would not speak to us. Two weeks later, another $141 charge appears on AMEX from a different merchant ID.
We spoke to Carmen, who tried to intervene.
Almost a month and after endless calls, emails and texts, today Kevin called me.
His response to me when I tried to hold him accountable for not explaining the cancelation and setting proper expectations, was that it is not his fault, that he is not responsible for explaining anything to us, that it is Albert fault for not explaining it to us.
He also did not believe that we were charged twice by AMEX implying that I was lying, so I had to bring him my AMEX app and show him CLEARLY two charges from Crunch after the cancellation.
He asked me, what do you want from me.... I told him to do what a customer centric manager does, hold yourself accountable for your miscommunication, instead of passing the blame. His snarky remark in the presence of Albert was disheartening to say the least.
So, since I disputed the charges, AMEX will once again credit me the charge. Which means that there will still be a remaining balance on my account. This is not about the money. What you have is a clear contrast of what customer centric individuals look like, such as Albert, Carmen and the Assistant General Manager, Cole, who demonstrated empathy and clearly agree that the ball was dropped, vs. Kevin, who although being a manager, does not have a single ounce of empathy, accountability, tact, communication skills and did nothing to even try to make this right.
As a result, today we cancelled our Gym membership. I refuse to support what should be a customer centric organization, that allows a manager with a complete lack of the concept of a frictionless customer experience and who is not willing to fall on the sword, rather he just passes the blame to others.
In Kevin, you have more than a weak link; you have a complete customer experience failure.
I would like to be credited for the $141 that I was charged after Kevin informed me that all was canceled.
We will not step foot in your gym until a change has occurred. If you continue to hire managers who are not customer centric, we will not be the only family leaving your gym.
And if I were you guys, I would be recognizing those that stepped up and showed empathy and a willingness to help. That would be Albert, Carmen and Cole. Failure to do so will be a missed opportunity to promote frictionless customer experiences.... your customers will leave as a result.
