I called to ask about trial 7 day membership, Lady was nice, I sign up, go into the store show email I got from them, in my name, and bang got it. Sign the thing, oh, hold up another lady shows up, askes for my ID, and in ten seconds comes up with I've had several trials and have to pay or sign a contract. Day pass is like 5 bucks but I've only been in Fargo for 3 weeks and their computer didn't see any issue with my trial, just the little gay girl at the desk. Hmm either they are hurting for 5 bucks or men aren't allowed. Either way, forget that. I can go for a walk and not be caught up in some b.s. recruiting scam.

Jacuzzi frequently down, staff doesn't know, either calling ahead or asking in person. When janitor is cleaning the bathroom, the entire locker room is closed w no access for about 45 minutes.

Been a member for 4 years. I’ve emailed and spoke with people at front desk about an issue membership issue I’m having. A manager is supposedly going to reach out to me but never has. My emails have not been responded to either. This company is a waste of money

Crunch Fitness on McKnight Road Pittsburgh is a sham that exploits their members. My son signed up during a promotion of 4 cents for a one month membership - he thought it was just to give it a try. He realized that he was not going to be able to work out regularly. So, within the first month, he tried to cancel. They told him he had to be a member for 60 days to cancel. So, after 60 days, he went to cancel, and they told him that he had to put in writing that he wanted to cancel, but he was still obligated for another 30 days. In those 30 days, they charged him an annual fee, plus the monthly fee, plus a service charge, plus a late fee because HE DID NOT WANT TO BE A MEMBER THERE ANY MORE. He only used the gym one time! After getting the Better Business Bureau and the State Attorney General involved - they waived all fees and let him quit. You should not have to bully a gym into quitting. THEY ARE A HORRIBLE ORGANIZATION. In addition, they are violating laws set up to protect consumers from exploitation. I highly recommend filing a complaint with the Attorney General of New York where their headquarters are based.

OPEN LETTER TO CRUNCH FITNESS APOLLO BEACH: YOUR PREDATORY CANCELLATION PRACTICES MUST STOP To the management of Crunch Fitness Apollo Beach and Crunch Corporate Headquarters, I am writing to formally call out what I — and many others — see as an unfair, predatory, and potentially unlawful cancellation process being enforced at your Apollo Beach location. After being charged $160, I attempted to cancel my membership. Instead of assistance, I was told I would have to pay another $160 just to stop the billing, or — and I quote — “go to collections if you don’t like it.” This hostile response, paired with a lack of accessible support, is not just unprofessional — it may violate consumer protection laws at both the state and federal level. ⸻ ⚖️ LAWS YOU MAY BE VIOLATING 1. Florida Health Studio Act (Florida Statute § 501.017) • Requires contracts to have clear cancellation rights. • Must offer a 3-day cancellation window, refunds processed within 30 days, and no deceptive or misleading terms. • Making cancellation confusing, inaccessible, or retaliatory may breach this law. 2. Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act (FDUTPA) (§ 501.204) • Prohibits unfair, deceptive, or aggressive practices that harm consumers. • Telling someone to “go to collections” for simply requesting cancellation may fall under this definition. 3. Federal Trade Commission “Click-to-Cancel” Rule (Effective May 14, 2025) • If a membership can be started online, it must be cancellable online just as easily. • Businesses cannot bury cancellation behind red tape, hidden terms, or demand in-person visits or mailed letters unless the sign-up required the same. ⸻ 🧭 TO OTHER MEMBERS GOING THROUGH THIS If you’ve had a similar experience at Crunch, you have legal rights. Don’t stay silent. File a complaint or get assistance here: • Florida Attorney General Consumer Division 📞 1‑866‑9‑NO‑SCAM 🌐 www.myfloridalegal. com • Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services (FDACS) 📞 1‑800‑HELP‑FLA 🌐 www.800helpfla. com • Federal Trade Commission (FTC) 🌐 www.reportfraud. ftc. gov 📬 Pro Tip: Send cancellation requests via certified mail and include a copy of Florida Statute § 501.017 and reference to the FTC’s click-to-cancel rule. ⸻ 📣 OUR MESSAGE TO CRUNCH We’re asking you to: 1. Immediately review your cancellation practices and ensure compliance with Florida and federal law. 2. Implement a simple, online cancellation process for all memberships. 3. End the use of threatening language, harassment, and aggressive financial policies. 4. Train your team to handle cancellations with respect, transparency, and lawful procedures. Your gym should be a place for self-improvement — not legal battles, threats, or financial traps. We, the community, deserve better. And we’re watching closely. Sincerely, A concerned former member
