Closets By DesignReviews of closetsbydesign.com

These people offered us a specific set of cabinets and then installed another. The product was not what we ordered. When I brought this to their attention they stated that they would remedy the situation and then promptly disappeared. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!! You will thank me later!! Should you not heed this advice and have these people in your home, then you need to trust your instincts. Do they seem professional (NO!!), do they give you that feeling of trust (NO!!), then maybe you can trust your own instincts (as I/we did not) and find a professional to do this VERY IMPORTANT project for you. But don't allow things to get that far. You wanted to read reviews to learn more before you do this project. Now trust these people who all are trying to tell you to RUN!!!

Wish I could give negative stars. Don’t use them. You’ll thank me later. If they don’t make this better and just refund my money I will be taking legal action as well as going to the BBB

The company overall was very good to work with. The designer (Eva Santiago) was helpful, and thoughtful in her work. She also touched base from the time of design until after install to answer questions and make sure we were happy with the outcome. The installers did a good job as well, were clean in their work, and attentive to detail.

Closets by Design had already installed elaborate dressing room closets over twenty years ago in a then newly built luxury condo we bought thirteen years ago. Our relationship with the company has been stellar through this time. When we bought our unit, one of their designers helped me add a matching island on wheels for storage of scarves and costume jewelry that is wonderfully convenient. She also arranged to relocate units in my husband's dressing room to better serve him. When I overloaded a hanging bar, Closets By Design sent able workmen to stabilize it--permanently. And recently, when a carpet installer accidentally broke one of the glass doors on a unit, the company, under new local management, replaced it perfectly, even though it was oversized by current installation standards! This is a competent, creative, flexible, reliable operation with the nicest of personnel, a bright light in a naughty world!

Incredibly dishonest. I used them due to a lifetime warranty however I had 2 major issues . It got wet which destroyed one unit which they said wasn't covered . Now, all the shelves are bowing 1/4 to 3/8 of an inch . When I called them they said turn the shelves over. I said it would look ridiculous . They refused to replace the shelves . They were disgusting on the phone . Horrible cheap product with a horrible , dishonest company.A lifetime warranty did not last one month. DO NOT USE THEM.

Over the past couple of years I have used Closet by design to make the homes I have bought and sold functional with amazing storage, and aesthetically pleasing. The designer I trust implicitly is Christine Champos. She first listens, second is upfront on price, and third follows your vision on your timeline. Then the installers Billy and Etalo then took the vision and made it reality. I wouldn’t hesitate giving a reference to their timely work and professionalism. The pictures do no justice.

Absolutely the most unprofessional business that you could deal with in Charlotte. Owners are eccentric, self appeasing, and care. Nothing about their employees or their customers. Their processes are subpar at best and their product overpriced. Strongly suggest, taking your business somewhere else for a better value and less toxicity

Designer was easy to work with and designed exactly what we needed for my dad’s apartment at a senior community. Main issue was that the wrong doors were sent -twice! He ordered custom desk with a Murphy bed for his spare bedroom with deco trim on doors. The unit was supposed to be equal in height all the way across desk to Murphy bed. It was designed taller than normal because of the wall height and an alarm panel, but the Murphy bed section is not as tall as the desk. In addition, the wrong doors were sent, delaying the installation. When plain doors were sent a second time, the local office installed the desk and is supposed to swap out the doors next week. I have received no communication about the timing for the door replacement. The file hangers for the file drawer and the keyboard pull out were also missing during initial install. Hopefully everything will be remedied when the correct doors are installed. I’m letting the height difference go because it’s too much of a hassle to fight it. I was pleased with the design and the installers, but the ordering process/communication has been much less than expected for a $9000+ unit.
