Empty promises, unresolved issues, lack of coverage
I have called in about 10 times to try to resolve an oustanding bill for an ambulance ride. Even though I was promised time and again that Cigna would take care of the bill (I had already maxed out my insurance for the year). And yet every month I've gotten a bill from the fire department. It was truly a life or death experience, extremely traumatizing--and the back and forth over this for the past year and a half has only prolonged the experience. The customer service reps are kind, patient, and helpful--but their policies make it impossible to talk to someone who can actually help me and resolve the situation. **UPDATE 06/22/2026** So after this initial post, Cigna finally contacted me and gave me a specific person to handle my case. This person was able to get my payment down from $2,375.06 to $483.99. Was I happy that they were able to finally drop the bill significantly? Yes. Megan was super helpful in that way. Am I satisfied with the situation? Absolutely not. I shouldn't have had to pay a dime for this ambulance ride. I had maxed out my out-of-pocket and an ambulance ride should 1000% be covered by the type of insurance we were paying. It's clear that Cigna still needs to figure out this issue with emergency care discrepancies because I am not the only person who has had this problem. SO thanks for finally helping Cigna and for a great customer care agent. But your policies suck and it's a well-known fact. Do better.
