Poor service
Poor service. I paid my premium via my paystubs and anyway I had to pay for annual preventative visit with a provider that in the website is in network. I am another victim of the scam of having health insurance.

Four calls, a chat, and three pharmacies to move one prescription I moved states and needed to move one maintenance prescription, a specialty medication I take weekly, from my old retail pharmacy to Cigna's home delivery. Here's what that took. Cigna told me the pharmacist had to call Cigna to transfer it. The pharmacist told me Cigna had to call them. My doctor's office wouldn't send a new prescription because the active one was already sitting at the pharmacy. Cigna's website says to click "Switch Today" next to the medication in myCigna. There is no button. My medications page says I have no prescriptions in the last 90 days, while the same page lists three claims for that exact prescription. On my second call, the rep conferenced in the pharmacy, then dropped off the line. The pharmacist told me the call had been routed to the wrong department. The chatbot gave me the same paragraph three times. When I finally reached a person on chat, he told me my medication isn't handled by Cigna's home delivery pharmacy at all, but by a different specialty pharmacy that prefers to get prescriptions straight from the doctor. That was the one fact I needed on the first call, and it took a day to find. I gave up and called a small local pharmacy. One call, done in minutes. Then Cigna wouldn't let them fill it because they're too small. It's going to a CVS now. To be clear: every agent I talked to was polite and trying to help. This isn't on them. They're working inside a system that's been cut to the bone to save money, with tools that don't show them the right answer. That's a choice Cigna made, and its members pay for it in hours on the phone.

Over priced, complete let down, not sure why my employer uses these absolute scammers, but paying several hundred dollars a month, for something that doesn’t even cover routine doctor visits should be a crime. If you’re an employer look somewhere else. 198 dollars a visit is insanity

Just awful. I have a heakth condition with lab backup and they won't acknowledge the labs. The say missing documentation and won't clarify what's missing. Without my medication there will be significant medical events which I would say would cost CiGNA more but I hear yhey deny medical claims left right and center as well. Poor communication and coverage .. why bother with them they are not a health care company. Iid give them a negative rating if that was possible. Really despicable. Good thing I have contacts in DC they'll be hearing about this.

I was recently advised by my doctor to undergo a routine 2-year follow-up EGD for my condition, which Cigna's own guidelines indicate is a valid reason for coverage. Despite this, Cigna denied the pre-authorization, stating that the documentation did not support a covered reason for testing, even though my physician clearly documented the medical necessity. With the procedure costing approximately $10,000 without coverage, it is unaffordable. Unfortunately, this is not my first negative experience with Cigna. Obtaining coverage for necessary care has consistently been difficult, and I have found their health and dental benefits to be less competitive than other insurers. Their limited in-network provider network has also forced me to change doctors multiple times. Based on my experiences, I would not recommend Cigna. If I could, I would give them 0 stars. If your employer offers health insurance coverage through Cigna, I would advise against it as you would almost be better off uninsured than using their coverage.

I'm not sure if it is like this with all insurance companies these days, but I have been denied multiple MRIs for my knees. Pain and feeling like ball bearings are rolling around in them. I'll deal with it until I can't. Then I'll find another solution for denial. But when you denied my wife thumb surgery, after already having it done. Yes the is a huge problem. Especially when they use EviCore to decide for them. They falsely put statements in doctors mouths. They stated the doctor said thumb surgery was needed for back pain. Cigna and EviCore are both insane. Her surgery was scheduled almost a month out and it took until after the procedure was done to deny it on bullshit grounds. If things are not taken care of by 10/23/26, I will be seeking legal counsel. We should be concentrating on her recovery. Instead I more issues to be concerned about. We pay premiums for what? I didn't have this BS with BlueCross. Take a piece of advice, find a different insurance provider.

No Stars. Provide incorrect information (no pharmacy benefit and being passed around 9 different departments) to providers resulting in missed pre-authorisation for chronic condition medication. Customer service do not answer aspects of complaints, promise you will get a resolution then that resolution never comes. Complaints handling team only repeat the complaint scenarios and apologise without offering any sort of resolution or actions taken. They claim notifications were issued regarding the medications pre-auth, they weren't.

They denied my daughters medical for many appointments. I fought it and after about a year, they stated they'd issue a refund. I spent another 6 months trying to get those checks. Just now told that the account has been closed and reimbursement is not possible.
