Cigna is trash. They deny everything and force you to jump through hoops for everything. Good luck finding top rate provider that accepts them. I'm ready to switch jobs just so I don't have to use then anymore.

I have been trying to submit a claim for my minor child for two years now. I have physically mailed and faxed it multiple times and yet they cannot find it in their system. They have responded via mail requesting a different code. When I send the different billing code I hear nothing back. I called to follow up and they magically can't find the claim or the response in their system. I am not unable to upload it online because I am not the subscriber, my 10 year old is and clearly I cannot create an online account under his name due to his age.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Cigna has been beyond frustrating. What should have been a straightforward process turned into weeks of back-and-forth with no clear answers. Every time I contacted support, I was either transferred multiple times or given conflicting information. Simple requests took far longer than they should, and I constantly felt like I had to chase them just to get basic updates. It honestly feels like the system is designed to wear you down rather than help you. On top of that, transparency is seriously lacking — charges, approvals, and timelines are never clearly explained, which makes the whole experience even more stressful. For a company that deals with something as important as health coverage, this level of inefficiency and poor communication is unacceptable. I expected reliability, but instead got confusion and delays at every step. Would not recommend based on my experience.

Denied a covered claim . Submitted 3 times . 1st denied saying they had incomplete information. Spoke to representative who resubmitted. Denied and when called, representative said they had all information. Denied and when called, representative put me on hold while they contacted dentist. Came back to say the recieved the missing information. Denied again and when called,refused to tell me the information they needed.

Worst insurance company ever! Denies medication doctors order constantly and has a scam prior approval so called process. DISGUSTING company cares nothing about customer service which is outsourced or the health of the customer, or the doctor's request of proper medication for the patients. There should be laws against this type of insurance practice and scam type of operation.

Terrible customer service, do not want to pay and claims process time is lousy.

NEGLIGENT CLAIM HANDLING!

I would give them no stars if it was allowed. I spend the first 6 months of every year trying to get them to unsuspend my FSA account. They will tell you every time that it could take up to 15 days. That’s a lie. Last year it was June before I could use the money that is taken out of MY pay check weekly. This year I’m still currently fighting it in April and no one can tell me anything ever. You can’t talk to the team that handles it and all customer service will say is, it’s being reviewed by the team that handles it. I thought last year was just an unfortunate fluke but seems like this is the regular. This will be the last year that we use them for anything.
