Their website sent me to a provider that was not covered in network, had me wait an hour on hold for someone who barely spoke English, and the situation was that it didn't matter because it wasn't covered. I'd rate lower if I could.

The worst dental insurance. You can pay your monthly statement but they RARELY if ever reimburse for anything. It's almost like they are theives. Not once have they reimbursed for a cleaning. I had a tooth extraction for $300, they reimbursed $20. Please look elsewhere if you want dental insurance. These people are crooks.

Cigna has been one of the most frustrating health insurance companies I have ever dealt with. Despite paying extremely high premiums, they continually deny or delay prescriptions that are critical for diabetes management. It feels like profits matter more than patient health. The constant prior authorizations, denials, and hoops patients are forced to jump through create unnecessary stress and can seriously impact people’s health. For a company that claims to support healthcare, Cigna’s practices often feel unfair and harmful to the very people relying on coverage. High costs combined with high denial rates make this one of the worst insurance experiences I’ve ever had. Companies that repeatedly deny medically necessary treatments should be held accountable and investigated for unfair practices.

The 1 star is because you can't give zero. I jumped onto Cigna Dental Vision Hearing plan in November 2025, to start Dec 1. From the beginning it was not smooth. They changed start date, their phone lines were so busy you couldn't get through. Their handbook of coverage reads like it's designed to be inscrutable. And to top it off they do not provide digital copies of things and send documents printed on one side of the page. For a single claim I got 8 printed pages and they paid nothing. Good luck to anyone trying to get a representative on the phone who actually knows the plan. And you must be able to HEAR them and understand them. It was miserable experience where I wasted $60/month on a program that gave me 0. I cancelled the plan and am seeking a refund. Cigna's change to HealthSpring and HCSC? ( Which they never disclosed was delayed and made matters worse. Communications come from HCSC, whereas that entity was never recognized.. They sent me a secure email that I was supposed to open from a logo and company I had never heard of. Spam, is what I call it. No way I was clicking a link to an unknown organization. Just really poor service and communication. And Cigna’s response below makes this all clear! They took my money and take no responsibility. Healthspring website is a joke, you’d think a teenager set it up. Their app is no better. HCSC, nor U.S. Healthspring even exist on Trustpilot! Sorry, this is Cigna’s doing I want my money back!
