I have emailed letushelpu at Cigna.com Let’s see if they actually fix it. If they do not, I will be doing a charge back of the $171 i have just paid for my monthly premium because this would show that this company is a fraud. I need my refund back!

This was a second time I encountered a weird situation: the self-pay rate of the provider was materially (like $100+) less than the contract/allowed amount under my insurance. And since I have a high-deductible health plan all this premium comes out of MY pocket. I have never experienced things like this before with other insurers. I thought insurance is supposed to save you money, not pay you more for care when you already pay the premiums

Good customer service though improvement will be greatly appreciated.

I have been out of work since 9/23 called my claim in 10/8 a few days after I got out hospital which was on 10/2 the guy who did my claim put it in wrong.. he put i was going to be out of work 10/23.. like how could he make such a big mistake, so after a few days I noticed that and called and had it fixed, so now its 10/14 my claim was updated 10/15 I have completed everything and they have everything now I'm still waiting on them to just approve my claim, at this point i am very frustrated i have short term disability this is why I have insurance and now I'm out of work due to having surgery and can't even get what's owed to me to make ends meet, and every time I call they say it's just waiting on approval... Guess I'll be back at work when that happens.

I had a hip replacement. Surgeon recommended physical therapy (PT) 4 times a weeks. Got denied by Cigna: Twice a week should be enough they said (because of course they know better than a surgeon!!). Consequence: If you get half the recommended treatment, it takes twice the time for you to recover. My plan includes 60 PT sessions a year. After 29, I was denied further treatment because I was not improving fast enough!! So Cigna concluded that PT was not the right treatment!! Go figure a way to recover from your surgery yourself!!

Terrible business practices! My daughter has been sick for a year and they have denied her treatment over and over again. She has seen numerous specialist who all agree on her treatment path which would cure her. Instead the insurance company denies every claim while my daughter lives in misery everyday of her life. A quick google search will show that Cigna revenue for 2019 was $153.6 billion! How are they making so much money you may wonder. Well I can tell you they are getting rich off of the pain and suffering of others. I hope karma catches up with them in my lifetime. You should feel disgusted that you allow a 9 year old child to live in pain so you can line your pockets with money. Follow up: Just so everyone knows I did reach out to the Cigna person that responded below and received no response. I've been paying out of pocket for my daughters treatments the last two months and also seen another specialist. The new doctor has recommended a different treatment which he submitted and we were denied yet again. This company is unbelievable. If you have any other choice in healthcare chose a different company or you could be denied serious medical treatments that you need.

Cigna makes the case for why we should have federal health insurance. There web application for finding an in network doctor is completly erroneous. The contacts for the top 20 doctors Cigna suggested near me all either lead to doctor offices that were no longer practicing or didn't exist. Several of the numbers led to a Planned Parenthood office who kindly and repeatedly explained to me that despite what Cigna said, they do not have the type of doctor I was looking for. I never did find an in network doctor through there webapp. The itself insurance covers little. I miss my healthcare in Namibia, but I guess I can't expect the same quality in a third world country like the US.

It is unfortunate but Cigna truly is a criminal enterprise which is leeching from communities it boasts to support so all their revenue/profits are a false indicator of company performance as in reality Cigna is engaging in unethical and illegal practices. I have been on disability for 13 months and still have not been paid ANY long term disability (LTD) payment even after providing Cigna with over ~700 pages of documents/letters from two unrelated MDs, a therapist, and my IOP programs. The claim denial is almost criminally systemic. My doctors have stated in letters Cigna is not willing to accept any evidence from them. Cigna made several claims which were illogical, inaccurate, illegal which violate my LTD policy. Cigna has in past accessed health records without my authorization which was not required per my LTD policy (ie. pre-existing period). Cigna agents will not return calls or emails then blatantly lie they never received faxes. Cigna misinterprets doctor notes to systematically deny your benefits. They give the illusion of conducting impartial reviews but it is far from reality. Cigna gives unrealistic deadlines that by the time you get a doctors appointment it is already late. I have wasted at least 10-12 one hour doctor appointments writing to Cigna. They pay no attention to what is written instead keep denying with the same reason as original denial. The agents know exactly what is required up front but they intentionally make one request per denial to drag matters into months. I am filing a second BBB complaint – after the first complaint they had me speak to an advocacy team which is a front as even now I have not received any LTD payments. I have no choice but to get an attorney per my physicians. Cigna employees including executives knowingly made my disability worse than to start with.
