I have got a health insurance cover with Cigna UK through my employer since 2019. I have recently made a claim for knee injury and was satisfied with the process. I booked a consultant of my choice at the BMI London Independent Hospital and all costs were covered. I am totally satisfied.

Trust the reviews written by customers
Trust the reviews written by customers. I am not sure how Cigna got an A+ in BBB but I file my complaint there. Summary: if you have a choice, pick another insurance company. #1. The names of their plan will confuse everyone - staff will ask me what's LocalIN plus, never hear of that. What's EPO? Is that PPO or HMO? #2. Be prepared to appeal. They will reject your claim for treatment ordered by your doctor at a facility approved/suggested by them. Hope your doctor can help. Otherwise, you are on your own. #3. Phone support is almost useless. People on the phone are trying hard to help but their knowledge is limited and they tried to search the web to answer your question. You can try to search their webpages too but good luck - very confusing. #4. Cigna's goal is to make money and not to take care of your health or pay your treatment. They tried their best to not pay and maximize their profit. Look for other better options if you can so you can focus on your health. Take care and be safe.

Absolutely horrible experience with…
Absolutely horrible experience with Cigna. Took forever to get through to someone for issues with claims.
Still on hold now to talk to someone about confirmation that my son's account was actually cancelled as requested.

I just booked in a medical appointment but the clinic won't accept it due to Cigna owing them money. Now me as the customer has to collect this debt. I just waited 2 hours and 14 minutes on hold trying to sort this before giving up. I wish my work stayed with AXA.

Avoid Cigna Part D at all cost
Have now had Cigna Medicare Drug insurance (Part D) for 11 months, who uses Express Scripts to fill prescriptions. I want to save everyone from heartache. DO NOT USE THIS PAN FOR ANY REASON. Pay more for another plan but pay yourself with peace of mind. I can not say enough bad things about this company. They deserve a zero. Web sites are unbelieveable to navigate. Try finding a drug price could take 10 minutes. But wait--the price will be incorrect. You call them and take 10 minutes to speak to a human and they will give you a price and tell you the internet prices are only esitimates, but that will not be the price you saw online, and they cannot see what you see online, and they cannot tell you what pharmacy will honor the price you saw. I even emailed the President of Cigna with my complaint of how difficult the navigation of their website is, even offering my time to discuss with one of their programmers/website developers. Crickets for a response--not even acknowledgement of the email. They also have a company rule which does not allow them to tell you the name of the drug in emails. They only give you the first letter or first few. So you then have to log in to your account to find the name of the drug. Your time is worth nothing to this company. And did I mention, you actually have to log in to 2 different web sites to deal with drugs? You have to log in to Cigna to get the APPROXIMATE drug price, the you have to log in to Express Scripts to see if the drug is available for refill or if prescription is in process. Cigna also has a rule that a NEW prescription will not be shipped until you call them to release it. All printed info sent to me by Cigna did not mention this that I saw. So on 2 occasions, I was waiting, waiting, waiting. When I called they then shipped it. I made multiple complaints to Medicare and got form letters from Cigna, checking in to it. I guess they are still checking--nothing has changed on websites. Please note, Express Scripts did what they were supposed to do, but Cigna, website, and personnel are for the birds. Avoid at all cost.

Severe incompetence
There are seven people in my family. Whoever entered our information must have decided that only four people should be covered because they entered three, that is three out of seven, birthdays incorrectly. We have been denied coverage for claims and been charged thousands of dollars worth of medical bills because they are pretending not to cover us. This seems like fraudulent activity. Just one birthday error is an understandable mistake, but three out of seven seems like they are intentionally trying not to cover medical claims. By the time I discovered the actual problem, many of the bills had already been paid out of pocket or sent to a collection agency. This has caused me personal damage and taken countless hours to deal with.
