Before writing this review, I want say something. I would rather give zero stars but there is no option for that. I want start off with how Cigna is a horrible place for insurance, to everyone, DO NOT TRUST CIGNA. It is place where you get bad experience and I am telling this to everyone but don't trust Cigna for handling your daily life insurance in many companies. I DESPISE, HATE, and could say many words about Cigna, but the only thing is to say, get Cigna out of business, like make sure they don't open up again, because it can cause many problems for you and have the worst experience in your life. SO GET CIGNA OUT OF BUSINESS!!

They deserve NEGATIVE stars. They WILL NOT provide a real ID card without having to call in and deal with a stupid AI, then you have to speak to a foreigner who can barely speak English. The "customer service" is rude and they will hang up on you when they cannot communicate or pronounce words. Three phone calls and I STILL do not have an ID card being mailed to me. They expect you to install their app or carry around a couple printed pieces of paper in a bad format that looks fake and terrible. Even on a NEW policy they're too cheap to provide a basic insurance card. I had dental/vision/hearing insurance with them for a few previous years and it is also terrible trying to deal with them when you have a claim they try to deny or cheat you on. Their customer service is so bad that I have cancelled credit cards to stop payment and end policies with them. AGAIN, because their foreigner customer service is a bad joke.

Cigna does not care about patients, it only cares about profit. Listen to the other 1 star reviews. It is sad to say, but companies like this are why the people in the United States revolt against the CEOs.

I've had to literally threaten my own life to get them to reveal that YES, emergency care was covered under my policy. Now I have EAP, they should offer therapists. They show one as accepting appointments within five days - THEY DO NOT EXIST. EDIT: they replied they'd help - they are doing this to cover up their problem, I've spent hours on the phone, we are moving to lawsuit not help - they can't be trusted to fix their own issues, we all know this is wrong and we do nothing as a society to end this grift, it's wrong of ALL OF US.

Fell and needed to go to the Emergency room and then was referred to go to an orthopedic doctor the next day. I saw the orthopedic doctor the following day and he gave me a boot to use in addition to the crutches (the latter of which I already owned). Cigna processed the claim for the emergency room and the orthopedic doctor visit (all within my deductible so I was responsible). The boot however was now beyond my deductible and I’m sure you can see where this is going…they denied the claim stating they needed me to call and give them the referring doctor for the boot. I dunno Cigna…maybe the same doctor I saw on the same day? Who did X-rays and an exam and then gave me the boot and billed you??!!!!!! So I go through the motions and call to give the agent both the name of the emergency room doctor and the orthopedic doctor (even though they are well aware of both). I was told the would reprocess. They did…and again denied the boot. I spent an hour arguing with an agent who finally acknowledged they had no idea why the boot would be denied. This is why people hate insurance. This is a huge game to them. The second I met my deductible they coincidentally deny the first claim they are 100% responsible for. These executives are making millions and I’ve now spent so much time trying to get a $499 boot covered. Absolute insanity. Oh and my deductible is $5000. Yup.

I logged into Cigna and saw MyCigna through MDLive as an option for virtual appointments. The portal stated that psychiatrist appointment would cost me $0 so I booked an appointment. I usually go through general medicine for $30 but was excited to see my dashboard say $0. Well the $0 was innacurate because I now received a bill for $261!? My portal is now updated to show $261 for visits but it was $0 or else I would have NEVER booked with them. I contacted MDLive and Cigna and customer support and neither could help or seemed to care. Don't waste your time with Cigna (I've seen other reviews with the same $0 incident happening to them as well so beware).
