Had a reservation in Salinas at the Comfort Inn and went to check in because my card does not have a chip in they refused to honor my reservation. I offered to pay for the room in cash which they also refused the manager was absolutely no help the woman at the front desk was the rudest person I have ever dealt with. If I could give zero stars I would have.

My husband and I stayed at Comfort Suites Fernandina Beach At Amelia Island Friday 1/10/20 through Sunday 1/12/20. My husband booked the hotel and we were unaware that it was not a pet friendly facility. When I checked in, I told the clerk that my husband had booked the hotel and that he could not remember if he had stated that I had an emotional support animal. She looked in the computer and said that he had not. She then asked me for any paperwork for my dog, which I provided. I was still unaware that it was not a pet friendly facility until she asked me sign the hotel paperwork. I then asked her about the no pet policy that is in the paperwork. I asked her if that applied to my support dog and she said no. Had I known that we were going to get charged $250 for my dog we would have just found a different hotel. Yes, it was our oversight for not making sure that it was a pet friendly establishment. However, I specifically asked the clerk at check-in about the pet policy and I was told that we would not be charged. We were in and out of the hotel several times on Saturday and no one said anything to us. On Sunday, my husband was stopped by a clerk about the dog when he was taking her out to go to the bathroom. The general manager (Juan Robles) came out and said that they were not a pet friendly facility. My husband tried to explain the situation to him, but he was not interested in anything that my husband had to say. Upon checking out (about 1/2 hour later) my husband apologized to the clerk and she was supposed to contact the general manager (who was gone at that point) and call us that afternoon, which never happened. I emailed the general manager with no response. After a week, I emailed Choice Hotels and I was told, "I must still defer to the hotel's response as the final resolution to your issue". I emailed them back and asked them how that makes sense considering that the hotel has not responded...? They did not respond to my email, which was a week ago. The simple fact is; upon checking in, an EMPLOYEE of the hotel said that we would NOT be charged, then we were charged $250. It is as simple as that. Those are the FACTS...I do not know what there is to dispute. I hope that the $250 that was unrightfully charged to us is worth the loss of our business (we stay at Choice Hotels several times a year) and all of the negative reviews that I am going to leave on every possible website that I can. Not to mention the complaint that I have filed with the BBB. Before management responds to this with some generic response about how sorry they are and how they hope we will stay with Choice Hotels again, know that obviously the general manager was not interested in my concerns or keeping my business before this negative review since no one called us or responded to my emails.

We rented a suite so our son could have his own sleeping area. We got there at his bedtime so it was dark and we put him to bed in the room right away. The fridge was in the hallway, the carpet was ripped up all over the room, and I did notice a patch missing in the corner of the bedroom where my son slept. In the morning when we left we did a final walk through......in the patch of missing carpet there were 2 razor blades just laying on the floor!!!!!!!!!!!! They are lucky our child stays in bed and doesn't roam and explore on his own. This room should never have been rented out in tj4 condition it was in. We paid cash for the room when we checked in and when we told the front desk they were barely faised by this. Said they would tell their manager to find out what happened. We have been in touch with the GM and the head office and we were only offered points...as if we would stay with this chain ever again! Our stay at the courtyard down the road was 1000% better and half the cost!! Highly disappointed and a waste of $115US.

Excellent experience extended stay made affordable!

Made a reservation and was very clear on the room I requested. VERY CLEAR. Got to hotel paid for room. Got to room and it was completely wrong. Called to get it straightened out and after an 2 hour phone call which I didn't understand 1/4 of due to speaking too fast. I was told there will be an investigation and that they will contact me with a resolution after there inhouse investigation in the phillipnes? Asked for the name of Janet's boss and was told no and asked why did I want her boss's name. So there's more to the story but I've wasted enough of my time with this so in short, please don't do business with them. I would give them -100 stars if I could. Very poor customer service and agents get paid commission so watch out they will give you a room and it will be more than if you went or called the hotel yourself. So do yourself a favor and just bypass these buzzards. Cut them out of the mix and let them dry up!!!

For the most part, my husband and I have been happy with Choice Hotels. They offer good rooms for a very decent price. They also have several deals every year which allow us to get a free night occasionally

I booked a room yesterday through hotels.com and I was charged Bt the Comfort inn & suites Laguardia airport for $116. Due to snow tonight in the ny nj area and freezing rain and ice in the am my business meeting was cancelled for safety reasons. Neither choice hotels, the property or hotels.com would give me a credit. This is a bad unethical and short sighted business practice in the competitive hotel market in the Laguardia airport market in queens. I’ll never do business with any of these companies again unless I’m given a refund or credit.

I booked a room at the Quality Inn Philadelphia Airport this past Thanksgiving weekend. The power went out after 5 minutes of me checking in. The room was completely filthy. The tub was covered in grime. The towels looked like there was dried blood on them. I cannot even begin to describe the stains on the bed sheets. I understand it was a holiday, however it took 6 phone calls (including 2 transfers to dead lines) to get booked at another property with no recompense offered. The associate told me my situation was going to be 'escalated'. I'm still waiting on that. I finally spoke to someone who called himself a 'supervisor' to complain and was only offered an additional 2000 points for my troubles which I have yet to receive. I've sent 2 emails and have yet to receive even an acknowledgement they were received. Poor service all around.
