I was suppose to be on 1st floor. It had not been cleaned yet. It was 3:30 in the afternoon. So I get a room on 2nd floor, with steps. No elevator. The lock on my door did not work. There was used soap in the bathroom. The toilet seat was broken. There was no toilet paper holder. You can’t call the front desk. There is no number for it on the phone. I wanted to get ice and drinks. No ice bucket and no vending on 2nd floor, even though it says there is. That virtual check in is a joke. I will never stay here again and will not recommend your hotel to anyone I consider a friend. This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at.

If I could leave a zero I would
If I could leave a zero I would. In over 55 years of travel this takes the cake! I went online several days in advance and booked a 2 night stay in De Pere, WI @ $162. When I went to check out the second night was upcharged to $440 (almost triple from the previous day). When I asked why, I was told that the Green Bay Packers were going to play a game later in the evening of the day even though I checked out at 9:00 am! My stay had no bearing on the game and the next party checking would be paying the higher rate based on the game that night. I called corporate and they said too bad take it up with them.

We booked a two night stay to see some…
We booked a two night stay to see some friends out of town through Expedia at a comfort Inn that was nonrefundable. We had a medical issue with our dog the weekend prior and we’re unable to go. I contacted choice hotels to see if I could get a voucher some type of credit for the money I paid, and they would not work with me in anyway very disappointed with this chain!!

Zero stars if I could
Zero stars if I could. If you run into any issue at all, zero help. Send you to different 800 numbers with the same results. They made the website look like the hotel website. All people I couldn’t understand. And then the hotel you stayed at can’t help because it isn’t “their reservation”. Lesson learned.

Poor Choice Hotels
Poor Choice Hotels . . . .
Real life is funnier and stranger than anything you can make up ! It's a story that is hard to believe, but thank God there is no loss of life or limb. I want you to understand that I am Platinum Member of Poor choice hotels and have gone to them over the years.
My wife and I dutifully showed up for our appointment on October 3, 2026 at the CLARION hotel in Kimbal, TN. The poor beleaguered woman behind the desk had no working computer and could not issue us a room key because of the water from the roof. God love her, she also mentioned that who know what they would do to the pipes and how long the water would be up. She gave one customer a cash refund, even while we were standing there (and good for her).
We did everything we could to be pleasant and solicitous, even understanding. She said her computer was so water damaged she could not do anything to refund us and she could not give us a room key. She was nice but dealing with a situation.
We left as graciously as we could. We found another hotel. The poor thing was so multitasking .
We also went to the hotel and talked to a man at the Clarion the next day. He went to the computer and told us to call (poor) Choice hotels. We called today, hoping that all the computer information would be entered and, well, we could get our about $100 worth of points back. He did some typing at the computer and told us to call (poor) Choice Hotels because it was out of his control.
Today, we called back and, well, we found out that no good deed (our remarkable patience) ever goes unpunished. We called the number and made it past Almost intelligent (AI) anticustomer itsnoservice (AI) automated inconvenient systems, one of which pretended to be human and then hung up (we had a hard time getting past that one, we had to deal with it twice) and it twice without warning and gave us NO chance to find a human. Twice we got to humans (it was a struggle, both were at call centers outside the US), the first of whom spoke with a rather oriental accent and the second of whom spoke with a rather Hispanic accent. Both customer service reps, in a few words, said no, we will not authorize the refund of about a $100 in points. Both voiced understanding of our concerns; both said no, they would not forward me to any manager or anyone senior, this is it, you are on your own, no we will not award you the points. We will not forward you to anyone else. Twice a voice over the phone brushed us off without remorse, without forwarding us despite a clear request, and I speculate they went on to the call and nothing will ever be followed up with.
The Kimbal Clarion hotel itself says that it will not, that it cannot refund the points. Only Poor Choice Hotels can do that. But, the poor staff at Poor Choice Hotels says that since I have paid with points, no action can or will be taken.
As a last ditch effort, I called 800-300-8800 and spoke with Mr. H. He actually agreed to call the Clarion Kimbal TN hotel and he said that he spoke with a General Manager, Mr. Samir Patel. He said the phone number was 800 657 9605. It will be interesting to see if I ever get the points back. MR. Patel, your thoughts? More importantly, your actions?
I suggested to H that maybe we could post a few photos and a little discussion of this event online. These days with Twitter, Facebook, and Yelp, some of this stuff is just so funny. I have a video.

I am writing to demand immediate…
I am writing to demand immediate accountability for how I was treated at the front desk of the Suburban Studios Salt Lake City Airport location.
I had a valid, confirmed booking to return to the hotel. After driving miles to get there, the manager at the front counter looked at me, stereotyped me, and decided on the spot that I wasn't good enough to stay there. When I asked why, the manager blamed corporate, and corporate blames the manager. Neither side is taking responsibility. I am an elderly, disabled citizen on a fixed income, and being turned away at the desk left me completely stranded at the last minute. I want this investigated, and I want an explanation for why my reservation wasn't honored. David Simmons

No responce to repeated emails to cancel
Making a reservation was easy. Cancelling the refundable reservation was VERY difficult!!! No response to 3 emails sent to reservations and customer services at Choice Hotels. 1 email to the motel i booked but they couldnt cancel as i had to go through Choice Hotel group. Finally a phone call to customer services at Choice Hotels who cancelled it and sent me a confirmation. ALWAYS ask for cancellation confirmation! Dont presume they cancelled. No apology by email or person i spoke to on phone

This is only about Choice Hotels Rewards
This is only about Choice Hotels and their rewards program, which is more like a punishment program. When they ask you if you're ok being transferred for a survey at fhe end of a customer service call, it's actually a sales call from a pushy timeshare or resort stay and they are so pushy you give in and then try to take advantage of the 3 day right to change your mind (its a federal law), you have no info to contact them with and still dont. they were quick to take my money but 20 days and nothing. Choice has evidently partnered with them and promises points for taking the "survey" and i still dont have the extra points promised. They should just eliminate the points program- Also, for some reason i have a "-12,000 adjustment". more punishment probably for not using them? i dont even know but, it really doesnt matter. we wont be using them anytime soon. take my points and shove them....
