One of the worst hotel chains I have ever tried. They have the low income housing at their hotels and the guests are super sketchy. I had 3 nights booked at the rodeway capri in New Jersey. I was approached by a "guest" who asked me for money. When I refused he followed me to the lobby and waited for me outside. The hotel refunded me for 2 nights but still charged me for the night i stayed. 2 months later I booked a one night stay at Clarion in Miami. Again felt super unsafe, called customer service and they refused to refund my stay. These hotels are scary to stay at, especially if you are staying with kids, NEVER book a choice hotel. You will regret it just as I have TWICE.

Charged immediately . Could not use my points on the room I wanted ! Useless to buy ahead !!!!!
Mar was nice but useless. There is no decision makers you can ever talk to with choicehotels . Just robotic people saying the same thing over and over again . I was led to believe buying points was a good deal since you can pay with points or renting directly . Bought the points and then found out I couldn’t even apply them to my hotel !!!! It did not tell me that in the fine print . I will be disputing this with my credit card company . The points are completely useless and I was not allowed a refund despite calling in 5 minutes later after buying the points . Talking to customer service for over an hour and being hung up on . MISLEADING COMPANY AND HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE . No refunds !

I've been staying at the roadway inn…
I've been staying at the roadway inn for 6 months at $80 a day ,all the staff are friendly except the guy that works during the day, every time you ask him a question he says no,I asked for 1 roll of toilet paper in 6 months he told me no,a clean towel no,change for the vending machine 6 times no,the guy needs to be trained in customer service, everyone here I talked to says the guy is mean and dis respectful, they need to send in the CEO in a diskize, and see how this guy treats people,I been here 6 months and my room was not cleaned by house keeping not 1 time when I asked the guy at the front desk he told me if I don't like it I should leave, when I asked him about the rewards program he told me I don't qualify for the rewards program, someone from corporate needs to come stay here,4400 s 27th Street Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 53221

They do not respect their customers
I had a reservation made 2 months prior to my travel to take my son for his orientation at Coastal Carolina. 3 days before my trip I received an email from Choice Hotels canceling my reservation. I called the hotel to know why my reservation was canceled, the person that answered the phone was extremely rude and said that the hotel was fully booked and that my reservation was canceled due to a rate error and instead of $94 dollars I would have to pay $375 if I would like to make another reservation. Well I was told that the hotel was fully booked but if I was willing to pay 3 times more than what was previously booked and confirmed he could easily book me a room?? This is unacceptable. I will never stay in the Choice Hotels ever again.

2. The button for the second floor in the elevator did not work. I used the stairs to get up to the second floor. SAFETY HAZARD
3. The exit sign at one end of the hallway on the first floor was burned out. SAFETY HAZARD
4. A washcloth was left on the soap holder in the shower.
5. Toilet needed 4-6 flushes to evacuate the bowl.
6. Mold and grime in the bathroom. HEALTH HAZARD
7. AC not cooling in the common areas of the hotel.
8. Door handle on closet door in room not attached.
9. No breakfast available on Sunday about 7:45. Nobody was in the breakfast area eating.
10. A sticky liquid was spilled in the front of the elevator Saturday. They lost me...
This one is a long time coming. I was a customer of the hotel chain for the past few years. So needless to say, it's taken more then a handful of bad experiences to get me to this point.
If you can do not stay at any of the locations. Yes some are decent. But for the most part the properties are unkept / ran down and quite often are located in areas that just are not safe.
In the past 3 years, I have stayed at locations in, CA, UT, AZ, OR, NC. I'm field service technician and I get around. Choice Hotels was my go to as my coworker turned me on to them during my training period and I liked the rewards program.
Since then I have experienced, finding spiders that had body's as large as my thumb (3 in one room), Had rooms that smelt like mold, carpet so dirty I had to clean my feet before getting into bed, dried liquid stuff on the microwave door, broken furniture, bad water pressure or no hot water at all. Windows that don't lock, doors that look like they were kicked in at some point, I got destroyed by some bedbugs at one spot in AZ and the location I stayed at in Eureka CA was in such a bad area once I checked in I didn't leave my room (not even for dinner) and had someone knocking on my door in the middle of the night. I had some homeless people set up camp outside of my window then proceed to get in a massive fight shortly after. I'm not kidding several of the locations look good online but once you get there it's a completely different story.
Again DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL CHAIN.
I have complete control where I stay when I'm in the field, my company doesn't care. I showed management the picture collection I have from the locations and they all but told me not to bother with Choice anymore and have expressed that to the rest of the service team.
This last weekend I was in AZ and stayed at a double tree. The experience was so night and day, the room was amazing, the grounds were well kept, EVERYTHING was on point. Sadly I can't say that about any of the Choice Hotel locations I have stayed at.
They lost me, there is no reason to give them a second chance and the free gift cards just do not make up for what I have to experience to get them.
AGAIN DO NOT STAY WITH THEM! IT IS NOT WORTH IT!

I am a Diamond member of Choice Hotels…
I am a Diamond member of Choice Hotels (which means I stay over 40 nights per year in a Choice hotel). Today I called Choice Hotels support to get credited for 8,000 points I recently received during a promotion that were not credited to my account. I hit the button for an automated callback this morning and they never called me back. You have to wait on hold to speak to a representative. If you select the option for them to call you back, they will not do so. This is where the deceit started, but not where it ended. After 90 minutes on hold I finally reached a representative who told me they points had been credited to my account and that's why I have a balance of 20,000 Choice Reward points. I have a balance of 20,000 points because I RECENTLY PURCHASED 20,000 points WITH MY MONEY. Choice is saying the 8,000 points have been credited to my account, that my folio reflects that (it does not -- I asked if I could share a copy of my folio with them and they said I could not), and they said the 20,000 points that I PURCHASED are evidence I received my 8,000 free promotional points (which, by the way, required a two-night stay, which I completed). When I asked for the representative's name so I could file a complaint they hung up on me. After I finish typing this sentence I'm done with Choice Hotels. They'll never see another cent from me again. If they hang up on their Diamond members (the highest possible rewards level that can be earned with this brand) I can't even imagine how they would treat everyone else.

Comfortable bed and clean!!!
Greeted with a friendly smile and had a great check in. Our room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. The morning breakfast was decent and I don't say that often. I highly recommend and will choose this hotel in the future.
