I wouldn’t even give 1 star. This company seems to be taking funds time and time again out of my account - this must be illegal. Our first EV charge experience away from home, the instructions made out the app had to be installed, I have had four transactions for what was actually only £5 of charge yet multiple £10 and £15 transactions on multiple days. Customer service line very difficult to hear clearly when I complained. I think I will have a refund but who knows…..

A very disappointing experience. First a 20 minute mission to get the app installed and link bank cards and Paypal to it so that the charge point can accept payment. So, yet another annoying app on my phone for yet another charge company. Why you simply cannot use a credit card as you can in most petrol stations I cannot imagine. Then I discovered that your account is credited with 10€ and not the amount you actually used. When the credit drops to 5€ you are automatically charged another 10€. This is utterly ridiculous and basically theft as you can never use that last 5€. Having to use yet another clunky app is bad enough but having such an idiotic system for payment is beyond comprehension unless Chargepoint's mission is to annoy their customers? Then I received an email saying that if I did not unplug my car as soon as it was charged I would be billed at 13 centimes a minute!! until I unpugged it. No doubt this is to stop people using a charge point when others need it but I was the only EV in a charging area with 30 bays. How hard could it be for their system to recognise that and only apply this charge when the bays are all in use? This stupid system makes no allowance for the real world, mothers with young children, disabled people with doctor's appointments etc. Maybe not everyone can get back to unplug in time. Frankly, I find this disgusting and for this reason alone I will never use ChargePoint again, they can keep my 5€ I can never use, it was worth it to learn what a shoddy company this is. No reply to my emails of course. But the absolute joke was the 15 internal combustion cars parked in 15 of the bays not plugged in, taking away spaces for EVs and not being charged one centime for being there while paying customers are charged almost 8€ an hour!!!!! If they are late unplugging. Not surprising there is so much reluctance for drivers to switch to EVs when you come across this kind of exploitation and ill considered nonsense. Whether my car charged well and the cost of charging all pales into insignificance against this kind of monumental idiocy. I see from the other reviews here on Trust Pilot that I am far from being alone in my criticism. Pitiful.

Actually think what they do should be illegal. Their charges don’t work and it says ‘try again’ you tap your card again and again and the same thing happens. Not only do they take a £10 min charge from you and keep any credit you have, but they hold a £15 pending charge on your account and hold it for weeks. They took £10 plus 3x £15 from me and I’m waiting for it to be refunded. I’ve closed my account. They are clearly out to hold money and make interest.

DO NOT SIGN UP FOR ChargePoint! They automatically charge your credit card (auto-reload). I have been told once you sign up and you agree to the terms and conditions you agree to auto-reload and you cannot DISABLE this feature!!!! In the US they allow this feature to be disabled. Every electric charging station has an app that you must download and use. All apps required auto-loading of funds.

I am waiting for a resolution to a billing problem at ChargePoint. Back on October 12, an authorized replenishing of the account failed after more than a year of successful transactions with the same MasterCard. At least 5 phone calls with long wait times and several emails, I still have no resolution. Funnily enough, that same card works fine without a ChargePoint account.

Very time consuming downloading the app and providing all details. Then after charging debited a further £20 to hold in their account. Why? Phoned customer service. Terrible line and the agent struggled to understand me. Cannot understand why these charging points cannot be pay as you go .

My account has been charged an additional £13 on top of my charge amount, unauthorised. Emailed customer services through the website contact form twice, no reply.

Soooo disappointing, my card was charged even when I was not allowed to connect to the electric supply. Painful system and usually doesn't work.
