I bought a 3-month delivery as a gift and ended up with auto-renewal
I bought a 3-month delivery as a holiday gift which I guess is a Bokksu auto-renewal subscription? I never received a "your subscription is going to be renewed" in the avalanche of multiple daily emails I received from them. There's no one to talk to, the chat bot says it can't help me cancel and get a refund. Crossing my fingers that the customer service email will work.

Wonderful snacks each with a story
Years ago I lived in Japan and always missed the wonderful foods and snacks since. Our PBS station has a show I watch called Trails to Oishii Tokyo which has made me nostalgic for the foods and snacks I used to get. Last year I found Bokksu from an article in my local newspaper. My deliveries have arrived in a timely manner and the snacks are a wonderful treat each month. The box comes with a booklet that explains each snack and where they come from. Recently I ordered the Cat Lovers box for my husband as a Valentines Day gift and he just loved it.

Fancy and Delicious
I've really enjoyed everything so far. The shipping and ordering have gone very smoothly. I've made one purchase from the Boutique (which is expensive, but I've never met a boutique that wasn't) and the shipping for that was lightening fast and everything came in good order. There is a great variety of snacks and you can really see how much work goes into their presentation and print materials. I'm working on extending my three month subscription to an entire year*. Extremely pleased so far.
*A note on that: Currently you have to contact customer service to lengthen a subscription. That is my only real criticism. They say they are working on changing this. But my customer service person told me about some upcoming promotions which I wouldn't have known about otherwise, so there you go.

I am going to give a detailed review

I signed up for Bokksu last year the website was easy to use and you could easily use your rewards points. The shipping was also quick it was USPS with route. Then they cut costs in 2023 and 2022 and the site isn’t user friendly you can’t use your rewards points. They went to a 3rd party shipping partner possibly the worse according to google ( Orange DS and parcel select ) people never get their packages with Orange DS. So? My story with these cuts is that they lost my shipment. Now? I’ve been doing this for 8 years with subscription services and never lost a box. I wasn’t even going to get the Valentine’s Day edition according to costumer service. I wanted to save money so I canceled my original subscription used a 10 dollar off coupon at checkout and they lost my shipment after 3 weeks. Then they told me that it was another January box. Then I went to Bokksu market and bought the Valentine’s Day box and it was expensive this was because they offered package insurance and a signature. Why isn’t this option available for the subscription? They made the March box free which Is good? And it also took them 3 days to get back to me. Overall, a mediocre experience I’ve decided to give them a second chance.

Box never delivered and can't get refund
My box was supposedly not delivered I guess because I wasn't home, according to tracking. The post office has no record of it, after Bokksu checked tracking and told us to go pick it up from post office, no apology when I said this is one of the worst international shipping experiences I've ever had. Now several business days later after requesting refund and no response. I'm very unhappy with Bokksu and feel scammed.

Super disappointed
Disappointed. Customer service is SUPER weak for a company with this high end of a product. Made a Christmas gift purchase in the early to middle of December and it's only now arriving (five weeks later). In the meantime, I'm getting email after email addressed to the recipient of the gift (not me). Attempts to stop this were met with automated responses. In early January I got an automated apology from them regarding the delay in the delivery (even after notifications from SHOP said that the product was shipping three weeks prior and that it was on its way). Honestly, that wasn't a big deal since they say it sometimes takes weeks for the first one to arrive. Today I'm getting another notification that another delivery is being made. Huh? Why? Is this the second delivery of the three that I had purchased? Is it going to be the same box as was delivered the other day since it is now January? They are supposed to be three distinct boxes unique to the month/season. Again, attempts to reach customer service result in messages like "please see FAQ's for possible answers to your questions." I am beyond frustrated with these people.

Explosion of Flavors!
I've always been a fan of Japanese snacks, but the only ones I've tried are the ones that are commonly found at Japanese groceries stores in the USA, and even then I usually stick to the dozen or so I know I like, rather than risk purchasing something new and potentially wasting my money and food.
Bokksu however delivers many snacks I've never tried, either because I wasn't willing to take the risk, or because they weren't available to begin with. In regards to the first reason, the portion sizes are small, so even if I didn't like an item, it wouldn't be as much a waste, as if I bought a box of that item. But more than that, I'm genuinely surprised at how all the unique flavors I was scared to try are all delicious! I have yet to try one I didn't like!
And there truly are a lot of snacks that you simply can't find in the US. Tokyo Treat, with their different flavored KitKats, can't compare with the traditional, hand-made, cultural delicacies that come from regions all over Japan, delivered by Bokksu.
Only negative point is the cost. It can get pretty pricey, especially if you are trying to purchase a specific themed box from their boutique, which is priced higher and doesn't cover shipping, BUT comes with unique items that are not limited to snacks. Thankfully the price can be offset by the payment plans offered by the shop during the checkout process.
The cheapest options are the subscription plans, with the most bang for your buck being the anual subscription. That said, the annual subscription does charge up front, making a pretty hefty annual one time payment, so unless your ready for that one time a year gut punch, I'd recommend the basic monthly subscription. The other positive here is subscriptions come with free shipping.
