I have been a Bokksu customer since 2021, and I can say that while the basic subscription gets you a monthly box of delicious snacks and culture info, the actual value is more complicated. We have Bokksu Boutique, for both things that are found in the boxes and amazing things from Japan -beyond- what's in the boxes. Then we have Bokksu Market, for more mundane things from Japan that are still amazing elsewhere. Then, we have the Bokksu Community, which includes a fantastically moderated place to chat, share, get help, get advice, and get additional perks like live video tours or 'meet and greets'. While troubles have been few and far between, their customer service is absolutely top notch, working swiftly and effectively get things corrected, even if it was a mistake made by the courier and not the company. My most recent purchase was from the Boutique Pride collection, and it was a delight to support and be supported by a queer-owned small business. I loved the handicrafts made by local artists, and anything made with summer fruits during this time frame are -amazing-. The entire experience can be summed up with the Japanese concept of "Omotenashi", to wholeheartedly look after one's guests and build a relationship that goes beyond the transactional.

Bokksu is everything they say! High quality, beautiful authentic Japanese treats. They are always unique and sourced from incredible makers and artisans -- this is not grocery store candy and chips. Everything always arrives carefully packaged and neatly arranged. It is worth the price and there is enough in each box for 2 people to share and each have a taste of everything. Customer service goes above and beyond to help with anything you may need.

I have been a Bokksu customer for many years. I have never had a problem with any of the snacks - they are always fresh and tasty. Their customer service is quick to respond and helpful; the only time I've had to reach out was when I wanted to renew my subscription for a whole year to take advantage of a year-end bonus item, and they set that up for me perfectly. They even run their own social media instance that lets subscribers interact and share stories, discuss, and partake in Bokksu-run events. My most recent order processed at the start of the month, and the transparency on shipping and arrival is detailed and accessible.

I purchased a 6 month subscription to Bokksu, but they do not tell you when your subscribe that they automatically renew your subscription unless you remember to cancel it. Regarding BOKKSU'S response to me: They mention in their note that you are informed of the auto-renewal when you sign up. When you pay for a 6 month subscription, before the end of six months Bokksu should send out an advance notification that you are going to be renewed automatically. Clear communication is the key to a successful business. When you sign up for 6 months one assumes that you are signing up for 6 months only. Bokksu's system reminds me of the old Columbia House records model which was called a Negative option billing practice: Columbia House practiced negative option billing, a form of commercial distribution in which services are automatically supplied to the consumers until a specific cancellation order is issued. The practice has drawn many complaints from consumers. According to a documentary called “The Target Shoots First” by filmmaker Chris Wilcha, a former Columbia House employee, the company was founded on a premise called “negative option.” Basically this meant that, after your initial penny purchase, the company would continue to ship products (and charge for them), until you explicitly said “No!” Rather than trying to entice consumers to want to make purchases and building a business around their relationship with their consumers, it shipped by default and made consumers literally pay the price. This is no different with BOKKSU with their "negative option billing" practice. Perhaps the founders of Bokksu should have researched this business model first because typically this model leads to the downfall of a company due to the lack of customer loyalty. In my case, I'll never subscribe to BOKKSU again. I'm sure that I'm not the only one!

Tolle Produkte. Habe das Abo jedoch aufgehört, da ich auf das eh schon teure Päckchen jedesmal ca 12 € Zollgebühren extra noch zahlen musste. Schade

It is my first experience with Bokksu, and I've chosen Bokksu over other companies following several different reviews on YouTube. I've never been in Japan (until now) but I wanted to taste it, somehow. So I've decided to try shopping from the boutique. I loved the feeling of waiting for a package coming from far away, from persons from the other side of the world. It reminds me that we are not so far away, actually. It has been a lovely, beautiful moment: receiving it has been magical, I unwrapped it with care, slowly, and I simply LOVED finding a little origami inside the package, like a tiny trace of someone's time and care. I loved every single product I received, and everything was of very high quality. Mochi with sesame seeds, the cream biscuits, the rice snacks... everything was so good. I've saved one for every day's lunchbox, just to remember me that every day was a good day. It is a tiny little thing, but it makes me feel good. So, Thank you very much to Bokksu workers. The very day I've received my first surprise box, I've ordered another, and now I'am waiting for it with a smile on my face. I feel a bit like a child waiting for Christmas, but this is it. I love it.

Absolutely loved our snack box from Bokksu ! Fun yummy treats that we shared as a family fun night! My teenage kids loved it!! We rated each snack and shared all the snacks. Very enjoyable and memorable! Bokksu service from ordering to delivery was outstanding every step of the way ! Loved the customer service.

Für 48€ (50€ Grundpreis -10€ Registrierungsgutschein +8€ Transitkosten) ist das echt eine Entäuschung.. Eine Snackbox, wo der Großteil von Keksen und Crackern besteht und um es zu toppen sind sogar noch 2 Erdbeeren dabei!!! :O Echt schade. Hätte mir mehr bekannte Goodies aus Japan gewünscht und nicht paar Butterkekse..
