BEWARE
BEWARE! BEWARE! Biolife failed to screen me for hepatitis C antibodies. Their voice message says they will contact you back. I left 4 messages with no return call, is there some reason they are no longer communicating with me? Seems shady. Biolife unfaily put me on an NDDR LIST (National Deferral Donor Registry list) with no physical proof of a reactive (positive) Hepatitis c antibodies test. They went on a verbal. Is this even legal? When I tried to provide proof of a non- reactive hepatitis c antibodies test, they refused to look at it. I tried to explain that I had a false positive test... that it was a lab error. She refused to listen to me or, better yet, had no empathy to try to help me. The nurse at Biolife treated me like a criminal. This rude nurse tells me NOT TO YELL AT HER after I got upset being told I can never donate blood again. She begins to tell me I am now on a permanent deferral, and I have been added to the national deferral donor registry list. She tells me there is nothing she can do for me. There is nothing I can do. it's PERMANENT AND FOREVER. YES! PERMANENT AND FOREVER. SO. Biolife can put you on a list where you can never donate blood for yourself (as a source of income) or for sick family or spouse. YES, BIOLIFE HAS THE POWER TO DO THIS. TO BAN YOU FROM EVER DONATING BLOOD AGAIN WITHOUT ONE SINGLE DROP OF EVIDENCE. Biolife does not appear to have a hepatitis c antibodies screening in place, or at least they did not in my case. This is not good or is pretty questionable. Is it possible for anyone to walk in there, even tho they may not have active hepatitis c they could have antibodies? Whenever you are exposed to hepatitis c, you get antibodies for life. I asked Biolife if they tested my antibodies, and they said no. They only test with an RNA (which is strictly to test for active hepatitis virus). Biolife tells me there would be an internal investigation, and they would place me on temporary deferral until I got this straightened out with my healthcare provider. Instead, they put me on PERMANENT DEFERRAL WITHOUT EVER ONCE CONTACTING ME. BIOLIFE MADE ME FEEL LIKE A CRIMINAL EVEN THO I HAVE NEGATIVE HEPATITIS C TEST RESULTS, HOW CAN THIS BE LEGAL? As of today, not one representative from Biolife has contacted me. This occurred at the Riverside location. Date of experience: September 25, 2023
