Quick and easy
An appointment takes about an hour and a half. I’ve been donating regularly for months. The staff tries to be quick and efficient. I can’t say that I’ve had any issues, and it’s easy. Thanks.

I am so disappointed with this operation! They actively discriminate against mentally handicapped people. My son, who has a fair vocabulary, but needs put in very simple terms was refused today because he didn't understand the legal questions put him. They made no effort to simplify their explanation or questions. They also refused to allow me into the room the help with interpretation. Based upon what I saw today, unless you are at least a HS grad, don't even bother. I have never seen a business so hell bent on discriminating against the handicapped as I saw today at the BioLife Plasma Service in Bolingbrook, IL.

When Someone is starting to black-out you sit them down and put their feet above their heart. You showed me the door, I barely made it to my car.

I live 3 minutes from the BioLife on Maryland Parkway. I donate plasma some where else and I did try to donate at Biolife but it was too much and I will tell you why... My first day there was in the evening, I completed everything by 8 pm after being there 3 hours. At the end I was given a promotion to use if I could wait until the next day to donate. It was also because each line the employees had me stand in was the wrong line. They stated they were new and the building was new. I shouldn't be penalized for their mistakes. I arrived the next day, I am being told to stand in wrong lines again and eventually I was able to get into the donor area. The two phlebotomist there weren't nice at all when I asked for my BP cuff to be cleaned. THESE TYPE OF PLACES DO NOT CLEAN AFTER EVERY DONOR. Some people are so careless where they can care less, if dirty items are being used on them, WELL I CARE! So the lady cleaned the BP cuff and threw it back on the bed and it fell on the floor. I need that cleaned again, I asked! Why is she throwing things in the 1st place?? #1 I am fair and all for GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. I do not like poor treatment and I will say something when I get that service. A lead phlebotomist came to assist me, although she seemed ticked off she was better than the 1st person. She gave me two alcohol wipes to clean the BP cuff myself. I said, alright!!!! I knew from there I wasn't ever going back to donate. She jabbed the needle in missing my vein. I draw blood as well and everything she did was wrong. After my blood started to flow in the tube, she discovered the machine wasn't working. She called Alexandra to assist and she made the machine turn on and then it turned back off. THAT, HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH ME! She asked the Phlebotomist to adjust the needle in my arm and nothing worked and since it was painful, I asked her to get it out. She said, she could try again on another arm. I told her, she had the good arm, I had the wrong Phlebotomist. 6 months later they are hiring and I did apply for the Receptionist position although I am an experienced Medical Assistant. I can work in the front and back office. The work would be easy! And my customer service is unbeatable not only that, I also have Quality Assurance experience. I was contacted to interview and Andrew was too busy on one day so I met with Alexandria C. the following day which was recently on 08/05/2021. I knew that I was passing the interview when she began saying, "Awesome, Sounds Great" and things like that. But, I was emailed that she found a better candidate and that is know problem! She chose the best person I hope. But she shared they were hiring more than one person. For the record, I have years of receptionist position, she passed up someone with 20 years of customer service experience alone, a wonderful personality, great customer service always, big on following the rules since I am big on quality and following procedures but more important than that, I believe that being on time is late. So, not only was my time going to be properly managed, they weren't going to be dissatisfied with my work ethics at all. I am forced to believe that since I donate at another location, outside of BioLife that, that is the reason I was rejected instead of hired. THEY HAVE BEEN FOUL TOWARDS ME SINCE THE BEGINNING. I have wasted so much time at Biolife and I am not working there or donating there. These companies chooses certain types of people and, if they don't have the room for a me, then so be it. But, to be fair and honest. Their mistakes from the past were their errors that they acknowledged it. My resume and my interview was clearly awesome since my experience fell in line with the position and she said that! Some companies makes me shake my head and try to forgive and forget. Biolife is one of those companies... Soon after her interview I passed my 2nd interview some where else. See there, great people are recognized after all. I will provide my quality service someone else since I wasn't good enough to be treated fairly with Biolife. It would have been nice but thanks anyway. I will also advertise on my facebook page quality places to work and places to donate and be paid properly if not better...

Absolutely horrible experience here; my little brother tried to donate plasma here and each time he went in, waited about an hour while they asked more questions, only to be sent away at the last second; the first time they were upset that his birth name was different from legal name (he had brought in several different documents to prove his identity but they were still unsatisfied- also it took them an HOUR of waiting before they noticed the name issues?? He filled out a ton of other paperwork and waited a long time only to be sent away, and it wasn’t like they had just noticed the issue they complained to him from the beginning about the name thing they noticed right away and waited an hour to do anything about it) The second incident was by far the most insulting; he went in with the new paper work, filled out more, waited another hour only to be sent away again, this time flat out just because my brother is trans. Keep in mind- he has been on testosterone for 3 YEARS now, he very much looks and sounds conventionally masculine (not that it should matter) basically the only thing conventionally feminine about him at this point is what’s down under, and yet THE ENTIRE TIME throughout BOTH of these trips to try and donate blood he was referred to by his dead name and incorrect pronouns- they were incredibly disrespectful, clearly never intending to allow him to give blood and yet they made him spend HOURS over this ordeal, coming in TWICE, until they finally just gave him the real reason why they had been giving us a hard time. One of the doctors there straight up looked him in the eyes and said, “when a female starts taking testosterone, it messes with her head...” IM NOT KIDDING, THATS THE REASON SHE GAVE FOR SENDING US AWAY, AFTER TWO VISITS, AND MANY HOURS OF WAITING, AFTER HE WAS TRYING TO DONATE BLOOD, THIS IS HOW HE WAS TREATED. Absolutely the most horrendous abysmal service I’ve ever seen, I’m absolutely infuriated my brother had to go through all of this. This practice should be ashamed of not only their poor customer service but also their just complete lack of knowledge of human anatomy. Don’t bother yourselves with this pseudoscience barf stain of a clinic, if you want to donate blood literally anywhere else would be better.
