Really inflexible once they've got your money!
The concept of BetterHelp is great - I signed up thinking it was a much improved way of booking sessions and having control over your therapist (without having to have the awkward conversation if they're not right for you). However, on my second month of payment, I requested that my regular payment be shifted back by four weeks to allow for work trips. I was told I was only allowed to 'pause' my membership once every three months (I had to pause it over Christmas as my therapist understandably took over two weeks off) and that it would not be possible to do so. Therefore, I'm having to book it at inconvenient times - with my last session only being four days ago. Since they're so close together, I feel I'm getting no benefit (as not much can happen in four days!) and I'm more stressed out now trying to book sessions in. I would have continued but I feel like the monthly subscription cost of £260 has been a total waste. After this I'll be cancelling and going to a therapist directly as there's much more flexibility with taking a week off here and there.

We're sorry for any confusion here, Katherine! We can certainly help provide some membership billing adjustments when the situation is out of your control (such as your therapist taking some time off). Perhaps our Member Success team misunderstood the request assuming you reached out to us about this. I've requested the email address linked to your account (via a Trustpilot form you'll see separately) which will allow us to reach out to you directly to get this sorted out. Talk soon, BetterHelp Team
